StaceyPowers
I started Bioshock Infinite the other day, and so far I love it—except for one thing, which is the complete inability to make manual saves. I know there are some technical reasons why developers sometimes do this, but does this kind of thing drive anyone else crazy?
Katri Marcell
I completely forgot about that. Man automatic saves are a pain when you want to test things out or you're a rookie. Could you imagine Skyrim with automatic saves only? That must be exhausting!
Shortie861
Being that I was brought up when Sega Master System and Super Nintendo were around, manual saving was always something that was drummed into me when I was playing a game so that I didn't lose my progress in the game. With the way gaming as changed it's more and more frustrating to not be able to manually save but instead have to reach a checkpoint for it to save instead and if your game crashes before you get to that checkpoint then I guess, oh well! I would love to see manual saving come back and be available in more games, it would be amazing to see if I am honest and would definitely leave me less frustrated when playing games! Alyxx
I prefer manual saving. Autosaving can be a bitch since the frequency of the saves is left up to the devs and not the player, meaning the game controls your time and not the other way around. Joant73
Yea its definitely frustrating, I can see restricting it in certain situations like mid battle or something but it should definitely be available generally. I always feel weird shutting a game down when I haven't manually saved. Alyxx
Katri Marcell
Are there that many manual save games out there? I can literally think of none 😄
Alexander.
Yes, it is frustrating. Auto-saving can be a pain in the backside because the frequency of saves is left up to the developers of the game. Personally, I prefer manual saving as you have control over the time you spend playing the video game. Many of the new games only have the option to auto-save which is something I don't like doing.
