Aye, I totally agree. The Big Daddies are kind of the good guys. I feel sorry for them as well! Their mission to protect the Little Sisters is actually honourable. It’s a great twist.

I do like collecting trophies (I know, I’m weird). I’ve accrued 25 platinum trophies over the course of my gaming life from PS3/PS Vita/PS4. These include Dead Space, Uncharted 2, Minecraft (PS3/Vita/PS4), Telltale’s The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Sound Shapes, Life Is Strange, Minecraft Story Mode, Resistance Burning Skies, Hotline Miami, and a few more I can’t remember off the top of my head. Do you have any platinum trophies? What games did you achieve platinum trophies in? Was it difficult or easy?

Aw, man. Used to find the first few Zelda games pretty hard when I was younger, but I always played them round other people’s houses. It’s only recently when I picked up a SNES mini that I had the chance to own and play Link To The Past again. Thanks for your comment!

Of course, Sonic! Great choice. That’s another game I’ve beaten and was pretty easy. Thanks for chiming in!

😂 😂😂 Ironically, I used to find Minesweeper kinda tricky as a kid!

I currently sit at around 5650 trophies and around 31,000 achievement gamer score, personally. I quite like collecting trophies and achievements. How about you guys?

Good price here. https://www.thegamecollection.net/mass-effect-andromeda-xbox-one/

Ah, good point! Forgot to take that into account 😅 I guess, the game’s Normal setting should suffice as most games on casual/easy are a cakewalk.

I usually read or watch some reviews first to see if it’s my kind of game. Sometimes, though, I use my gut instinct to judge if it’s a game I’m in the mood for. For example, if I’m in the mood for a certain genre, I may take a chance and check out a game that’s on sale that looks up my alley.

Good deal. Could save even more if you have PS Plus. https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP9000-CUSA03745_00-LASTGUARDIANEU00

Yeah, ideally I prefer to buy gaming hardware brand new, too. I’d say, if you’re interested in getting a Vita, you can always import one from Japan. They’re not region-locked so it should be fine (I think the X and O buttons may be reversed on Japanese models so bear that in mind). Thing is, price is only going to increase for new models as Sony has stopped manufacturing them. It’s a great console and Killzone Mercenery is definitely one of the best games on it. I also recommend the OLED model if you have the choice. Hope that helps!

We all rabbit on about the toughest video games (*cough cough* Dark Souls et al) but no-one really talks about the *easiest* games. The easiest game I’ve beaten is probably Super Mario Bros 2. It’s one of my favourite games and I still love it to this day. What is the easiest game you’ve beaten?

Aye, you’re right. I think that’s the sensible thing to do. That said, if you’re lucky and have some disposable income and want to get in on the ground floor, there’s a nice buzz to be had getting a new piece of hardware when it launches imho. But your reasoning is sound and I’ve also definitely waited a while before buying many of my consoles.

I love buying new gaming hardware. Sometimes, however, I’m too broke to buy a new console so have to wait a bit before pulling the trigger. Luckily, I’ve bought a few consoles at launch as I’ve pretty much worked since I was 18 in some shape or form. It’s a real buzz getting a brand new console on the day it launches, right? Here are the consoles I’ve bought on launch day: PS3 PS Vita PS4 Nintendo Switch As you can tell, most of these consoles are pretty modern as I didn’t have the cash when I was younger. What consoles have you bought at launch? Or do you prefer waiting a bit first?

I like the odd MP game, but I’m predominately a single-player guy. Long live SP!

What was the last game that really impressed you?
DylanC replied to Martin Berisford's topic in Gaming Forum
Hmm, I think the last game that super impressed me was Octopath Traveler. Wasn’t expecting it to be so damn gorgeous. Not only that, but its writing and combat is excellent as well. Was very enamoured with it, and it ended up being my game of last year, along with God Of War. -
Really interested in FromSoftware’s next game. For those who’ve played it, how does it compare to the Soulsborne series?

There are a handful of video games that have been seminal experiences to me. The most important being Silent Hill 2. Not only does it have one of the most mature stories in a game, but it’s deep, symbolic and meaningful, too. It really changed the way I viewed video games. Are there any games that have had a big impact on you? If so, what was the game and why?

Honestly, this is an easy one for me: Killzone Mercenary on PS Vita is a top-notch, fully fledged FPS on a handheld console. It looks incredible, plays really well and there’s still a small community who support it and play it to this day. What’s your favourite handheld FPS video game?
