  1. I am an animal & nature lover so I'd pick lost in a forest. I have some survival skills. Animals are more predictable than humans. With humans, they can be nice one minute then stab you in the (literal) back the next. Give me animals any day lol
  2. I exercise daily. I have a "body part" day that includes legs, abs, arms, etc. I just make it fun & if I'm not feeling the best, I allow myself to do light exercises. If it's really a bad day, I practice self-care & focus on other areas with stretching. I also take 2 to 3 walks with our dog on our acreage. I have some videos as well as Youtube Trainers that I follow to spice up my routine. My tip is to not make it seem like work :)
  3. I know some people do. I had a friend in school who couldn’t sleep without the radio on. To me, I need white noise. Listening to music tends to distract me especially if it’s a good song. You just want to sing along to it lol
  4. Now this is an older movie, but definitely a classic. Leonardo DiCaprio played the mentally challenged son beautifully. I remember a friend telling me when she watched it when it first came out that she was impressed with the performance & you would have never known it was the same actor who played in the later years of Growing Pains. I think it’s a simple yet deep movie touching on family love for each other. What are your thoughts?
  5. When I first heard about these years ago, I thought it was going to be too catered to the teenage crowd. I’m a lot older lol However, when I happened to catch it on TV, I was hooked. It’s quite good! I actually bought all the movies & have watched them several times already. Even though I don’t usually buy movies, I wanted those Extras that seem to only come in the ones you buy. So, what are your thoughts on these movies?
  6. One rule is to be myself & not let peer pressure get in there. I also don't eat for 13 hours during the night (intermittent fasting). I exercise daily, even if it's walking & stretches. Take time for my furbabies & husband. I don't take crap from others.
  7. I like being organized. Everything in its place. Makes things easier to find that way. I'm not white-glove tho. I clean the house thruout the year so the whole house gets cleaned every year, just slowly. I use that time to go thru items we no longer need, use, etc. I like simplicity. It also helps reduce stress when you don't see junk piles all over.
  8. Here in Michigan, USA, we have Michigan's Adventure. Used to be called Deer Park Funland. We've been there a few times. Even back then, we stayed in MI to support local before it was the 'in' thing lol Also been to Cedar Point. But this was many years ago. I can no longer ride those rides lol
  9. Nice topic! I grew up learning not to take life & family for granted. I'm in Michigan, USA & we used to go camping with my parents years ago. They are my best friends! We stayed in MI 'cos there was so much here we could see, why travel out of state? We have the Great Lakes as well as a wide variety of inland lakes. Old ruins. Shipwrecks, lighthouses. I even got a Michigan History book detailing some of the things here.
  10. @DarthVanity I never realized that! You are right though! lol I love how Leeloo says "Multipass" with her accent. Anybody use IMDB.com & look at the trivia, goofs there? Another trivia: The "Divine Language" was created by Luc Besson & he & Milla Jovovich talked to each other & wrote notes back & forth.
  11. I am too introverted & don't care to compete with others. I like to have fun. Now, a simple game where 'no money is on the table', is great. If I win, I want to win honestly. Same way if I lose. What about you?
  12. New series are always iffy for me. I don’t care for crude humor or putting down others. This is quite funny IMO. Can be a bit dorky at times but my husband & I have laughed thru these episodes. Since I like dabbling in languages, I’ve learned a few of the Nigerian language Yoruba from this show. Anybody watch it? What do you think?
  13. I remember watching it when it first came out. Yes, that long ago lol Going on 32 seasons. Why do you think The Simpsons is one of the longest running shows? I had searched for the answer & one of the reasons was you don’t need to be crude to be funny. Now I haven’t watched it in a long time but they have to be doing something right.
  14. My native language is English as well. My paternal side is Dutch but we never learned the language nor did anything for our heritage. I have learned Spanish in school. Taught myself Sign Language. Dabbled in Japanese, Chinese, Korean. Words have always been fascinating to me!
  15. I'm not into brand names. I'm for getting a good deal as well as comfort. I get most of my clothes from garage sales or thrift shops. You find so many good deals there. Sometimes they are brand new! I also tend to wear my clothes out then they are cut up as rags. I'm not one who needs to have several pairs of something.
  16. @The Blackangel What did they use to get such a great shot of the Andromeda galaxy? I haven't tried astrophotography yet. Do you have filters & other lenses? I just bought some recently, tho haven't been able to use them too much. Either too cloudy or the moon is too full lol @killamch89 Only thing bad about the SE8 is it does tend to shake more. You need to stabilize it. But I do recommend Celestron. I've had good success with their customer service as well.
  17. While I have never travelled out of my country, USA, I've always been fascinated with other cultures. I've also been interested in learning new languages. I'm Dutch on my Dad's side. My mom did ancestry.com & found out we have ancestors from Scotland. I'm also the type who can take the step back & honor the unique heritages out there as well as learn from each other.
  18. Thank you all for the warm welcome :) @Jaicee I look forward to reading some of your topics as well. Looks like a nice, friendly bunch here!
  19. I sometimes browse them & view the forum to see if it's one I would like to join. I think it's a good way to help promote & help each other out. I've found some interesting forums I wouldn't have saw otherwise. Do you look at the Affiliates? If so, how many do you think you have joined as a result?
  20. A movie with Bruce Willis from 1997. I always liked him as an actor. I’ve watched it several times. It’s one of those movies that when you happen to see it on TV, you can’t help but watch lol It’s an Action, Sci-Fi type with comedy. Deals with the 4 elements: fire, water, earth, air. I got hooked on the song at the end: Little Light of Love by Eric Serra. Anybody watch this? Did you like it?
  21. Per the Stargate SG-1 topic, there was mention of Farscape as two of the actors are in both. I tried Farscape years ago but couldn't get into it. But I've also found that what I didn't like then, I sometimes like now. It reminds me of Star Trek with the different aliens. When we are done with the Stargate Franchise, have a ways to go still lol, this will be one I revisit & watch. Who has watched Farscape & what did you think about it? How does it compare with other Sci-Fi shows?
  22. The right time will be when one is ready to make the commitment. I like plans, routines. To know what's going to happen. I also like to set goals & do my best to work up to those goals.
  23. I don't wear a watch but I do keep it in my pocket especially when I'm on my walk. We don't do cell phones. While I don't mind some technology, there's too much that can go wrong. I rather just worry about a simple battery. Or even, a wind-up watch!
  24. We just got a new computer less than a year ago. It came with McAfee & their VPN. I'm honestly not impressed with it. I've wanted to try a VPN but maybe I'm doing it wrong as when it's on, I can't visit several forums. What VPN did you decide on?
  25. That's funny you have the same type of telescope, just smaller. I too love astronomy! Anytime we have a clear night, I'm outside. I just cannot resist. I was just out earlier tonight as I love watching the stars start to pop out. I have a folder with the constellations organized. When I learn something, I like learning it the right way.
