I would love to see Simpsons Road Rage or Simpsons Hit and Run brought back or remade if I am honest. I remember especially with Simpsons Hit and Run I loved that game and spent so many hours on it just playing through, completing everything. I think in the end I finally completed the game 100% I had that much fun with it. To be able to go through it again now especially after it's been so long since I played it before and go back to it in better quality on a newer console would be awesome. We can only hope they choose to remake them or bring them back someday.

I would like to see this too. I watched someone on youtube play through it on stream recently and I wanted to go and play it again. I guess there's emulation, but that's not the same. 😞 I wish Microsoft would restart the backwards compatibility program. Maybe in the future they will. It would certainly be awesome to see.

  2. At first I didn't, it looked like a PC tower or mini fridge to me. However, after owning one for awhile, it's grown on me quite a bit. Speaking of the "Mini Fridge" design, I would LOVE to get one of those xbox-branded mini fridges to keep some mountain dew in there for long game sessions at night.

  3. I remember this happened a lot on my older brother's original xbox after awhile. I was never able to play it, but I do remember him having issues with it after a few years up until he moved out to get his own apartment. I guess that's to be expected over time. Disc drives just tend to fail and need replacing.  I remember it happened to one of my PS2's back in the day, the laser inside completely died and I needed to buy a new PS2.

I agree and even now some of the achievements needed are a lot more as well and many do not stop at 1000 gamer score now but continue for quite a bit more. I don't know what the highest gamer score is now for a game but I know I have seen some for as high as 1250. Hunting for achievements now is very time consuming, in some cases I would say the challenges for them can be very time consuming just for one achievement in a game.

I agree. I time my achievements, or try to, to match with the weekly sets for Microsoft Rewards that require you to earn 3 achievements, or the monthly punch cards that require the same. So I double down and not only get the achievements, but the rewards points for them too. 🙂

  5. For the first time in decades, both of my consoles are completely out in the open with full ventilation optimization.  Last gen I had my PS4 and Xbox one X in my entertainment cabinet, while the ventilation was okay, it wasn't as good as it could be. This time around both my Xbox and PS5 are out in the open, standing upright, with my TV between the two of them, so they get the best ventilation possible.

  6. On Xbox, each time you earn an achievement, you get points towards your overall 'gamerscore'. This is a huge accolade to some and they take pride in having a large gamer score. There are a bunch of achievement hunters out there. I don't mind my score being on the lower side, but I do like the feeling of accomplishment when I get certain achievements in games. I have a buddy who just ended a 486 day streak of getting an achievement a day. This wasn't intentional of course, but he says he's gonna try redoing it starting January 1st.

What do you think? Are you someone who cares about gamerscore & achievements?

  7. Tough one! For me its probably either Dead or Alive 4 or Call of Duty Black Ops 2. I sunk a lot of hours into the original MW2 but on the 360 i sunk an ungodly number of hours into Black Ops 2 before hackers took it over. I'm literally 10 levels away from prestige master, but can't get it due to hacked lobbies. 😞 Which is a real shame.

  8. Pope on Twitter does a lot of cool mock-ups of different color schemes for consoles & controllers. I would love to see the Series X & S consoles be put in the design lab and customiziable like the Elite Series 2 controllers are now. A custom console to go with your custom elite controller? That'd be awesome! I would imagine it'd be very, very expensive though.

Yeah I enjoyed the destructiveness of the game. Surprising ahead of its time imo. But that boss battle I stopped at made me mad haha. I'm pretty sure I still have a save file, but it's that boss battle and idk I if I can put myself through that again lol.

Same here. I haven't played Sekiro, but it did remind me of the rooftop moments of Tenchu. I remember playing the original Tenchu on PS1 back in the day, and having a blast jumping onto roofs and jumping on enemies. But I always sucked at these games lol.

Yeah.  Stranglehold is on sale at GoG for like $2.50 now. I might pick it up so I have access to it, as recently i lost my PS3 and 360 collection and with it, my collector's edition copy of Stranglehold.

  10. In recent years? Probably Saints Row 2022.  This game was so hyped up. It reviewed very poorly and just seemed very repetitive and lackluster when it came out. I haven't even bought the game, I plan on picking it up when it's ~$20, but we'll see. I do enjoy the Saints games, but this newest one, a lot of people I know say to not bother. With the price of everything going up, I have to be super selective over what games I buy at launch and which I wait for big sales for.

  11. Tough one! probably for me, right now it's the Playstation Vita. I loved it back at launch when I got mine, and i love it now to this day. My console is hacked so it does a lot of cool stuff and I'm in the process of getting a bigger SD card for it so I can load up all of my Vita and PS1 titles.

  12. I don't get these games yearly. However, my brother does buy them every few years. I'm not sure if he plans on getting 2023 or not though. He gets them on his Switch and has fun with them for maybe a week or two. 😛

  13. It makes sense, as games become more advanced and they add more stuff with each update, it makes sense that older hardware will begin to struggle to support the game properly. Was iit dumb for Microsoft & Sony to release what they did in 2013? Yes. both the OG Xbox One and PS4 were ridiculously underpowered. The Xbox One X should've been what we got in 2013, as well as the PS4 "Pro" should've been the stock PS4.  The other reason this happens, is simply because these manufacturers want you to shell out the money for their latest consoles so you can 'keep up'. Apple does this on a yearly basis.

  14. Which PS Vita Modoel do you think is better? the 1000 series OLED or the 2000 series LCD?  The OLED Is less reliable but sharper and nicer looking, it's the model I have, and I hope it lasts me awhile because I don't have a replacement Vita. I would love to get my hands on another Vita, the 2000 model as a backup but we'll see how that goes. Howabout the PSV TV?

Which PS Vita Model do you own? Which do you prefer?

  15. Yesterday I found my old vita collection in a bag full of old games. I believe I grabbed them all. I have I believe 15 games for the Vita. I'll have to take inventory but noteworthy ones include:

    Uncharted Golden Abyss

    Mortal Kombat

    Shinobido 2

    Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

    Soul Sacrifice

I'll be buying the SD2Vita card adapter and loading up an SD card with all my vita games and PS1 titles as well.

  16. Were you a fan of Devil May Cry on the PS2? It started development as a new Resident Evil title then pivoted into it's own separate series of games I liked the original Devil May Cry from back in the day. I Had a demo disc of it from buying RE: Code Veronica X on the PS2. I enjoyed what I played of DMC and eventually bought the game when it released later that year. It was a fun change from the regular Resident Evil formula.  Did you like the Devil May Cry series?

  17. It's often debated that Sonic Adventure on the sega Dreamcast is where the 3D sonic games peaked.  Is it the best 3D sonic game series?  I personally think so. I couldn't get into any newer 3D sonics and i've tried most of them. I still think SA and SA2 were probably my favorites out of the 3D sonic era.  What do you think?  I still play these two titles on my Dreamcast to this day. I remember Sonic Adventure being the first introduction I had to the Dreamcast, in a store in my local mall in 1999, and I was blown away by the graphics as a 9 year old kid.

  18. Who else loves the Streets of Rage games? I grew up playing the original trilogy on my Sega Genesis, and much like the Final Fight games, i sunk hours into these titles. My favorite is easily the 2nd game, which is arguably the best in the series.  The 3rd game was kinda weak and it took them almost 30 years to give us a follow up with 2020's Streets of Rage 4.  SOR4 was done by a development team with Sega's help/blessing and as dedicated fans of the original series, they did Sega proud. Using cell-shaded graphics for this 4th entry was a bit of a weird change but it grew on me.  I love these games and I hope to show my own kids these titles someday when I have them. 🙂
