Kane99 Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 So I've noticed this from time to time, but my phone will do this update thing where it says "Setup complete" for my phone every once in a while. And each time it does this update, it sometimes installs a game, or multiple games. Like yesterday, it installed 4 mobile games on my phone, and I don't quite understand why. I am on an android phone, a Samsung one to be specific. I assume I have a setting checked somewhere that lets them install games, but I have no idea where it'd be. I assume it's on the Samsung side, but honestly couldn't tell ya. I did check Samsung settings, even looked at my Galaxy store to find ways of blocking that, but I can't seem to stop it. Any suggestions? I looked online, but it seems you have to block permissions and I don't necessarily want to do that. I guess I can just live with it, as I always just remove the games they install anyway, it's just a tad bit annoying that it even happens.
Scorpion Posted March 17, 2025 Posted March 17, 2025 It sounds frustrating to have games automatically installed on your phone! Check the settings in the Galaxy Store and Google Play Store; there might be an option for auto-updates or recommendations that you can adjust. You could also examine your Samsung account settings for installation permissions. If it persists, consider disabling background data access for those apps. Hopefully, this helps you regain control!
Knight Barida Posted March 28, 2025 Posted March 28, 2025 I don't have such experience, and I understand how frustrating this can be for you. Installing games that you may end up not playing at the end of the day is not something funny. So, I would suggest that you relax and find out why your mobile device is actually doing such.
killamch89 Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 This typically happens with manufacturer agreements rather than standard OS updates. Samsung had a partnership with Microsoft that pre-installed certain games, and Xiaomi devices often add games through their MIUI system app store. Check your app permissions for 'Install Unknown Apps' and revoke it from system applications to prevent this.
Shortie Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 I remember having this happen once on a new phone I got many years ago now, I can't remember what phone it was but I always remember having to uninstall a few games after I set up my phone and then again after an update. I can understand the frustration, especially since they will also take up space too and it can be a pain having to keep uninstalling them because you do not want them.
