kingpotato Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Microsoft revealed a set of guidelines for "Acceptable trash talk" online, this is to avoid insults and prevent users from being disrespectful towards other players during online matches and to protect kid users. Examples of the approved phrases are "potato aim" or "get wrecked". Insulting another user in a really bad way will end up with punishment in form a ban. In my opinion I never had a problem with other players insulting me or them insulting other players. I think we where raised with that atmosphere with early online games 😆 I cant recall how many times 12 year olds have called me a noob or worst (mostly worst) over the years of playing online. What do you think of companies implementing guidelines to avoid insults from users to users ?
The Blackangel Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 They can't sugar coat real life so those gamers are gonna be in for one hell of a rude awakening in a few years.
skyfire Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 I think this SJW manifesto seems like controlling the freedom of speech and setting the tone based on their standards. Kind of something that would make people move away from the company games in such case.
The Blackangel Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 SJW's are fucking everything up. If it's not something that fits into their tiny bubble of arrogance and narcissism, they go ballistic. I'd like to see every one of them taken out to the middle of the Pacific and thrown overboard.
skyfire Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 I am surprised that now gamers are forced to not curse in their own friendly matches among friends? I mean come on. So we are getting boot up if I swear among 3 of my friends because microsofts SJW code of conduct says so? No thanks.

So true, I dont think this was an issue back in the old days, hell it always normal. As a person you need to be able to deal with offensive people, thats one of the basic abilities you need as an adult.
Bravosi Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 I hate all these limitations on talking right. You cant even make a joke now.
skyfire Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Well thank SJW for that. I think they seem to be taking us towards socialist or the communist society that controls freedom of speech yet they preach about it. I hate to see gaming industry dying like this.
