killamch89 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 Personally, although I normally sleep with two pillows, I've been contemplating sleeping without one because I heard it does a lot for back and neck pain ( I do have a bit of back pain). How many pillows do you sleep with?
Empire Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 I have a large single bed, step up from a normal size single bed, with one single pillow. Mostly I throw it around when I'm feeling warm at nights lol. I say that most older age people tend to have more pillows after a while.
The Blackangel Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 (edited) If I have a new one, then I use one pillow. But when it flattens out, depending on how flat it has gotten I'll use 2-3 pillows. I need to keep my head and neck in direct alignment with my spine, or I have extra neck and back pain the following day. Edited July 19, 2021 by The Blackangel

I've always had two and I don't intend to add more than 2 if I should ever require more pillows in the future. 12 hours ago, The Blackangel said: If I have a new one, then I use one pillow. That's why I was mentioning sleeping without a pillow because I had read it somewhere that it's actually more beneficial than with pillows because that was the natural state of our body at rest. I haven't tried it at yet but I know a couple of people who swear by it but I'll have to do a bit more research before I try it myself.
AndreiMirfi Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Even tho I'm sleeping alone, I like having 2 pillows. I'm the type of guy that rotates a lot during sleep.

I sleep on my side, so if I went without pillows, or something to hold my head up, my neck would be craning downward, and everything would be completely out of alignment. Also, I have slept without pillows before. I did it for years, because I just didn't have anything to hold my head up. The back and neck pain I had was so severe that I couldn't walk, and was barely able to even sit up. Whether it's pillows, a wood log, or your pitbull, you need something to hold your head up and maintain that alignment.

I see - I did have to sleep outside as a child once and my labrador did serve as my pillow. 4 hours ago, AndreiMirfi said: Even tho I'm sleeping alone, I like having 2 pillows.
