What were the most groundbreaking arcade games?

It's one of those games that stands the test of time. People have enjoyed it for decades. Plus I think a tennis arcade game came out too, so very similar I guess. Either way, it's still a game that's enjoyable among many.

Exactly and if you allow me and it's possible to get into playing the game till today, it's something that I can take up always.

Asteroids sure does look very funny. It's the tiny triangle space ship size that amuses me whenever I get to see and play the game back then.

There is a grandpa living in my neighborhood that still plays Asteroids till now. It's the only game he's interested in playing.

The old grandpa probably really needed to still play what made sense to him when he was likely younger. It's like how my father only plays chess board games now.

Defender and Centipede are two good old arcade games that also set up good foundation for some of the alien shooting games we have today.

I don't seem to have any experience or information on the arcade game Centipede. What's the gameplay like?

Certainly! Groundbreaking arcade games include "Pong," "Space Invaders," "Pac-Man," and "Donkey Kong," each revolutionizing gameplay and influencing future titles significantly.

Pong was definitely groundbreaking, especially for popularizing video games as a cultural phenomenon. But there were others, like Space Invaders, which introduced high-score systems, and Pac-Man, which appealed to a broader audience. It's amazing how simple ideas turned into timeless icons, don’t you think?
