  1. There's this dumb misconception that pixel art automatically says that it's "Retro Style" when in reality it's a choice that was made because it's a rather easy way to develop your game compared to HD sprites and 3D graphics.

A lot of developers tend to be more expressive with Pixel art too, something that wasn't achieved during the NES days.

Pixel art is wonderful but it has been a very prominent focus as of late according to @StaceyPowers... But again, it's not really inspired by anything retro, it just can be its own form of art that isn't necessarily associated with the consoles of old.

Now, are indie games as of late like that? No.

Just this year we've had games like Indivisible and Deliver Us The Moon which have pushed the boundaries of HD graphics and 3D respectively. Not to mention, the current-day gvame engines like Unity and Unreal Engine  have been pushed to their limits by indie studios, whether in demos or otherwise.

So no, this market isn't going for too much Pixel art, in fact, I would say it hasn't been done enough... But more importantly...

Did you know @Alyxx never owned Axiom Verge?

With 1080p HD visuals and HQ audio, a classic from 2005 has been revitalized for your viewing pleasure!

This animation has a bit of history, actually. The creator of the original animation (The Heroine) wanted to make a love story based on true events surrounding her and her lover (Dark-Power). She thought that there wouldn't be a better way to tell this story than by using Eevees. Unfortunately, both TheHeroine and her partner were quickly forgotten to time as they have moved away from DeviantArt and were never seen since 2011.

It's unfortunate. We never knew what happened to the two. We also never knew whether or not their relationship continued flourishing or if it perished to time. This remaster also serves as a beacon of sorts, to see if Heroine Arita would come back at least for one moment to give us a closure of sorts (I know, pipe dream, but what can you do). The second objective is to simply expose this animation to new generations of Eevee fans and artists. This animation was a landmark for its time and actually won the Daily 5th Place award on August 17, 2005 on Newgrounds.

Greedfall gets my nod because it has so many things that modern games lack in addition to pretty good gameplay.

The publisher is Focus Home so I think it doesn't really count but... Well, maybe it does and I'm a stupid

This quartner nothing good I can see. There seems to be slow days on steam for indie.

You have been ignoring games like Don't Escape 4 (the resurgence of the Point and Click genre) and Deliver Us The Moon (a game that is ambitious with gameplay and mechanics). There were a lot of amazing games during this quarter.

    The heck is battle pass?

Since nobody answered you, a battle pass provides in-game content through a tiered system. The more you play, the more tiers you unlock. In turn, the more rewards you'll end up getting from playing the game.

Or in layman's terms. It's replacing the pay to win with the "Less evil but equally scummy" monetization system.
