  1. No way, I am not into tearing apart and building computers - not like I'm into web development stuff.  Well, anyway, I still cannot program a forum - just install and modify software.  Anyhow, I don't think I'd want to get into making computers - cause it's not my thing and/or interest (I just like shopping for ready-made computers and maybe occasionally modifying the memory/graphics.).

Anyway, there is a HUGE demand for such people, and it's tempting from an economic POV (being a PC repairman), but it's not my thing - just like being a surgeon isn't, lol.

  2. I'm not much into gaming.  Well, that doesn't mean I don't want to be - but I just see other priorities as being higher.  Anyway, as a result, my only console is the original Wii - but I badly want to get either the Wii U and/or the Switch (I am partial to Nintendo due to Mario and Donkey Kong.).

  3. In regards to PC, not sure about this, but I think the graphics and game play can way exceed a console.  Well, actually, considering that the memory and graphic options are so upgradeable on gaming PCs - that's not a guess!

I'm wondering why nobody is showing anyone this.

Seriously, it literally destroys any argument that the "Console Peasants" (No Offense) has.

    Especially these two.

So, here are stats from last year's GDC (Yes, WESTERN developers).

"Well, okay. But what about Japan?" Here's a list of complaints about the Console gaming market (which has become way too censor-happy, especially on PS4)imagen.thumb.png.fda7c2c291c3abbde5710f65a1a3a86f.png

Not only that, but in 2017, the Console gaming market in Japan shrank to nearly one-third of its size compared to 10 years ago. And no, Black Ops 4 didn't bring any interest to that.  The two dominating powers in the gaming market in Japan are mobile and PCs while consoles are being seen as luxurious and unnecessary.

I'll end this "Rant" with this.

To all the people who still think consoles are more popular than PC or that PC will never beat Consoles.

Why do you think Sony moved the PlayStation Headquarters from Japan to North America exclusively?

Wow. That's amazing!  My preference, the Nintendo line, appears to be the last choice among gamers!  Anyway, I knew PC were popular - but I didn't know that PlayStation was the only console to remotely challenge it!

There is no need to use your Gaming PC for art, unless you want to. Buy a second system for artist work. The following is thought to be adequate for light illustrations work: 7200RPM(Hard Drive), 4GB Ram, 1TB storage,   2Ghz dual-core processor. A side note, the storage doesn't have to be physically on your hard drive, you could buy a PC with less storage and buy a flash drive for your work. This could work out cheaper. The whole situation depends on what Art you want to complete, @Jayson

Well, actually, a higher memory computer (or upgrade) of perhaps 8 GB - might be enough.  There is no need, necessarily, to buy a gaming computer!  However, though, I beg to disagree with you that low memory will work for all art (I think that's what you're hinting at.).  I mean, I want to do programs like Poser and they need at least 8 GB to be useful I think - or something approaching that.

  6. The games I regret buying might be hated due to my lack of knowledge.   They would have been Rayman and Paper Mario.  Anyway, as I hinted at, some cheat guides might have gotten me thru and/or helped me get more fun out of the starting level.

  7. I have never cleaned the insides of my latest computers, a eMachines and HP.  I should do that.  It's just laziness really.  However, it hasn't really made a difference in performance, though the 7 years of owning the eMachines did lead to moderate dust buildup.

  8. I see it as a bit silly.  Well, it's mostly a subjective thing.  I don't really see the need for touchscreen stuff - apart from mobile phones - based on my needs.  However, I can see why some people might like them.

Anyway, for my POV, I pretty much don't like any interface without a mouse.

  9. Based on what I read, gaming laptops are catching up to desktops in all areas - though desktops are clearly better and probably will remain so.  Therefore, a laptop could be a good idea for some people - depending on how advanced you want things.

So, just for fun, can anyone name these advancements in laptops?

Wow, you’re right, that’s more than most people. What part of Asia have you been to? I lived in the Philippines for a year when I was younger as I have family there.

I've been to The Philippines, South Korea, Saipan and spent a few days in Japan.
