Heatman Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Personally, I don't have any knowledge of how to use bow and arrow. I have tried learning how to but it's not working out. Even in playing video games, I struggle with using bow and arrow. How does someone become good with using bow and arrow?
killamch89 Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 Think of archery like leveling up in a game: you wouldn’t try a raid boss at level 1, right? First you unlock “basic tutorial” (proper stance and draw), then grind some low-level targets (close, big bullseyes). As you hit each milestone, you unlock new “skills” (longer range, smaller targets).
The Blackangel Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 The first thing you need to find out how you’re going to aim the arrow. Will you use the pins on a compound bow, or sight down the arrow? I sight down the arrow. So if I ever planned on getting another bow, I would look for a recurve as opposed to having to take pins and whatnot off the bow. Something else you need to consider is the draw weight and breakover. This will make or break your ability in drawing your bow So, yeah. I know how to use a bow.
Shortie Posted May 11, 2025 Posted May 11, 2025 The only time I ever used a bow and arrow was as a kid and it was a toy bow and arrow. I can't say that I have ever used a real bow and arrow and would be worried about doing so. I hear you have to be quite strong to use one.
The Blackangel Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 The last bow I had was a 61 pound dreaw weight, but had a featherlight breakover. So while it took a bit of power to initially draw the bow, it was really easy to hold that draw due to how light the breakover was.
