StaceyPowers
If you picture an old game in your mind, do you actually picture it the way it was, or do you unconsciously “upgrade” its graphics? I often am startled when I look at actual screenshots of really old games. They look so much less detailed/”real” than how I see them in my imagination. Shortie
I can't say that when I imagine older games that I see them with upgraded graphics like we see games now but I do look at them and I am shocked at just how far we have come when it comes to video games and the graphics. Everything is so much more detailed now compared to older games.
killamch89
Red Dead Redemption 2 has incredibly realistic fishing with proper rod physics, bait selection, and gorgeous water environments that make it genuinely relaxing.
Scorpion
Sometimes I do visualize old games with improved graphics, especially when recalling fond memories. It’s a natural tendency to imagine what they could look like with modern visuals, but I also appreciate their nostalgic charm just as they are. Bizdustry
When I think about old games, I often picture them with better graphics than they really had. My memories make everything look sharper and cooler than it was. It’s funny how our minds can brighten up the past like that!
Anders
I definitely do, and it becomes especially apparent with remasters. With the recent Oblivion remaster for example, when I first saw gameplay of it I though "It looks good, but not that much better than the original" until I went back and actually looked at gameplay of the original. I think we have a tendency to look at old games, especially ones we remember fondly, with rose tinted glasses.

As someone who finished the original Oblivion not that long ago, I can say the upgrade to the graphics is dramatic to say the least.
