  1. If that map was accurate, that would mean that Alaska was more than half the size of the US and Canada combined. And there is no on on earth who would think that Greenland is bigger than South America as well as roughly equal in size to Africa, except those moronic flat earthers.
  2. I have family that are Mexican. They're not blood, but they are family nonetheless. I have talked about her with them, and the mother of the family (whom I call my sister) told me that her father encountered her. He saw and heard her, and it changed him for the rest of his life. She said he just wasn't the same man after that. Unfortunately I never got to meet him, as he died before we had even met. But they have told me a lot of the stories they are aware of. If I could speak Spanish, that would help things, but I can barely say "Hello" in Spanish.
  3. There are a couple of times in RDR2 where the computer takes over while you're riding, and the music plays, and it's just absolutely beautiful.
  4. The only way the two could even remotely be related, is if someone who had been suicidal for a decent amount of time was found dead and the game was paused in lavender town. The game had no influence on their decision to finally end it. It was merely a coincidence and nothing more. But once the two things are noticed together, the story spreads, the myth grows, and the next thing you know, the game caused it after they shit out 47 flying frogs.
  5. I've been in a few that were beginner/novice caves. Missouri is full of them. We have caves that are tourist spots, caves for spelunking (that's still the official term here) and caves underneath houses. There are caves here that would make the movie The Descent look like a brisk walk on a forest trail. People have completely vanished in caves and their bodies have never been found here. Some solo, others in groups. There are a lot of mines too. We tend to refer to them as man-made caves, or fake caves. People go down in them a lot too. I've been in several. They're nothing too spectacular. They're actually pretty boring. There's new cave systems being found all the time. Either blasting opens one up, or a rockslide busts through and opens one up. Either way we have so many, that a lot of obsessive spelunkers have moved to Missouri for that very purpose. Simply because they can't get bored. My girl said that one of her professors in college was a guy from Paris. He told her one day that he had gone on a cave tour with some people, and with the way our caves twist and turn, he would have much rather gotten lost in the catacombs than one of our caves.
  6. I hate cooking. I'm a great cook, but can't stand doing it. Also, I rarely eat any form of actual meal more than once or at most twice a week, so there's no real reason for me to cook. And by actual meal, I mean fast food.
  7. Are you meaning neutron stars, black holes, pulsars, or quasars?
  8. No interest. I've studied daemonology for around 30 years, and know when I'm encountering something that I can't fight. Also, when the dogs sleep with me, they tend to not show any kind of reaction that would reveal anything. They're just happy to be on the bed.
  9. I used my scanner to copy these pages that go more in depth about the story.
  10. I present you with the Balamb Hotel.
  11. This first one is a video I made, and I'm sure you'll recognize the ballad in it.
  12. I've been to 2 Red Wings games, and the violence that erupted when we won, was insane. It would make soccer fans proud. I was also attacked in a bar almost 20 years ago, because some dickhead couldn't stand the fact that I was cheering for a different team than him. And that my team was beating his team. So these days, I prefer to just watch at home. Also you get a better view of the game from the TV than you do from the nosebleeds which is where the handicap section is.
  13. You would be broken hearted. There are no polar bears in Antarctica. They live in the northern arctic. Now as for my choice, it's a difficult choice. Where in Africa would influence my choice. Antarctica would be good for me, simply because of how cold it is. I don't do well in heat. Our AC went out last night, and the heat got up to somewhere between 70-75 (21.1C-23.8C) and I passed out due to how hot it was. I need it between 60-65 at the hottest. But going on an African safari to see all the life out there in their natural habitat would be the opportunity of a lifetime.
  14. I'm not xtian so I don't celebrate xmas anyway. As for my birthday, it's never meant shit to me. So I can do without both.
  15. Yes. I put in either an American Dad DVD or a Family Guy DVD. I can't sleep in silence, because my mind gets to racing, which keeps me awake. The sound from the characters talking distracts my mind from running over it's own thoughts and worries and lets it relax. The light has never been an issue for me since I was a child. Due to night terrors, I always slept with a light on anyway. Call me crazy, but I swear that my master bathroom is a gateway, just due to the things I have seen in there at night. We used to leave the door open, but the lights in there off. Now we have that reversed. Lights on, door closed. I still see shit during the night, but not like I did before.
  16. You don't know what she is?
  17. On that point, I always heard that Spanish and French are the easiest two languages to learn. Spanish being the easier of the two. If that's the case, then I just suck at languages, because I've been using Rosetta Stone to try to learn Spanish, and it's going incredibly slow. I'm not learning jack shit. Eventually I'll learn it. I may be old and gray by that time, but I will learn it.
  18. I have no idea how, but it works on the Lite now.
  19. The Blackangel

    PS2.

Dumpster diving for food, almost freezing to death in winter, soul crushing boredom. And all of it for a span of 3 years. Yeah, it sucked.
  20. You would make a good Homie The Clown.
  21. Everyone always picks countries with the big draws. UK for Stonehenge. Egypt for the pyramids. China for the great wall. You never really hear about some of the smaller and more obscure countries. I never would have even thought of Croatia, as I don't even know what's there that would entice me to take the trip.
  22. My heritage is a few less than you guys. On my mothers side it would be dominantly German and to a lesser extent Irish and Scottish. On my fathers side is 100% Scottish Celt. More than 70% of my entire heritage is from the Highlands. It's why I have spent the last several years searching for someone who is fluent that would be willing to teach me Scottish Gaelic. So far either no one knows it, or they're just not interested despite the fact that I'm willing to pay.
  23. It has broadened my horizons and introduced to many great games, that are for the most part out of my comfort zone. In gaming I have always heavily favored fantasy games. Zelda has always topped that list. But since being here I have been introduced to games like RDR2, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Layers Of Fear, Cuphead, and Blasphemous, just to name a few. There are others that I have won in the bidding, that I had no idea existed, but upon watching the trailer for them enjoyed the hell out of the game. I have found countless games that I otherwise would have never known existed, many that are genre's that I have never enjoyed before. RDR2 being the obvious example.
  24. I always heard that English is the hardest language to learn as a second language. But if that's so, then why is English the international language of trade?
  25. There is a game I play a lot, where the protagonist dies in the end. After playing as that protagonist, in a world gone crazy, I actually cried. I felt like I had lost a piece of myself that I have spent the last damn near 40 years searching for. But, since I can easily just start playing the game again, I can always get back to that protagonist. I'm giving no names of any kind because I don't like spoilers, and even though it's an old game, there may be someone here who develops an inquisitive mind and decides they want to check it out. But, either way, when all is said and done, I love being a classic gamer.
