Fiji. Hands down it's the best water. I've tried Voss, but wasn't all that impressed. I like to spoil myself with a pack of Fiji when I can afford it.

Yep-yep Fiji would have been my second choice. In fact, I alternate between the two. When they only have the Voss in the plastic water bottles 😝 that's when I go for the Fiji. The bottle reminds me of being on vacation. 🌴🌺

I still watch my TV from time to time even though I stream most of my movies now on Netflix. But some of those movies are what I will always relax to watch whenever they are showing.

    1. All Ip Man's movies
    2. Black Hawk Down
    3. Sometimes in April
    4. Valkyrie
    5. Fury

Wow, Heatman.. you know what? I can't say I've heard of ANY of these ^ you've listed. I might just have to check some of them out.

    Thanks!

Although I don't really watch TV nowadays, if these shows are on, I'd watch them in a heartbeat:

    1. Any Austin Powers movie - Dr. Evil is my favorite character
    2. Predator (1987)
    3. Scary Movie 2
    4. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
    5. Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

I love the Scary Movie series - they're great. Especially around Halloween.

    Great choices 👍👍

Thank you so much for indulging my little hobby cravings on getting to keep fishes. I will most certainly look into this from your insight and experience on the subject. It will be definitely helpful!!

    No prob! And good luck.

Any further questions, feel free to ask. I only know freshwater fishkeeping, but boy, do I know it. 😉

True - revving bike engines does unnecessarily does tend to get on my nerves because for the most part, most of them sound pretty similar. Now if they revving of a car engine like and EVO x with turbo - now that I can listen to all day.

Me too! Fast cars.. even old Mustangs or my fave - Corvettes.

My very first car was a white Corvette. In high school. 😁 You can imagine the fun..

I wish I could get into keeping fish as pet/hobby in fish tanks. I have seen so many exotic tanks with beautiful fishes and I really crave having it. It's why I love sea games that are played under water. One of my favorite one's is Subnautica. I really enjoy playing it on my Switch.

IMO the best thing you could do if you'd like to get into fishkeeping would be to get/adopt a Betta fish.

Have you ever seen them in stores, living in shallow, dirty cups of water (because they must remain separated).. it's horrendous - the conditions they are kept in.

Get yourself one Betta, they don't require much work at all. Put it in a small/medium plastic tank, do manual water changes (1/2) at a time maybe only twice a week. Put beautiful plants and ornaments in the tank and feed it Betta bites or canned blood worms. Just saving one of these beautiful fish will bring you such happiness - and they will live a happy, content life, esp being taken out of the awful living conditions they are being kept in at stores, including big market stores like Walmart and Meijer.

A great place to start, easy maintenance, and the 2 of you would be so happy. A double-rescue on both parts. 🐟 💙💙

Beautiful fish, lovely long tails. They only live 2-3 years but you sure could make them happy years, for both of you. 🙂 Just a suggestion.

I've rescued so many in my lifetime... too many to count!

  7. And I'm talking the good old-fashioned black and white newspaper delivered to your door..

Nowadays, it seems people turn to the Internet, their phones, the news, or even social media for the latest updates on pretty much anything.

The Macomb Daily keeps calling our house. I suspect they are slowly going out of business.

What about you guys - anyone still get the daily/weekly paper?

Mostly songs I have little interest in, like rap or reggae. I don't mind bubblegum pop songs because I grew up with them, but many of the so-called "pop songs" today feel so generic and stale. Where's the energy in them? Where's the adrenaline that makes me want to dance? They're certainly no MJ or Britney.

I agree. Pop music is pretty good as long as it's more from the old days like you said, Brit and MJ.. and Jessica Simpson sings a great one called "Where you Are" .. I remember it so well.

Today's pop is blah, never listen to it.

I can't give a specific song, but I can definitely give a few genres.

    • Bubblegum Pop
    • Country
    • Literally everything from the 90's with no more than two mainstream exceptions

I've always listened to underground music and and 80's rock.

Got it. So no 90's except for 2 exceptions? I live for 90's music 🎶🎶 almost all 90's. But I do appreciate some 80's rock as well. More late 80's, like the big-timers Alice Cooper, Quiet Riot..

    Thanks Blackangel

If want to listen to music I'd just switch it off and connect my phone or whatever.  The radio plays almost nothing I like.

That's what my brother says too. He has Sirius and he has it set on one of 2 channels - 90's (love it) and Tropical/Jimmy Buf. 😝 Can't stand his music except for Come Monday.

Casinos and small gambling places are designed so the house always wins.  In that case, do you feel this is moral?  Is it wise to visit these places?   Well, some look with disgust as often hard-earned money is thrown away.    Anyway, supporters of gambling simply believe money is something that people are free to do what they want with without moral lecturing.   Also, they see it as entertainment.

The casino itself is a fun place to go, but for me, it's more about just chillin and getting dressed up to have a fun place to hang out .. kinda like a bar or club. Actually, it has many bars/clubs right inside. My uncle takes me sometimes and he LOVES to play the slots (he loves to gamble in general, esp. scratch-offs) and I just tag along because it's something fun to do.

And you're right, casino always comes out the winner in the end, but my uncle will still take his chances. He's not some huge gambling addict or anything 😂 but I will say he can easily walk away from smoking, alcohol, happy pills, whatever... But he does struggle walking away from casinos and scratch-offs.

A friend of mine uses an old door and a couple file cabinets for his desk. Not very stable I would imagine and probably takes up a lot of room.

Haha!! How big is the door? Like a standard-sized door?

Believe it or not, I was even considering a small, wooden picnic table. But no back support. 😕 Would be kinda cool though.. put a little lantern in the center...

    Thanks Kane

There are some PC desks that are compact, pair that with a Mesh office chair (I have one of these) and I think your have what you need.  Here are some examples:

You might also consider a Lapboard or Laptop Stand (the top image in mine):

😯 ^^ These are perfect! I love how compact they are and don't hog up an entire area of a small room. Thanks so much! Especially for the pics. I need to show these to my mom.

  14. You know those movies you rarely think about, you never order, yet, when they're on TV, they somehow become extra-special and you refuse to change the channel..

I have a few, and yes, most of them are classics.

    Twister

    Urban Cowboy

    Monster's Ball

The entire Halloween series (except H-3)

    Blair Witch

    Steel Magnolias

    Unfaithful

    Revenge

    Twilight 😝😬 (I know)

    Titanic

    Independence Day

    Bad Santa

...and I'm sure there are many others.

Which TV movies are keepers for you? 🙂

  15. In many ways, it has.

But there's still something fun about going out to the movie theater and doing things the old-fashioned way.

I think even teens having the option to "Netflix and chill" 🙄😂 eventually realize how boring and monotonous it can become. Going to the show with a group of friends or even on a first date - there's just something classic about it. And classic never goes out of style.

    😉

There's one that I saw which was called Underwater Space. The gameplay is almost the same thing with interacting with fishes, sea horses, and exploring the entire ocean. It's super interesting.

That sounds like so much fun. I love underwater anything. I've been into fishkeeping for over 20 years now (freshwater). Right now I have 1 big Oscar fish (very difficult fish to care for, everything needs to be just so) and one Betta. I love Bettas, always seem to have one. At one point, I had 10 of them, all lined up on my dresser in separate tanks, of course.

Nope - haven't watched it in years if I'm being honest but I used to love it as a kid.

If you do ever get around to catching a rerun or better yet ordering one, make sure you check out the episode called "Nice in White Satin" .. Karen has to go to the doctor for a physical and the doc is Jack Black. Need I say more??!! BEST one. ⚕️

    🤣

Nowadays smartphone prices are very high, with each Iphone release going near the 1000 dollars price and thats because there are people out there willing to pay for it.
I'm not really interested in high tech smartphones, It would be nice to have a high-end phone for gaming, but the prices are to much for me. My current smartphone is the most expensive one I had, Samsung galaxy  I paid about 300 dollars for it brand new about two years ago, its not the best one out there but it gets the job done.

How much are you willing to spend on a smart phone ?

It's awful, I know. Right now I have two $40 Androids which have been pretty reliable in all honesty.. but the iPhones ($$$)...mine died but still comes back to life every now and then. Would love to get a new one, NOT a used one (made that mistake once before/phone had all kinds of problems.) I'm not willing to spend anything on an iPhone as of right now, I'm on the hunt for new laptop deals. 😉

  19. I didn't like anything about it. For starters, we already used the gym for cheerleading practice after school and ALL summer...so I was already fed up with the gym.

And any sports that I didn't want to learn about or participate in, like dodgeball, basketball, even running laps - again, our coach made us run outside at the beginning of every practice, so I hated to run extra for gym.

What did you dislike most about gym class? And why should we even be graded on it?

  20. I've always had a Dell, 2 of them and this last one I have here (it's actually my niece's) is also Dell.

In your opinion, which is the cheapest yet most reliable? I am looking to get a new laptop or Chromebook by the end of the month.

No more squinting and stressing out my neck typing on this phone. Thanks!
