  1. When I was a wee lad I actually played the heck out of Battlefront Classic. It was one of my favorite games, nowadays I play much more than just Battlefront but recently I bought it again. I've played the modern but there's just a lack of chaos. Part of the fun is the pure havoc that comes with the AI, which always spams as many grenades as possible. The game actually felt like a war game as you had to strategize in order to get anywhere. There were always multiple fronts in a map that needed to be broken thought which added a lot of choice into the mix. The modern games are less "large scale battles" and more personal duels which ruined the havoc, trench-like warfare that added so much to the depth to the game. I also think the classic maps are better, but keep in mind I'm biased. The classic maps always had a sense of scale, while keeping the points of interest close together to add to a battle-like astrosphere where you will always end up in a front of a battle. All 16 original maps are also really well-designed, as they all feel, look, and play differently from each other. For example, the Cloud City map have multiple hallways that lead into each other creating a city skyline that can effect the yard below viva above-ground support. As with Hoth, there are tunnels that lead into each other, however you also have massive AT-ATs and multiple trenches that make the map less of hallway skirmishes and more into a full frontal assault or a stealth mission. The final thing I want to say, is that the trooper based gameplay is more fun that playing as Darth Vader because you can't just run down everyone and survive. You actually have to use cation to gun down fifteen guys, instead of just winging it.
  2. Life Of P looks outstanding, it's probably the game I'm most interested in. High On Life was kind of annoying to me, the constant jokes about the toxic sludge just got on my nerves. I guess Atlas looked cool but I didn't really care about it.
  3. F He was a solid developer, maybe not the best, but his games came from the heart, and that is all that matters.
  4. Opening night is here! Look forward to 35 announced and unannounced games. Alright here the link.
  5. Alex Neil has launched a €6 billion dollar lawsuit towards Sony for overcharging for digital purchases. His statement is: "With this legal action I am standing up for the millions of UK people who have been unwittingly overcharged. We believe Sony has abused its position and ripped off its customers." 6. I do have a argument as to why digital is better. It has actually been a massive help to the indie industry and I'd argue it's what even allowed for the indie scene to actually exist as digital distribution has been easier, cheaper, and less risky for developers to utilize. Meaning that the indie scene itself really is only possible for digital distribution. Mainly because indie developers rarely have the money to print out copies of a game.
  7. I've played the remastered game on Reignited Trilogy. It's personally not my favorite but it's still a great deal of fun.
  8. So basically Microsoft somehow got Death Stranding onto PC Game Pass. It releases on August 23rd. Here's the proof:
  9. I been enjoying this game so far and want to see other people opinions on it. Here's the Season Seven trailer for anyone's that's interested. https://youtu.be/UJd72ykl-Ac
  10. It's a nice option to give to people. I'm not sure how good of a deal 25 dollars a month is, but it's an acceptable price for five people.

    Xbox Cloud Gaming

What are your options on the cloud? I'm quite interested in it, as I'm playing Naraka Bladepoint with it and it runs quite well. If this service continues to behave I can see it becoming the main way for me to Game.
  12. Well I didn't see this coming. Why the brand new moderators so fast?
  13. Grounded is a good contender. It's actually relatively fun and has interesting settings.
  14. So I've been binging though the Bond series. I'm on Casino Royale. I've enjoyed it so far, although they are silly films. What do you think of them?
  15. Metropolis, a beautiful expressionist piece that is one of the most influential flims ever made. It really made big scale movies achievable.
  16. COD, they've made around 20 games. It's no longer interesting or unique. I just want them to stop. Especially with WW2, it's been done to death.

    Xbox Studio Growth

So I've found something that puts into perspective on how drastic Xbox's first party studio growth has been. The above image is the studio list in 2023 if the purchase of activision goes though. That would be 35-36 studios depending on if Blizzard acquires another studio called Proletariat. The below image is the studio list in 2017. There's only 6 in that picture. What are your thoughts on this? Credit goes to Klebike on Twitter.
  18. Does anyone else play these types of games or am I the only one? They're the old school computer game genre that was popular in the 90s. Something like Sam And Max, Broken Age, or Grim Fandango are examples of these types of game.
  19. Activision only made one and they shut it down 2011ish, I think you can still play it but the online servers are dead.
  20. Blur, I've never played it but I can tell that it's a fun game. A combat filled racing game is something I've been wanting and Blur looks like it's exactly what I wanted.
  21. Yeah that's fair, I just was trying to think and was curious as too what other people opinions were. For me it's Double Fine, I've played quite a few games of theirs and every one I've enjoyed. Stuff like Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Day Of The Tectacle, and Psychonauts 2 have fantastic stories and characters. And while most of those games have so-so gameplay they're just so well thought out. My close second would be ID software. Doom is a personal favorite series of mine and even Quake was quite fun. They just do well with FPS games in general.

  23. Something like Hellblade 2, the first Hellblade was fantastic and the trailers for it so far look really impressive. I'm guessing it'll release in late 2023 though.
  24. I've noticed a problem in that Xbox has bought a ton of studios and yet is having a problem with exclusives. 2022 alone only has smaller titles as exclusives. While I'm sure the games coming out will be good (there is Pentiment, Grounded 1.0, Scorn, High On Life, As Dusk Falls) there seems to be a lack of AAA titles. Does anyone else have a problem with this?
  25. What is your favorite video game studio?
