Some days I’ll take a nap, but other times I won’t nap at all. It all depends how tired I am that day.

I’m a heavy sleeper. It takes a lot to wake me up when I’m sleeping good.

I wouldn’t be taking a job that requires one lol. Those types of jobs aren’t for me.🤣

I usually get enough sleep on a daily basis, sleeping 7-9 hours every night. If I don’t, I take a nap or two the next day.

Same here. It’s an experience that you’re unable to do when you’re the driver.

Meta is working on an AI-powered search engine to decrease its dependence on Google and Microsoft, according to a report from The Information. The search engine would reportedly provide AI-generated search summaries of current events within the Meta AI chatbot. The Meta AI bot built into Instagram and Facebook currently uses Google — whose parent company, Alphabet, will report quarterly earnings tomorrow — and Microsoft Bing to answer questions about recent news and events. That could eventually change, as Meta’s web crawler was spotted roving the web months ago. The Information’s source indicates a team has been working for about eight months to build a database of information for its chatbot. Meta has worked on building up location data that could compete with Google Maps, and last month, Bloombergreported that Apple’s work on search tools in the App Store showedhow it “has what it needs” for its own AI-powered Google Search replacement. Last week, Meta also announced that it struck a multi-year deal with Reuters, allowing its chatbot to use the outlet’s news articles in answers. The Verge reached out to Meta with a request for comment but didn’t immediately hear back. Otherwise, OpenAI has confirmed it’s working on an AI search engine called SearchGPT. At the same time, Perplexity’s AI search engine is the subject of lawsuits from News Corp and is also facing legal threats from other publishers, including The New York Times. source: Theverge

“This Is Why I’m Hot” by Mims is one of my favorite tracks. I also like “Cut Her Off” by K Camp. Both of these songs were one-hit wonders, but I still enjoy them.

I’ve had deer and bison meat before. They’re my favorite types of game meat. Deer sausage is one of the best. I’m also a sucka for a big greasy cheeseburger!

According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, 20 of Xbox's first-party franchises have made $1 billion or more in lifetime revenue. He revealed the news in the company's recent annual report for 2024, which he noted comes after the company acquired Activision Blizzard in October 2023. Along with homegrown franchises like Halo and Gears of War, Nadella name-dropped the series it has bought over the years, such as Candy Crush, World of Warcraft, and Elder Scrolls. The Activision Blizzard franchises, continued Nadella, also led to "hundreds of millions of players" being added to the Xbox ecosystem. Big titles like Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 were added to Xbox Game Pass and Steam after their initial launches, and the just-released Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was added day one on the service. During an earnings call for 2023-2024's first quarter last October, Nadella said there were 13 "billion dollar-plus" franchises, indicating some saw a significant revenue boost over the past year. Since then, some series (like Fallout) saw a boost in popularity thanks to factors like a TV show, anniversary, or a specific entry being delisted. Nadella did not say which Xbox franchise was the top-earner. But we have an idea: as of 2022, the Call of Duty series had made a massive $30 billion in revenue, and it seemed to be Microsoft's primary reason for the acquisition to begin with. source: Gamedeveloper

My Time at Evershine raises over $2.5 million via its Kickstarter
Cpvr posted a topic in Gaming News
My Time at Evershine has been smashing its Kickstarter goals left and right, accumulating a whopping 30,000 backers or so and over $2.5 million in funding. The My Time at Evershine Kickstarter only launched recently, but it's clear that fans of the upcoming RPG sim's predecessors, My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock, were more than ready for it - including myself. While Pathea Games' initial goal was to hit just $200,000, the project has now earned over $2.5 million from eager backers. There are still 7 hours to go on the Kickstarter, too, which means even more funding. source: Gamesradar -

Amidst a fickle industry of layoffs and shutdowns, Netflix has officially shut down its video game studio, which was created less than two years ago. The studio was made alongside all the other ventures Netflix has as the company has invested its money into many different avenues over the last few years. However, it looks as if gaming might be a bust for the popular streaming service. The company had made some big hires over the last few years, hinting at some next-level gaming hardware and games to come in the future. With names like Joseph Staten and more joining the team, many believed that Netflix had its foot well within the door of the gaming world. Now, though, the company is officially shutting down its California studio, wiping out the entire team that was created. All of this has been confirmed by a Netflix representative at Game File by reporter, Stephen Totilo. What’s Next? This leaves many with the question: What’s next? Will Netflix continue to stride towards success in the world of game development? Or will they put their money elsewhere? While this ultimately might close some doors for the company, Netflix is still one of the largest streaming platforms out there. One studio closing will more than likely not hurt the company in hindsight. Will we ever get to know what the Netflix game studio was working on, though? source Insider gaming
