  1. I play a lot of different types of games but RPGs and open world action/adventure type games are the ones I get the most excited for. I also play a lot of sports games, Fifa mostly but also Madden and The Show.
  2. As soon as I saw the topic title last of us popped into mind. Hands down.
  3. Ys 8 was like that for me, wasn't sure I was going to like it based on the beginning but once I got to the island and started to explore and get into the meat of the game I really loved it, ended up being one of my favorite games.
  4. Depends how much I am into the lore of the world. Skyrim for example I actually read most things as I got so into that world and put so many hours in it just felt worth it. Horizon ZD was another game where I read pretty much everything because I loved the story and wanted as much detail as possible. Other games not so much, I will usually skim to get the jist and move on.
  5. These type of questions are always tough for me, I always feel like I am forgetting something or leaving something out. But so far it would probably be Witcher 3 or Horizon ZD, I love open world games and those were the best to me.
  6. Yea I think it is here to stay. I haven't tried it myself yet but there is a solid market of people who seem to enjoy it. It continues to get games as well, and apparently this new Astro Bot game for VR is very popular, it is getting great reviews and people seem to think it is a big step for VR.
  7. This year Red Dead Redemption and likely Fallout as well. Early next year Days Gone has me interested and possibly Anthem although I'm not sure.
  8. I think it must have been the first Mario on the original Nintendo. That and Oregon Trail at school if that counts.
  9. Arkham trilogy, InFamous games, Prototype, and a couple of the early Spider-man games stand out in the genre to me. New Spider-man game beats any of the previous Spider-man games though.
  10. One of the worst I've seen happened to my buddy not me personally. It was in Skyrim and every time he would fast travel a dragon would spawn, even inside cities where they usually would not appear, which would put NPCs at risk as they would all rush to help fight the dragon, and a few well known NPCs died fighting the dragons which closes their shops forever. Eventually he just had to stop fast traveling, or he would fast travel outside the city, fight the dragon, then go in.
  11. I enjoyed Ys 8 for a JRPG. Also, you may enjoy the Dragon Age games based on those others you mentioned.
  12. I like puzzles for sure, both when they are included well into an RPG or even games that are purely puzzles. For example, I think the first God of War had awesome puzzles, just hard enough but nothing you were stuck on forever, the sequels went a bit away from that and focused more on the action, which was fine but I liked the puzzles in the original. Also, I enjoyed some of Skyrim's puzzles although they were fairly easy. And Portal 2 is a great game, and all puzzles.
  13. Overabundance of "fetch" quests and janky combat.
  14. Wreck it Ralph is a good call, I didn't really consider it but a good movie for sure.
  15. It could be cool but I'm just not sure that it is really necessary. I feel like the game already did a great job at telling that story and did so very cinematically. I am just not sure what a film could really add to it. Also, I fear a Max Payne situation, where the game is already very cinematic and could be its own movie so they arbitrarily change it to make it different and just ruin it.
  16. I usually play in the evening during the week, also occasionally I will go home for lunch and get a quick 30 min or so in. On the weekends I actually really like getting up early and getting some morning hours in.
  17. Man this is tough as most of them have been truely terrible, Max Payne and Assassins Creed stand out to me as among the worst. As for good ones, the Doom movie with the Rock was enjoyable in its own way, also the animated Final Fantasy film back in the day was awesome, and the animation quality was way ahead of its time.
  18. There are a lot to choose from. For PS3 gen I would say take a look at Assassins Creed or Far Cry games, all have pretty cool open worlds. On current gen games like Witcher 3, AC Origins, Horizon ZD, and Dying Light stand out as cool open worlds, and all provide very different play experiences. There is also always GTA games and Saints row games if you prefer that style.
  19. I don't buy DLC very often unless it is for a game I really like. The best I have gotten are both DLCs for the Witcher 3, and the Frozen Wilds DLC for Horizon ZD. All provide really solid expansions to the game that are fun to play.
  20. I am big fan of Bethesda games, but they can have the tendency to be a bit buggy so might not fit your "quality of work" term. As far as really quality and beautiful games I think Naughtydog is up there as one of the best with the Last of Us and Uncharted games. Also, I was a big Bioware fan but since they were bought by EA it seems there games have taken a bit of a dip. Also Ubisoft makes some great games with big beautiful worlds even if they can be a bit formulaic, like Assassins Creed and Far Cry.
  21. Inside and Limbo are definitely up there. Journey and Little Nightmares are on my list as well, they were both great. Also, there is new one out, Typoman, that looks pretty good although I haven't played it yet.
  22. Gotta be the KOTOR games for me. Both those games are amazing. The podracing back in the day was mad fun as well.
  23. No way Cyberpunk comes this year, even 2019 might be a stretch, but it will amazing when it gets here. For this year my list is Assassins Creed: Odyssey, RDR2, and Darksiders 3. I will probably give Fallout 76 a shot as well as I am a fan of Fallout games. I was also looking forward to Biomutant which was originally scheduled for 2018, but that looks like it will be a 2019 release now.
  24. The only Board game video game I ever really played was Mario party. Those were always fun games. I believe a new one is coming soon for Switch as well.
  25. God of War for me so far. But Red Dead 2 has a chance to beat it.
