  1. Maybe in the game they develop a sense of control which carries on in their dreams. Maybe it helps detach them from something personal as killing in video games tends to be impersonal, which would mean that impersonal violence carries on in their dreams so that instead of seeing the eyes of someone you killed or saw die, it becomes a blur and they see many blurry enemies or allies instead of that one defined one that haunts them. Or maybe it helps them see things clearly and develop battlefield awareness playing video games that helps them see what is going on in the dreams and gives them security that they can find safety.

If aggressive video games help soldiers with ptsd, should a woman who was raped play a video game where there is a lot of rape in order to cope with it better in her dreams?  So there is some irony there. But hell, maybe so.

  2. If you had a business since the 90's, would you make sure to have enough supply when a new product came out? No excuse. I think what they do is release a certain test console to see how it goes. Then they release another model that was updated a little. So either it's bad business, or the 1st consoles are test products. But then again, more people have turned to gaming and scalpers are on the loose. But does this affect any releases of games? It would be hard to determine the actual quality of a ps5 game if many of the consumers can't even get the system. That would leave the majority of reviews up to those that got the system in advance or at a high price. I wouldn't release any new game the first year or two a new console comes out. So this probably affects new games released.

  3. I'm gonna have to check that out. What tricks do you know to light the zippo? Everyone probably knows how to do this that owned a zippo, but snap your fingers to light it; or swipe your leg to open lid and swipe again to light it real fast.

My uncle smokes a lot of cigars and he gave me a freakin mini torch to light cigars. You could burn half your face off lighting one. WTF.

  4. That is probably the best answer. There is already the democratic party that is supporting democracy. But if a new GOP can bring some of those 70 million crazies that voted trump to be more moderate, then that is what needs to be done. Then the civil war will be less likely. But these GOP would rather be a cult fascist, have dictatorship, have civil war, ruin this country, burn it all to the ground, before ever being a democrat. That's how extreme they are. The only way for them to think about democracy again is a more moderate party within their own GOP. Sad, but true. It would be a start, and a sense of hope to form a new party. And the extremists will be less inclined to burn it all down if their own are rejecting their behavior. There really is nothing a democrat can do for them. They are lost.

  5. What are your thoughts about the GOP splitting into a new pro democratic 'never trumper' party, leaving the cult trumpers to implode? There are 100 former republican officials giving republicans one more chance to become more moderate or they will form a new party. This comes as Liz Cheney of the republicans called out trump for the big lie, or the election was stolen lie, and the republicans will oust her today just for going against trump. That makes the trumper a cult. To oust an official and go against her free speech just because she goes against an ex-president is enough for some to call for the split in party.

I personally don't think it's worth giving the republicans another chance to control themselves. They simply can't. They are brainwashed, mentally sick, and pro fascist. They aren't gonna change. So they should go ahead with the GOP reform by making a new party.

  6. That is something they don't teach in the Simpsons is the realities of having an alcoholic father and an uninvolved mother. It actually is normalizing that behavior to kids as they don't see the consequences, when actually in real life families are torn apart. Simpsons came out when I was a kid; I don't really remember thinking about all the drinking Homer did. It just wasn't ever promoted as bad. And years later I became an alcoholic. Nothing to do with the cartoon, but I should have learned somewhere that alcohol is bad. They had smoking commercials and drug commercials telling us it was bad. But never alcohol.

If you don't harm the rats at any point I'm interested. If you're forced to harm them, then I want nothing to do with the game.

Actually, the protagonist don't have weapons to kill the rats, but they use a variety of tricks to keep them at bay. Torches are mainly used to light an area because the rats hate light. It's a pretty unique game. I don't remember if any rats were intentionally killed or not. For the most part it isn't designed to harm them, only keep them at bay to run and escape.

Due to how real life works, it's not entirely possible to approach it like playing a video game because certain actions regardless of how innocent has some very devastating consequences.

That's true too, but people get killed for wearing a protective face mask during a pandemic. So we should be more concerned about the mental health pandemic more than an innocent action that can get you killed. Cause to me, that real life violence actually should be the video game.

But to intensely listen to a conversation you are having with someone as much as a dialogue, that may be a workable approach to curb attention issues. I can see that being a real strategy. Just don't accidentally punch the MF when you meant to check your phone. LOL

I'll answer the door with my AR-15 if they try to interrogate me. I'm not going to tolerate this kind of bullshit. If they want to know how many Democrat voters there are, they can look at state/county/city statistics. They can't go door to door with a hostile interrogation and intimidation tactics and not expect to not get anything back.

I'm just hoping they force their way inside my house so I can legally kill them.

Hell yeah; I would look forward to that legal killing. They said they would not use guns at the doors. But they have no god damn right at all to go to anyone's door armed or not. This is straight up nazi shit in the making. I really do hope they get themselves killed at someones home.

  10. Cyber ninjas was ordered by judge to make their procedures public, and still no witnesses, and they are using UV lights to look for Chinese water marks for QANON conspiracy theories and accuses antifa and the Chinese of water marking and bamboo particles in the ballots. They also increased security in case of an antifa invasion and went through a series of security defense to stoke their fear mongering. Now they demand access to government internet routers and passwords, which puts law enforcement and privacy of citizens such as social security number and health info at risk. They aim to go door to door to interrogate voters.

One of the counters was at the capital coup attempt. And the ballots are no longer in the hands of gov. officials which means cyber ninjas can do whatever they want with them. How they were able to be allowed is beyond my comprehension. The attack on democracy continues.

The medium and the dying light 2 are coming out. And those two are definitely worth keeping track as well for the gameplay experience and the story if you ask me as well.

The Medium isn't even available on ps4. Thats messed up cause it's made by Bloober Team, who made Layers of Fear and Observer. And I'm craaaaazy about Layers of Fear.

  12. That's an interesting question. I've had socialization problems and tend to live as a hermit. But I think I am fairly a social being when in the right crowds. Living in klanville, I don't want to have anything to do with anyone around here. Not at the store, not with neighbors, not anytime, no matter the mood. I have felt the difference in crowds and how my anxiety can completely break off me like a shell when around diverse people. For me, it would still be hard to imagine being in a game and be carefree, while knowing I may have to go to war against my neighbors. It is there in our minds now. But let's go back to a different time. A time when things weren't this bad. Back then I was still the asocial type. And I was still the social type among certain people. I was raised in a diverse and poor area in Vegas. Then we moved to Houston in a very wealthy and one of the most dominantly white areas of the 4th largest city. So I believe my anxiety and asocial tendencies developed there by force. Because I didn't fit in. I wasn't like the rich white kid. So for me, to completely erase that cement of the mind by trying to be carefree like a video game seems far fetched to me. But not impossible. And this may actually be a very real therapy if I wasn't scared to try it. Or I should add, if I wasn't so angry to try it. Maybe I will in another place sometime. I will keep that in my mind to just think about it being a video game. And I'm in a village admiring the people; willing to talk; willing to learn; take things in; share ideas; make small talk; compliment someone. Oh wait...I do do that. Just never here in klanville. And why the hell should I? Why does everyone have to change themselves; to work on themselves to please the haters. My anxiety is here to stay as long as racism is here to stay.

  13. Maybe if a person has a fear of something, they can play that scenario in games and maybe help cope through it by gaining confidence and experience to overcome. Or playing something that relaxes and puts the mind in a better existence has a natural anti anxiety effect. And even playing a game that you can relate personally with the story, can relieve some stagnant emotions.

  14. I can see how GTA is a great game, but not my flavor. If they changed the title to 'Surviving The City' then I'd probably be interested in it. But GTA already puts me in a position where I think, ummm city bandits sounds boring. But 'victims of urban crime trying to get out' appeals to me more. You know how sometimes a series goes by a specific title instead of a number like Skyrim instead of ES V; or Black Flag instead of AC4. GTA 6 should be called something catchy as it's own title and maybe I'll want to play it. But if I even think about playing it, all I think of is GTA and there really isn't anything special.

Think about the title Red Dead Redemption by the same developers. That sounds more appealing. Imagine if it was called RTC or Rob the Carriage.

  15. If the game is cartoonish, it can get away with a remaster; everything else older than the ps3 needs a remake. I can think of a ton of games from the ps2 that could use a remake. But in this world we live, stupid prevails. Nature no longer cares about passing the stupid DNA. At this point we are all stupid. So just gives us games to reinforce our stupid.

An affordable lightweight wireless set that does not require you to give up your privacy. Yeah, I'm looking at you oculus requiring a facebook account. Hell no, even if it was affordable I don't want to link my gaming persona to my irl persona.

    Yep, that too

  17. Two games that come to mind are Horizon Zero Dawn and Mad Max. Both are in a post apocalyptic world where new generations grew up and some (not all) worship the machines left behind by lost generations before. If you grew up in a world with absolutely no answers to how these machines were made, would you eventually develop a spiritual bonding with them? If you think about it, a lot of men get really attached to their cars and even name them. Are there other games you can recall where humans worshipped machine?
