I think it’s fascinating when iconic characters are placed in new settings. It not only pays homage to the original but also challenges both the actor and the audience to rethink what that character means in a modern context. When done right, it can deepen the lore while keeping the character relevant

I do like to see iconic characters placed in new settings and do not feel that it is a bad thing to see them do this. Most actors like a change or a challenge and this often gives them that. Not only that, but we as the viewer also get to see them face those challenges and often pull them off.

When Arnie came back as the Terminator, it wasn't the exact same model he was playing, I assume. But they were extremely dire reboots that fans soon detested. So I think even he felt like he wasted his time.

It’s sickening. Beetlejuice 2 was an abomination with little to no relation to the original that was filmed 30 FUCKING YEARS AGO. And don’t even get me started on Nosferatu. I mean what’s next? Are they going to remake The Wizard Of Oz? Who’s going to play Dorothy? Lucy Hale? Jennifer Lawrence? Sandra Bullock? Emma Watson? The list is extensive. It’s even moreso than male actors. Then we have the scarecrow, tin man, cowardly lion, and the wizard.

Does anyone actually want to see something like that? How about Gone With The Wind, or Casablanca? Maybe we should remake all the Dirty Harry movies, or everything Sen Connery was ever in.
