What could provide a better sense of closure than ending slides?

A lot of people complain that after a long RPG, ending slides feel kind of half-ass, and do not really offer much closure.

I think a better alternative would just be a series of “X years later …” cut-scenes or even small playable sequences for different characters/factions.

What ideas do you have for offering more closure when finishing this type of game?

Mass Effect Andromeda did it right. It doesn't end abruptly after the final conflict you get to experience an epilogue as a player.

RDR2 also had that with Marston after the death of Arthur Morgan. I thought it was a nice touch which linked the story to the original RDR.

BioShock 1 offers one hell of good player epilogue with the way it straightened up details about the protagonist life. I'd like to have more games copy such pattern.
