  1. I'm not really sure if I had enjoyed ice hockey games or not.  They do seem too fast, but it seems like I enjoyed them.  Anyway, in real life, I love floor hockey.  Cannot play real ice hockey due to my southern USA location.

  2. Possibly I could also include sports. I mean, I've went thru phases where I've really enjoyed basketball, baseball, and especially, American football.  Anyway, though, some lesser enjoyed games are ice hockey and soccer - but I can say floor hockey is the most fun sport I've played in real life and soccer isn't far off.

No I mean running an emulator on a PC or an Android device and downloading games from the internet (which is legal if you own the original cartridge). There's a few really good Atari 2600 emulators and finding games is easy with a simple google search.

Atari stuff is so old, lol, probably there is no copyright.  Anyway, I was joking there, but really, these games are so simple, like bugs compared to dinosaurs.  Who are we kidding?

Yeah not saying you can't use a controller on a PC too, or even hook a PC to a TV. All of that is possible now. So yeah, the entire question of why PC is less popular to me is strange.

Well, honestly, lol, that's always been possible! I mean, my brother's early 90s Apple computer had a controller.

  5. I like 3D computer art and a gaming computer would be ideal.  Nonetheless, I don't have one at the moment, but it's a goal of mine.  So how many of you are into art and want a gaming computer for that reason alone, or as a side reason?

  6. I don't play PC games hardly ever.  In that case, I will just mention one I liked in the past, but oddly enough, I don't remember the name.  It was a World War II game where you'd bomb these Japanese held islands. It was for Apple.

  7. I don't know much about it.  But I'm guessing, as at least one has noted, that PC gaming is not less popular.

In my experience it's largely a habit question. People sometimes prefer a controller to a keyboard and mouse, or they prefer a couch compared to a gaming chair. In my opinion consoles and PC's are pretty much becoming more and more indistinguishable nowadays anyways so the whole question of consoles vs PC is becoming more and more ridiculous to even ask.

Exactly how much PC gaming is done via keyboard and mouse vs a controller?  It seems like everyone would use a controller.  I mean, I used a controller the last time I played a PC game, other than a casino/chess one.

  8. I don't have a gaming PC, so I don't really use my PCs for stuff beyond poker machine and chess games.  Anyway, what I have is an HP (2018) and eMachines (2011) which are both in good condition for respective ages.

Oh, by the way, the HP, unlike the eMachines, is memory upgradeable.

  9. It was the original Nintendo, though, I have no memory of it!  In fact, I have more memory of the Atari I had (Note: This was back in the 1980s when I was a kid.).  Anyhow, I do remember the first time I played Nintendo, though (at my cousin's home).  It was the coolest thing ever - because it was so much more advanced than Atari.

I'd say the Atari Flashback consoles are alright for just revisiting old classics on a big screen but Atari is so easy to emulate these days that you don't really need one for that.

What do you mean?  I think you mean putting Atari - probably all the games  - on a Nintendo disc or something.  Well, that's been done for Super Mario Bros games, the original ones.  In fact, that's called Super Mario All Stars.

  11. I buy mine from less glamorous places like Wal-Mart, Target, and especially Game Stop.  Also, most of the time I buy used - and those would be the ones from Game Stop.  Anyway. I'd like to get into online buying, but I just don't game that much.

  12. You can get a Wii for around 80 USD and a Wii U for around 150 USD.  Also, there are similar deals for PlayStation and Xbox.    Therefore, what do you have to lose - assuming you don't think online deals are cheaper?  Do you think they are?

Have anybody here ever sold any in-game items for real money? I did once and it was just a case from Counter Strike: Global Offensive which costed 4 euros and I put it in the Steam community market. Got sold instantly.

I haven't tried that stuff.  Anyway, how much did you make?  Do you feel it was profitable?  Are you planning on doing it again?

Personally I enjoy playing sport games more than playing sports in real life. I've tried basketball, soccer and football. I'm still trying to get a better hang of it but regardless of how bad I am at it I enjoy it.

I like playing sports video games and doing them in real life.  Nonetheless, I cannot stand watching sports and I'm normally not good at sports - either online or off.  Basically, I'm more into playing music.

Anyway, I do love jogging, but that's not really a sport unless you do marathons.

I own one of the Flashback consoles. It's alright but not what I would call the same thing as playing an actual Atari VCS.

Yeah, definitely I want to play the Atari Flashback. I mean, I grew up in the 80s and one of my favorite games was Pitfall Harry.  It would be fun to tackle that again!

The flashback consoles made by AtGames have not been impressive. Clunky user interface, bad wireless controllers, and poor emulation. To put it simply, they're cheap, and they don't have the same level of care or quality as the NES/SNES Classic consoles.

However, Sega is developing a new mini Genesis console, seemingly in-house, so maybe that one could be good.

That should be worth a look!
