That's fantastic news! As a fan of Silent Hill, I'll have to go try this game out for myself. Also, congratulations to Konami for finally doing something smart for once.

I would hope so. PS4 was my first time dipping my toes into the world of PlayStation and I played Infamous: New Light first, and THEN it was that I played Infamous: Second Son. Both of these games were fantastic and I would absolutely love another.

killamch89 reacted to Kane99 in Resistance Series ever making a comeback?
The Resistance series was a huge IP for Sony back in the PS3, PSP and PS Vita eras, but fans haven't seen anything new in the series since 2012's Resistance: Burning Skies which released on the PS Vita. But, there hasn't been a main console exclusive since Resistance 3 back in 2011. Do you think we're due for a sequel or a reboot maybe? Maybe they will remaster the series or remake them, that seems to be a big thing with studios lately.
Anyway, what would you like to see the Resistance series go? Will it ever come back?

Also, you can't really compare the two, due to their setting. RDR2 is set in 1899, while GTA5 is set in present day. So for the simple reason of the technology available to the characters, there's not a fair way to compare them. We may as well compare Zelda to Metroid, or NFS to FIFA.

That's awesome! Why don't you get them Smash Ultimate although Mario Party is a good multiplayer game as well? Mine's also an OLED and I do play quite a bit of Tears Of The Kingdom.

killamch89 got a reaction from Dismal_Bliss in What are your thoughts on AI? Does it worry you?
Not yet. For the most part, AI is just a gimmick and mainly hype - It's not going to suddenly take over ever aspect of our life. Most of the AI models aren't even refined enough to do the basics without supervision.

killamch89 reacted to Ravenfreak in What was your favourite TV show as a kid?
For live action shows my favorites were Tales From the Crypt, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Malcolm in the Middle, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. For animated shows Rugrats and Teen Titans were my top two favorite shows. Rugrats was originally my favorite of all time until Teen Titans came out in 2003.

I've loved that movie since it came out and I was a little girl. I had the hugest crush on Suzanne Snyder. She played Debbie Stone in the movie. But it was absolutely hilarious. My parents didn't want to let me watch it, so I stayed up until midnight, and snucked downstairs, and laughed my ass off through the whole movie. It's one of my favorites to this day. Damn it, now I want to watch it.
Something interesting, is that I met Suzanne Snyder several years ago at Crypticon. She's really sweet. We actually talked for quite a while.

killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel in Cult following games?
The first one that comes to mind for me, is the Red Dead franchise. That includes all 3 games. The fan base is extremely loyal. Trust me on that one. But there are those that look specifically for fan made games. For example I have three.
The Legend Of Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets
The Legend Of Zelda Goddess Of Wisdom
The Legend Of Zelda Parallel Worlds
While a lot of people stick to those kind of games, I no longer play them. With Goddess Of Wisdom, after six years I had only made it to the third temple. The difficulty is beyond extreme to the point that trying to play it is just cruel. It was literally designed to not be beaten.
But as @killamch89 pointed out, Zelda has a massive cult following. I have been playing the franchise since its inception, and have only abandoned 2 games that I can think of. Windwaker, and Twilight Princess. I refuse to play Windwaker simply due to the graphics. With TP, while it had beautiful graphics, it was just massively overdone. A very poor attempt at an open world Zelda.
The Mario franchise has so damn many entries and it's not just a franchise anymore. It's a world that literally offers you pretty much anything you can think of. It has so many branches that even trees are saying it needs pruning. There are so damn many, that I wouldn't be willing to even try to list all the games. It's beyond massive.

killamch89 reacted to HowHammerYou in PS5 Pro Might Feature AI Upscaling, AMD Hints
Upscaling is about the only thing I will tolerate AI doing. I'm almost completely opposed to AI, because it's a replacement for the human mind and eventually humanity in general. I'm reminded of a quote from The Matrix, "This was the peak of your civilization. I say your civilization because as soon as we began making your decisions for you, it became our civilization." But whatever, just as long as they don't allow it to learn outside its programming.
I was planning to buy a PS5 Pro this year, but Sony recently made a very strange statement regarding the PS5. They said it was in the latter part of its life cycle already. Now the PS5 is just over 3 years old, so if it's already past the halfway point, that would indicate the PS6 releasing in 2026 instead of the previously rumored 2028 release. So why would I buy a new console now if they're just going to release another one in roughly 2 years? Plus I'm certain that the PS6 will be getting all of the PS5 games as (possibly 8K) remasters. I guess I'll be playing Elden Ring Complete Edition Remastered and Demon's Souls Remake Remastered on the PS6.🤣
Really, Sony's statement about the PS5 reminds me of when the president of SEGA said, "The Sega Saturn isn't our future." and killed interest in that console.

killamch89 reacted to Ravenfreak in Paranormal Activity video game coming in 2026
I loved the movies and will be checking this game when it comes out. I've always been a fan of paranormal movies, and thought the movies did a pretty good job of depicting a haunting. (I believe in ghosts but that's for a different thread.) I'll have to tell my wife about this since she loved those movies too. Her and my mother in law tagged along with me when the first one came out and they freaked out but it didn't scare me lol. The game on the other hand will probably freak me out more.

killamch89 reacted to Ravenfreak in All Adult Swim games will be removed from video game storefronts by May
I'm hoping people will start to back these up on the Internet Archive then. This is another example of why digital only for the future is not the way to go, eventually no one will be able to legally obtain these games in the future unless you happened to buy them while they were still available to purchase. I never played any of these Adult Swim titles, but it's still a shame to see games being delisted.

I'm not surprised either. Microsoft seems to not really care about employees, but at the same time, buying Blizzard brought in a whole new payroll so I guess in a roundabout way I can understand why they did it. They didn't want to have to pay so many people for shit they were already doing. They just wanted the legal rights to the games that couldn't be challenged of withdrawn. They don't care about much of anything else.

I'm going to wait until it's released but I'm also excited for this. I remembered the original Battlefront games on PS2 - I loved them and the fact that I'll get to replay these games again brings back great memories. I just hope EA doesn't screw this up somehow.

killamch89 got a reaction from The Blackangel in What's your most anticipated video games of 2024?
I swear that I'm more eager to play indie developed games than games from triple A companies because they're actually putting a lot of effort into their games. Most of the bigger developers are hopping on this Live Service train and I despise it.

killamch89 reacted to Reality vs Adventure in Do you have any favorite game developer?
At this point, I also agree with you there. Game developers have a bad reputation when it comes to the way they treat employees. Ubisoft may be my favorite game developer, but their leadership needs a change for the betterment of employees. Ubisoft does have labor unions so I expect there are things in place to protect employees, so as a conscious consumer, to me that isn't grounds to boycott them. They have the tools needed to aid employees. Sounds shallow on my part, but if their union isn't protecting them, they should go on strike or vote for a new one that will. If they get oppressed at that point by the union and the company, then that's when consumers may be the answer to boycott. I don't know what all has happened there the past couple years so I don't know if things got better or not. If a developer had rampant abuse against employees without a labor union, then they may need some intervention to help them.

killamch89 reacted to HowHammerYou in Forgotten horror games that deserve remakes or reboots
A forgotten horror game from an otherwise very popular horror series: Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. It's so forgotten that Capcom forgot to release it physically when they ported their old RE games to PS4 and Xbox One. It was the only RE game remaster to be released digital-only. It's probably my favorite or second favorite game in the series, and I really hope it winds up being Capcom's next remake.

killamch89 reacted to HowHammerYou in What stopped you from being too much into gaming?
For me, it's a variety of reasons:
First, I don't have as much time anymore. Second, more and more often, games are disappointing or releasing in incomplete states. Third, games just aren't designed for my generation anymore. I first realized that when I bought BOTW and saw they had managed to shoehorn smartphones into a Zelda game as an integral gameplay element. Fourth, games these days are too big. The open-world monogenre has turned video games into massive timesinks that take hundreds of hours to finish, and I'm just not into that.

killamch89 reacted to PGen98 in What features would you like to see in the next generation of gaming consoles ?
I just want to see them keep physical media alive.  I know that's asking far too much for today's generations, but the collector in me hates that we're going to lose physical games very soon.  I know most of them are essentially just serving as keys to download the rest of the game, but there's something about owning a physical copy of a game that makes it feel more certain.  I own this, it's mine, it's right here.  Digital games can be gone in the blink of an eye.  It's entirely improbable that physical media continues for another generation, but it's the one thing I hope for.
