  2. Once I find the right people, I tend to talk endlessly about video games with them. It's nice finding folks who are into gaming. But you're right, it can be tough keeping a lid on it sometimes -- especially with people who aren't into gaming. Honestly, I find it a little harder connecting with people who aren't into games (though I still make an effort to, of course!).

  5. Anyone played Blasphemous yet? This is great news! I'm pretty sure @The Blackangel is a fan, right? https://thedeadbeatcritics.com/2020/07/21/free-dlc-expansion-comes-to-blasphemous-this-august/

  9. I reviewed the sequel to one of my all time favourite games. Have any of you played it yet? Anyone planning on checking it out? https://wegotthiscovered.com/gaming/deadly-premonition-2-blessing-disguise-review/
  10. The PlayStation Store Deal of the Week is a good one this week. I just pulled the trigger. https://wegotthiscovered.com/gaming/playstation-store-slashes-80-big-popular-ps4-game/
  11. I’m with @ARx182, when I’m playing a game, I’ve got to be “in the game” if that makes sense. 99% of the time, I just have what the music/audio of the game has to offer. When I play my own music, it tends to distract me. Everyone’s different, though, I guess.

  15. I'm not saying that there are no adults buying games on Switch, just that the overall average age of players skews slightly younger on Switch than XB1 and PS4. For example, there are about 2% more gamers aged 24 or lower on Switch than PS4/XB1 - which is interestingly lower than the average of other Nintendo consoles - but it makes a difference. In other words, though the Switch is Nintendo's most "adult" console yet, it still attracts a lot of younger gamers thanks to its family friendly nature/branding. What I was saying is that Indie devs can - and have - benefited from this. However, diminishing returns have now begun to set in due to the sheer amount of indies on the eShop. 16. I remember hearing from devs back when the Switch first launched, that if they released their indie game on the handheld/hybrid, it would sell around 10x as many copies there than on its PS4, XB1 and PC counterparts, respectively. I think this demand has seemingly dropped off now, but Switch is still one of the most viable platforms for indie devs, for sure. A lot of it comes down to the buying power of the core audience of the Switch. It's a younger demographic, and the buying power of younger kids/affluent parents is pretty strong compared to more mature gamers who often buy just AAA games. Also younger gamers often buy indie games that "look cool" rather than reading reviews, looking at Metacritic etc.
  17. I enjoyed the PS5 reveal and loved the breadth of the different games that Sony showed. The Demon's Souls Remake and Resident Evil VIIIage are two of my most anticipated games from the show. Was a bit disappointed that there was no Silent Hill announcement, though.
