  1. Super Mario Bros. is one of the most copied game ever. These been a history of many clone games that copy the gameplay and graphics. Not only that, the many bootlegs that released with ROM hacks with variations of the SMB games. How many clone games really exist out there that heavily copy the Super Mario games? One game that always comes to mind is the Giana Sisters, that game was heavily inspired by SMB. I heard Nintendo even forced them to remove the game from store shelves in the UK. But I see it's still a popular series that has had new games released somewhat recently. There's also SuperTux, which is a free opensource game that you can download on most Linux operating systems. I played it once on Ubuntu and thought it was fairly decent. But what are some of the other clone games that were very similar to SMB? Are there any that are actually good and worth checking out?
  2. It's being said that Ubisoft is currently developing a turn-based tactics game that will be set in The Rainbow 6 universe. Rumors are saying that the game will feature a top-down view similar to games like XCOM and Diablo 4. The article mentions a heavily resemblance to XCOM though. Would you like to see Ubisoft make a turn-based tactics game based in the Rainbow 6 universe? Or would you rather not play a game like this? Check out the source of this news here: https://insider-gaming.com/rainbow-six-turn-based-game/
  3. KARMA: The Dark World is a new cinematic psychological thriller that is set in a more dystopian world. It seems you play as some sort of detective investigating crimes by using tech to look through the minds of those accused. I'm all for a detective story. It looks quite appealing and for the price, it's not that bad. You can get it now on Steam here - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1376200/KARMA_The_Dark_World/ And I believe it's also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

    La Quimera

La Quimera is an upcoming narrative driven sci-fi FPS that will be set in a futuristic Latin American megalopolis. It's from the people at Reburn. This looks to be their first ever release. It's coming out on PC via Steam April 25th 2025. There will also be a closed beta for 24 hours starting on April 12th at 7AM PT / 2 PM UTC / 10AM EST You have a limited time to sign up, but you can sign up for said closed beta on their steam page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2282350/La_Quimera/
  5. Source - https://insider-gaming.com/final-fantasy-9-remake-seemingly-teased-by-square-enix/ So it seems that a Final Fantasy 9 remake is coming, as it seems recently it was teased by Square Enix on Twitter. You can view the tease below: Do you think this is enough to confirm a FF9 Remake?
  6. Donkey Kong is back in Donkey Kong Bananza, an exclusive that will release on the new Switch 2 consoles. Who here is hyped for this one? It seems to mix of a 3D Open World with some 2D side scrolling sections. It's coming out July 17th 2025.
  7. Check out this article here - https://www.pcgamer.com/software/ai/microsoft-unveils-ai-generated-demo-inspired-by-quake-2-that-runs-worse-than-doom-on-a-calculator-made-me-nauseous-and-demanded-untold-dollars-energy-and-research-to-make/ The article above discusses Microsoft's reveal of a new AI-generated demo that is heavily inspired by Quake II. The demo was supposed to showcase advanced AI capacities, but according to the author of the article, he mentioned the demo ran poorly, so bad that it was compared to playing the original Doom on a basic calculator, but worse. The demo shows off a location similar to what you'd see in Quake II, but using AI, they then create enemies and gameplay visuals on the fly. I guess someone worked really hard on this too. But if this is a sign of things to come, I'm a big worried. To me, their intent sounds like they want to AI to just produce the games for them. Or that's the point they want to get to. And to be fair, AI has been used forever in gaming. And I think this type of AI can be used to improve upon games, but I do have worries that they will rely too much on these type of AI tools to make their games. What do you guys think though?
  8. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is coming out very soon, April 24th to be exact. So, not too far off. It will be releasing for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S & PC (Steam & Epic Games). Who here is going to be picking this one up?
  9. The Duskbloods was recently revealed during the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. It's a new game from the team at FromSoftware, and looks very similar to Bloodborne. But, according to this article here - https://gamerant.com/duskbloods-bloodborne-elden-ring-nightreign-similar-multiplayer-focus/ it's said to be a PVPVE multiplayer action game. This would be a bit of a change considering they mostly focus on single player experiences with some multiplayer features here and there. It's coming out only for the Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026. I wonder if it's limited exclusivity or this is Switch 2 only for life.
  10. Den of Wolves is an upcoming co-op heist FPS from 10Chambers; the creators of Payday, Payday 2, and GTFO. More info on the game can be found on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1818140/Den_of_Wolves/ It is said to be releasing on PC in early access, but no date has been revealed yet. Also their website is pretty cool, as it glitches out on you on purpose, and looks to have some hacking minigame you can play to access hidden stuff, at least from what I can see. You can check it out here: https://www.denofwolves.com/en Once you go down the site, it'll start to glitch out and then it will throw a popup message asking if you want the real stuff. Clicking on Enter will bring you to said minigame. Seems you have to connect all the boxes. You can go right to it here if you want - https://www.denofwolves.com/en/districts
  11. Lovesick is a VR narrative adventure game from Rose City Games. It's currently available for the Meta Quest 2-3 and pro, but will also be releasing on Steam sometime in the future, so should work with other VR headsets. Has anyone here played this game yet? It looks like it's a lot of fun.
  12. I know by now April Fools is technically over, but I thought this was a fun list of games so I think it'd be fun to talk about some of these. The article below lists off obscure games that some would consider to be April Fools' jokes. Do you agree with any of these? Are there any games you'd add to this list? Source - https://clouddosage.com/real-games-that-sound-like-april-fools-jokes/
  13. Nintendo will be hosting another Treehouse Live. They will be showing off gameplay for some of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games. So you probably wont want to miss this one. More details on the streams can be found below. What games are you hoping they showcase? I'm hopeful for a Mario Odyssey 2. What are you hoping for?

    Wreckfest 2

Has anyone here played the new Wreckfest 2 that released late last month? I really was into the first game, and I can see myself having fun in this one as well. I hear it's in early access right now. Is it worth playing now? Or would you wait until it comes out of early access? It's out now on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  15. If you're a fan of the modern Batman games, from The LEGO Batman games to the Arkham series. The list includes 9 of the last Batman games. It doesn't include Gotham Knights and some of the other games. Do you agree with the list here? - https://powerupgaming.co.uk/2025/03/18/all-modern-batman-games-ranked/ You can view the list below as well: 9. LEGO Batman: The Videogame (2008) 8. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (2012) 7. LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (2014) 6. Batman: Arkham Origins (2013) 5. Batman: The Telltale Season 1 & 2 (2016) 4. Batman: Arkham VR (2016) 3. Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009) 2. Batman: Arkham City (2011) 1. Batman: Arkham Knight (2015) Do you agree with the rankings? I don't know if I'd put Arkham Knight #1, as I prefer Asylum and City more. I think if anything City should be #1, and if we really have to, Knight should be #2 with Asylum coming in at the third spot. But even so I still put Asylum ahead of Knight. I think Knight drops in quality from all the riddler trophies you have to collect. City was a lot, but Knight was worse in that regard. What do you think though?
  16. It seems the mini console craze has sort of died down in recent years. I think the mast big mini console released was like a Commodore 64 style mini console. I think there was also one other I am forgetting about. Do you think this craze of releasing mini consoles is coming to an end? Or could we see more min consoles release in the coming years? Maybe an N64 classic, or something obscure like a Sega Saturn or Dreamcast mini. Now I think the problem with doing this, is that emulation would need to work on a tiny machine, and that's easier said than done for consoles like the N64 and up. Anyway, do you think we're done with the mini console craze? Or could we see more come out in the coming years?
  17. It looks like the IP rights to StarCraft could be sold off by Blizzard and Microsoft. Why Microsoft would want to get rid of StarCraft is beyond me, considering how popular of a franchise it was and still is. Now it seems that four studios, all in South Korea, are in a bidding war to secure the classic franchise. Those being; NCSoft, Nexon, Netmarble, and Krafton. But why would MS and Bizzard want to get rid of such an important IP? Is this just Microsoft's way of recouping some costs? You can read more about this news here: https://powerupgaming.co.uk/2025/03/30/four-way-bidding-war-erupts-over-starcraft-ip-rights/
  18. Bubble Ghost Remake is releasing today for the PC, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. It's a remake of the 1987 Atari ST game. It's a puzzle platformer from Nakama Game Studio. I don't think I ever played the original game, and can't say I even remember hearing about it. But it does look like it'd be a fun game to play. Has anyone here played the original Bubble Ghost game?

    Monaco 2

Monaco 2 is a sequel to the popular stealth action game by Pocketwatch Games releasing April 10th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. I haven never played the first game, but hear it's really fun. Are you guys going to check this one out when it releases?
  20. A new Nintendo Direct is happening in less than 30 minutes from now. What kind of reveals are you hoping for? I'd love to see a Mario Odyssey 2 announcement. Would be cool. You can find the live stream below.
  21. I'm 35 years old and still enjoy gaming like I did growing up, but I find I don't have the skills I used to from back in the day. Do you think it could be a mix of getting older and my skills starting to degrade over time? As gamers yourself, do you feel getting older has affected your skills in games? Or, do you feel like your skills haven't changed, or even got better over the years?

    AI Limit

AI Limit is a new anime style souls like game from Sense Games Studio. It actually releases tomorrow for the PS5 and PC via Steam. If you like the Dark Souls style of games, this game looks like it might fill that void. Check out the trailer below.
  23. I liked the Croc games growing up, but never liked them as much compared to Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and other games in the genre. But I have good news for fans as it looks like there is a Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster releasing April 2nd for the PC (via GOG), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch. Who here is looking forward to it? I might check it out. I guess it will have updated controls that match a more modern configuration, so that might even improve upon the game. But yeah, more on this news here: https://n4g.com/articles/look-gobbo-make-it-rainy-croc-legend-of-the-gobbos-remaster-release-date-platforms-and-pc-system-requirements/
  24. Has anyone here ever attended a Quakecon event before? I have never, but I think it'd be cool to attend, especially to take part in their LAN parties. I hear you can BYOC (bring your own computer) to play Quake with others. I love LAN parties, so I could see myself getting into an event like this. I see they limit the people who can join via a lottery, for the BYOC side of it. Tickets for the event are on sale now until March 30th. The actual Quakecon starts Thursday, August 7 and runs until Sunday, August 10. You can find more info here: https://www.sknr.net/2025/03/24/quakecon-reveals-their-2025-plans/ If you've gone to this type of event before, what was it like compared to other cons?
