killamch89 Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 With the rise of global events like the FIFA World Cup, Olympics, and even the UEFA Champions League final, do you think the Super Bowl still holds the title as the biggest sports event? While it dominates in the U.S., its global reach seems smaller compared to football (soccer) or Olympic events. Has the Super Bowl maintained its prestige worldwide, or has it been surpassed by other competitions?
The Blackangel Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 Here in the states, yes. It’s the biggest sports event. Further out, no way. I give the World Cup that distinction. Considering that the entire planet has a soccer team from every country, nothing is bigger than. Soccer is no where near as popular here as it is for the rest of the planet.
Knight Barida Posted February 14, 2025 Posted February 14, 2025 (edited) As far as the United States is concerned, it is the biggest event. Just take a look at all the personalities who always attend, and you will agree with me that there is no bigger event apart from it in the United States. Edited February 14, 2025 by Knight Barida
The Blackangel Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 Very true. The World Series, Stanley Cup, and NBA Finals don’t hold a candle compared to the Super Bowl. For example, no championship game has a halftime show like the Super Bowl has. Not too many celebrities go to the World Series or Stanley Cup the way they do the Super Bowl.
Ja sa bong Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 The Super Bowl isn't bigger than the World Cup. End of story. It's only in the States we can argue about its relevance and popularity which is very big but other than that, it's not the biggest sports event in the world.

I mean I am even of the opinion that it is the biggest in the USA. The World Cup is simply the biggest event in the world right now and that is truth as far as I am concerned.
Heatman Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 Unfortunately, I don't even pay any attention to the Super Bowl now. I used to love it but not anymore. I'm quite sure that many people out of the States even know it's happening.
