How do you handle a controller?

I've seen some really weird ones like the Octopus Claw... I'm not sure but it's almost like he's massaging the controller. I've never seen anything like this.

Yeah it's weird and feels very unnatural the way he games.

It's probably not very comfortable but it makes some sense.  It minimalizes the distance between the buttons and his active fingers so he can react quicker.  It also lets him manipulate both sticks, the face buttons and the triggers simultaneously.

If I didn't know any better, it looks like one of the practicing techniques in Muay Thai...

I put my thumbs on the buttons. I've always love to hold my controller with thumbs on the buttons and I put my index fingers on the triggers.

I've actually tried out The Claw technique, but it never worked for me. I prefer to have my thumbs on the buttons because it gives me more control and precision as well.

I heard that The Claw technique is good for games, like FPS games but i haven't used it.I just go back to the thumbs on the buttons.
