I would choose mini-me every time or Doctor Evil lol. Would be awesome if had an attack with sharks having laser beams attached to their heads - it would be an instant classic for me 🤣

I just googled Austin power games and it seems that there was one made for the Gameboy color, it seems it did poorly on the market.

Aye, it looks cool, but honestly I'm a little Batman-ed out. I'll probably play it, but not straightaway. Will prob wait for a sale.

I can't wait! If it plays anything like Arkham City, they can take my money!

I will definitely buy it as well if its as good as Arkaham city, but I will also wait for a sale since my expectations are not that high.

  3. I've been going to Black Fridays sales for the past 4 years and I haven't seen any fights or anything like that, just the awful long checkout lines.
But I know its true that in other places fights tend to break out specially for discounted Smart TVs.

The first game I played like this was The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. Nowadays most of my game time is spent binge-playing the games I play. So no matter what, I am always playing

I just recently finished this game last month I'm ashamed that it took me to long to actually play it, Its one of the best Zelda games ever

We still make it in Norway, though here it's called Urge but it's the same soda.

It's similar to Mountain Dew. More of a caffeinated soft citrus drink really. It actually started out for the Scandinavian market under the name Urge and was brought to the states as Surge (since Urge was considered too suggestive). It was eventually phased out in all territories save for Norway where it's still being sold after a successfull campaign brought it back.

    You guys are so lucky

The notion that gaming costs have risen over the years is just a fact.

Yours and my expectations for games has gone up over the years/generations since you and I started gaming, but the price of games has pretty much stayed the same. So, the complexity of making a modern game that will be profitable and successful is MUCH harder these days. That's just a fact.

Look at it this way. The price of a chocolate bar has gone up significantly since we were kids. They're around three/four times the price of what we used to pay growing up. However, our EXPECTATIONS for a chocolate bar has stayed mostly the same.

Our EXPECTATIONS for games on the other hand have changed DRASTICALLY. But the price of games have, for the most part, stayed mostly the same since the NES days. And because of this, it's cultivated a very risky environment for publishers and developers to create games in, to the point where entire teams live and die by the success of just ONE GAME. In other words, the middle ground has eroded to the point where the environment can only mostly sustain indies and big AAA games. Something's gotta give, right?

Sure, DLC, Microtransactions, loot boxes etc. are a way to recoup some money for these companies (and sometimes they can be executed in an egregious and exploitative way), but those are not the answer, really.

I'd consider Hellblade, Spider-Man (which was funded by Sony) and Cuphead (which was part funded by Microsoft, right?) exceptions to the rule rather than the status quo. Essentially, Hellblade was a massive risk for Ninja Theory, but thankfully it paid off.

Back to licensed games, and it's still a risky proposition for publishers/developers. Plus, the well has been somewhat poisoned by the raft of poorly executed cash grabs from last generation.

Still, I hold out hope that some great licensed video games are around the corner for us... it's just a much harder environment for them to be made in than it was 5/10 years ago.

I agree our expectations for Videogame quality have gone up with time, in the past any developer could make any licensed game good or bad and people will still buy it just because of the character on it, but now days we know what to expect from a videogame and people will rather spend their money on a game from a good developer and with good reviews rather than the character on the cover. Sorry guys I didnt want to make this a Video game industry financial discussion.

Alien Isolation, Spiderman, Van Helsing, Transformers and the Arkham series are the movie-licensed games I have enjoyed. And then there are the 007 games for the N64 as well as other consoles. Speaking of - why hasn't there ever been an Austin Powers game? 😂

So true, I've never seen an Austin powers game, although by the time the movie was made the Mature videogame market wasnt that big like today so thats probably the reason, Sad.

I enjoy a lot of licensed games to be honest. Some of my favourites are:

    007 GoldenEye
    Blade Runner
    The Lion King
    Star Wars: Dark Forces 2
    Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time
    Alien: Isolation
    Duck Tales
    Chip'n'Dale Rescue Rangers

I could probably list a lot more to be honest.

Oh my god I totally forgot about Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, I used to enjoy that game a lot, moonwalking while doing the "hehehe" sounds. 😄

I think he wanted a general opinion on the topic, Dylan XD.

Anyways, I think that Movie Licensed games have actually increased in quality over the years. They have started pretty roughly and started to become a mess as time went on. However, game companies realized that licensed games can be more than just cashgrabs and, thanks to this, we have a licensed game that got nominated for Game of The Year.

Dylan's kind of opinion is what I wanted, opinion on other AA Movie/cartoons licensed games members of the forum used to enjoy.  (not comics like the PS4 Spiderman)

  10. Is it me or we dont get that many movie or TV licensed games released lately ? (Excluding comic games like Spiderman or the Arkaham series)
I used to play this type of games as a kid on my PS2 since they where the cheapest option, for example Sponge Bob , Shrek , Over the hedge , Monster house etc.

Whats your opinion on the topic ? Have you ever enjoyed any Movie licensed game ?

  11. It makes me a little sad that most recent games for Sonic are average or bad, I remember playing Sonic 2 with my cousins on the Genesis and as of today its still a great game.
Sonic has been in many game genres in the last decade, from being a Werewolf, having a sword an air board or even a speed boat. I cant really remember a good Sonic game from this past generation except maybe the ones with the Olympic games with Mario.
What's your opinion on the Sonic Franchise ? Have you played any of the latest released games from the last couple of years ? or will you rather stick with the Classics ?

  12. Well Nintendo announced that they are not making more (for now) , for a collectors it will be nice , its a solid mini console with good games unlike the mini PS1.
I agree with most members I will rather emulate the games , also if you just want to play the games with a NES controller you can get an USB controller for under 10 dollars on ebay.

Metroid Prime 4 is top of my list, though it'll likely not release in 2019. It'd be nice to see Dark Souls 2 come over (which is pretty likely). And I'd love a port of Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas.

If they where able to add Skyrim they should be able to add one of the Fallout games, I was never able to play New Vegas properly because of the time available I had, so getting a big game like this one portable will be amazing

I am very much hyped for Cyberpunk. So many people I know keep going on about it and the more I see of it, the more I want to jump in and play it. I definitely see it being the game of the year this year unless all the hype ends up being a huge flop or at least unless another game comes out that can have anymore hype than this one. I always find games that have a lot of hype usually end up a bit of a flop. Really hoping Cyberpunk is not one of those games.

Yes it reminds me of Watchdogs, that game had a lot of hype and it end up being a very average game , I do hope that Cyberpunk 2077 exceeds my expectations.

  15. I just googled Just Dance 2019 to look for a good price online, and it turns out this game its also being released for the Wii console, Not a joke, this game its being released for a console that came out 12 years ago.

  16. Whats your opinion on Cyberpunk 2077, are you hyped about this game or do you still have your doubts ?
My hopes are not that high but I like the concept, its like a Blade runner or Ghost in a shell type of game

  17. I dont think there will be a N64 mini, the NES and SNES mini's purpose was to get some holiday sales for Nintendo between the Wii U and Nintendo Switch time gap.
Maybe some N64 games will be ported on the Switch on the Nintendo shop.

Do you think there will be a Nintendo 64 Mini like the NES and SNES? Would you want one?

Nintendo 64 was my favourite console so I'd definitely like one with all my top games on it. The problem is, so many classics were Rare titles and not having them would be a huge miss.

Also the controller is a lot bigger than NES / SNES, with an analogue stick that pokes out. That would make it difficult to make a 'mini' version. I guess you could use a thumbstick but I don't know what other options you'd have.

    What are your thoughts?
