  1. I'll be honest and say that I do currently have one enabled for VGR, and unfortunately re-installed one purely because of this site and YouTube (sorry!). My work device (πŸ˜†) is pretty small, and the ads here make it horrible to use - especially the video ad. I didn't realise it was capped to show only 5 times in 24 hours though.. I might try again with the blocker disabled to show support, unless you have an ad-free "premium" service as an alternative?
  2. I genuinely can't remember the last FIFA I played.. It's been a while! πŸ˜… I kinda lost interest when they introduced FUT and microtransactions. It immediately felt like a greedy move from EA, and a huge grind otherwise. --- I'm sure I've read somewhere that EA may potentially lose the "FIFA" name as they're not willing to pay the financial demands of UEFA for the license.
  3. It'll be interesting to compare it with other websites and communities out there designed for this very purpose, if nothing else! I might trial it sometime this week or next for trying to organise a session in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (PS3).
  4. These are the ones that spring to mind.. I dare say there's others SPOILERS INBOUND! - Final Fantasy VII Aeris' death Final Fantasy X Tidus And Auron sent to the farplane Metal Gear Solid Sniper Wolf's death and Otacon's declaration of love Resident Evil 2 Ada Wong's "suicide"
  5. I own the consoles as well as the controllers.. πŸ˜‰ I had 4 controllers for the GameCube purely for Mario Kart. It's a great party game to get friends involved with, especially when the beer is flowing!
  6. Yes, I still have my PS1 and still have fun with it. I know that many of the games got remastered or even reimagined for newer consoles, but I still prefer the originals.. They have a retro charm to them.
  7. I originally bought a second-hand Game Capture HD for the bargain price of £51.50 including postage, but realised upon arrival that it didn't come with the proprietary PS3 component cable. They're surprisingly difficult to get hold of on their own! Knowing I'd likely have to spend upwards of another £20 for one, I returned it.. I decided to bite the bullet and buy the HD60 S new from Amazon for £129.99, and after a bit of tweaking around with my setup it works great.. 😁
  8. PS1 Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy VIII Metal Gear Solid Resident Evil 2 Spyro the Dragon 2 PS2 Gran Turismo 3 Grand Theft Auto 3 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Metal Gear Solid 2 Silent Hill 2 PS3 Batman: Arkham Asylum Call of Duty 4
  9. I bought the equipment (Elgato HD60 S) to have a go earlier this year.. I thought it could potentially be a neat way of getting organic traffic to my website, but I haven't really had the time to properly invest in playing the kind of games that I'd want to stream. Maybe one day..
  10. I went from Sega to PlayStation, to Xbox, and back to PlayStation. I loved the Xbox 360, but the early iterations of the console were nightmarishly unreliable. I must have got struck with RROD on no less than x4 occasions, as well as a faulty DVD drive. Then when my slim console got banned from Xbox LIVE for taking advantage of a marketplace region 'exploit' for a handful of free games, I decided that I'd had enough and decided to move back across to the PlayStation. I haven't looked back since.
  11. I have a couple of favourites that game developers have deployed over the years.. 😈 Batman: Arkham Asylum Glide ability removed, making the game impossible to complete. Serious Sam 3 The game spawns an undefeatable red scorpion boss that chases after you. That ought to teach those pesky pirates a lesson!
  12. GCN: x4 Controllers (x2 cheap knock-offs) PS1: x1 Controller PS2: x2 Controllers PS3: x1 Controller PS4: x2 Controllers PS5: x1 Controller Wii: x1 Controller Xbox 360: x2 Controllers It's entirely possible that I have a few others floating about, having re-bought a couple of second-hand consoles that came with with various bits thrown in.. but these are the main controllers that I use. They're mostly original, although I have a suspicion that the PS3 controller is a fake.
  13. PS2 and Xbox would be my choices, though I wonder just how much smaller they can make those consoles without a compromise on graphics, and cooling not being an issue.. A mini Xbox would be pretty sweet actually 😎
  14. My backlog is some 1000+ games, all platforms considered.. I just wish I had more time to play some of them! πŸ˜… Many AAA titles in there too. Although I'm doing better at trying to resist buying more, lately.
  15. Totally depends on my partner and their skill level.. I don't want to be carrying them through the game, but similarly I don't want to feel like I'm cheesing the difficulty by playing with someone who knows the game inside out. Unless I'm not overly keen on the game, then sign me up for extra cheese! πŸ˜†
  16. I'd quite like to play the modern Mario games, as well as some of the Zelda games.. but I'm reluctant to buy a Switch, at least for the moment. I've heard great things about them, but I don't have much time to play on my PS4/PS5 as it is! πŸ˜’
  17. I prefer L2/R2 as the "main" triggers (shoot, accelerate, etc), and L1/R1 as the "sub" triggers (aim, strafe, grenade). Just what I'm used to, I guess.
  18. If there are defaults (ie. Final Fantasy), I just tend to stick with those.. If there are "known" names but the game doesn't select them by default (ie. PokΓ©mon), I generally research and select them. I haven't played too many RPGs where I must choose my own name, thankfully πŸ˜…. I'm not really into open-world RPGs, and prefer the more traditional JRPGs.
  19. Never heard of Epal, but certainly prepared to give it a go.. Way too much toxicity out there. Wonder if it's any good for organising "boosting" sessions for achievements/trophies? Anyone had any experience? πŸ€”

    PS2.

So many fantastic games on the PS2.. I spent way too many hours gaming instead of studying back in the day! πŸ˜… I even picked up a slim PS2 again quite recently, after selling my original phat console after all these years just a few months prior. I instantly regretted it, but especially so after discovering OPL works much better over Ethernet than USB or Internal HDD.
  21. I would imagine it's going to have the same music tracks missing as the PS2 ports we had too, if not more.. making this definitely not a "definitive edition". From the screenshots I've seen, the graphics do look a lot cleaner - but it's also made them look a bit more cartoony. When they initially announced this, I was hopeful of the classics being totally re-imagined using the GTA 5 engine, but nope they're just another cash-in! πŸ˜”
  22. I never owned a Sega Saturn, and nor have I ever really played on one.. Back then I still relied on my parents for my gaming purchases, and we decided to go for a PlayStation instead. I regret nothing! 😝
  23. Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) on PS3 I'm trying to go through some of my older games and get the multiplayer trophies done before the servers get shut down.. One more to go with this one!
  24. Hello VGR! Happy to be here finally. I've been aware of the community for some time and finally took a moment to register.. πŸ™‚ I'm mainly a PlayStation gamer / trophy hunter, though I do have a reasonably capable PC too. Look forward to networking and chatting with you all.
