I don't remember which games it was.

Well I've used this thing for pretty much every applicable game in my Steam, GOG, Origin, Uplay libraries and more and never had any connection or compatibility issues whatsoever.  I've seen bundles that include the controller from about £15 to £20 in the UK, it works just like as if it's hard wired.

  2. There is definitely releases that were buggier and/or more incomplete at launch.  Most games that find themselves in this situation are potentially good with good concepts either made badly and didn't have all the advertised features. Bethesda's games are known for their interesting characters, quests, story, modding communities... and a catalogue list of bugs.  What I think really bites about Fallout 76 is that for no reason other than greed they jumped on the "live Service" cash cow meaning that all that good stuff was deleted to fit that mould, but of course we STILL got a catalogue list of bugs!

The only situation I can think of form an at least semi-popular project that is worse than this is Star Citizen because the developers are literally robbing people, some out of thousands of dollars with overambitios promises and they have brainwashed the community into thanking them for it!  As of now they raised over $260 million by constantly teasing features and adding small updates once every few months and that is exactly what they will do indefinitely because as soon they actually release a finished product or even a BETA worthy one that crowdfunding gravy train stops.  Absolute scum.

  3. I actully get this problem allot, especilly in Windows 10.  I go through the usual steps of disconecting and/or disabling audio devices, reinstalling audio drivers or re-starting the computer and one or more of them useully fixes it but it is annoying.

I prefer console only because of the controller although I have an NVIDIA GTX 1660 ti gaming x msi. I tried PC gaming a couple of times just to verify if I liked it but I don't. I don't like using mouse and keyboard so I stick with console. 😛

Well I game mostly on PC these days and I use a controiller most of the time, In fact the only time I tend to use mouse and Keyboard is....

I play real-time strategy games pretty much exclusively on PC these days, but other than that particular genre, I don't really have a preference for one platform or the other.

...yeah when I'm doing this!  I'm sure he means game like Total War, Command and Conquer, Anno and such.  The interface suits M/K so much better than a controller, I also like M/K for some flying and shooters games but for pretty much everthing else I use a controller.

There are some people that argue that in competitve games like First Person Shooters and Moba's that PC's are better becuase the mouse is more acuurate and with the right hardware you can get better framerates that you can do on consoles.  They might even be right but I've got a beastly PC and 144Hz G-Sync monitor and trust me, I still suck! 🤣

  5. It's needles preffering either brand, you look up and compare benchmarks and price and make a choice based on what you can get at the time.  It's not like choosing a CPU and/or motherboard that you need to stick with in the longer term, a GPU can be aside from the expense easily replaced.

I think chat in any form is dead. Unless it's in-game. Any other time, I don't see it surviving much longer for any reason. Not to mention that discord is pure shit.

Couldn't agree with you less,  Discord is more lively and engaging when you find the right communities.  Especially during live gameplay sessions or events like E3 where new infomation comes out live.

Forum's have their place, for longer and more analytical content but for shorter term stuff, Discord is SO much better.

It was honestly a bit of a toss up for me between the SNES and N64. I love the N64 controller. It's one of my favorites. But I couldn't ignore the leaps the SNES controller made. But still, N64 will be a close second for me.

There is a question about the N64 controller I want to ask you about, and I will address the topic of that particular controller once I get my answer.

I think the SNES controler was the main step forward in terms of economics and quality.  I think the next and biggest revolution in terms of design was the original DualShock.  Pretty every controller since then has followed the basic layout.  Future designs followed from and improved ergonomically from that basic idea.

As of right now, I think the best overall design is the DualShock 4.

  8. With the right design concept and execution any story could be told just as good or even better as a video game.  I think The Last of Us is the perfect showcase of why. In most aspects it's linear of two characters going on a journey from A to B.  It's a setup that we know works fine for a movie or TV Drama but I don't think anybody really expected at the time that the additional element of interactivity could make for not only engaging gameplay but make you relate even more to the characters and get more engrossed in the story than perhaps you ordinarily would.

I heard about The Last of Us movie several years ago and the creative director of the game (Neil Druckman) even wrote a screenplay for it but It was put on indefinite hold.  To tell the truth I kinda hope it stays that way because I don't think the move could ever really do it justice... and it seems like I'm not the only one:

    From the Article:

Druckmann admitted that he didn't want the script he wrote for The Last of Us movie to be used. He had said: "...And even I worked on the script for The Last of Us film, which was a direct adaptation. And now, having some separation from it, I look back and [am] like, 'I don't want that movie to be made.'" Based on his comments, it certainly seems like Druckmann finished The Last of Us movie script quite some time ago but simply didn't want to see it turned into a movie, so it was never utilized.

By this point the Last of Us Part 2 was already in production (not to mention Uncharted 4) so Druckman put his focus on that instead.  So it's unlikely we will be seeing a movie adaptation in the near future.

I think another interesting example is Mortal Kombat, after a couple of games came out on home consoles and the Arcade there was a movie adaptation, opinions are divided about it (I liked it personally) but what it did was use the movie format to explain the lore and tell a story far better than the arcade fighter ever could.  Then over the years as gaming technology improved they were able to more storytelling elements like cutscenes, and when Netherrealms released Mortal kombat 9 and it told its story even better than the 1995 movie did. Now I hear that there is another movie on the horizon which might raise the bar again! Who knows!

Bitch owes you answers! What are you gonna do about it?

I wanted to look for her but they told me I was wasting my time.  "It's trying to find one Crab in an entire Ocean" they said.  It's when I replied "That's just a figure of speech" they started calling me crazy.

Is Jerry Springer still a thing?

I wouldn't know, I get pretty piss poor reception down here and I'm not sure if it's up to date.  Did Ross and Rachel break up this year?

  10. Shadow of Mordor.  Bland charaters, forgettable story, overpowered player who is pracically invincable and some of the most laughable stealth detection I've ever seen.  I thought if i pushed through to the end there would be somthing worthwhile...  There was not!  In fact the ending was by far the worst part.  The game got rave reviews from just about everybody and I cannot understand why.

Another thing I would like to see more of, would be games that are played in real time. There seems to be a shortage of them, and I always loved that type of thing. A game where you can't pause to think, and couldn't cheat by pausing the game. You had to act as you would in real life. Those are desperately needed.

I don't know, games with a time based designs mostly piss me off.  They seem to relay to much on trial and error.  I think back to Majora's Mask (I know lots of people like it but I found it repetitive and frustrating) or the god awful Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII which is easily the worst game in the entire franchise.  I'd rather play and explore at my own pace and decide for myself what I want to do and when. Also I do appreciate the convenience of being able to pause the game so I can take a piss or answer the phone.
