Ja sa bong Posted May 5 Share Posted May 5 Birds are animal of the air. They are meant to roam and fly freely. When they are kept as pets, they are being kept in captivity in my opinion. The Blackangel Posted May 5 Share Posted May 5 I don’t see it being cruel. I’ve had birds for years. We had a macaw and conure, but they got stolen. Right now I have 2 doves. @Rain Dew and I are looking for another macaw. The last one was so sweet that she walked into the bedroom from the front room looking for me one night. I really miss her. The conure I had since she was a hatchling, and I had her for years. As for the cruelty aspect, the same could be said for anything that isn't a human. We also have dogs, rats, and even a dragon. Birds such as budgies, parrots, cockatiels, parrots and such, if they were brought up as pets, I don't see why they could not be kept as pets.
