Trophy Hunting

Recommended Posts

Posted

A lot of people play games just for the game and some people play for trophies and achievements, I personally play to have fun but I'm also a trophy hunter. I have 55 platinums.

But does it matter? Do you game to just game or for trophies or both?

It depends on the game and trophies. If its something that will require endless hours of grinding I won't bother with it. But if its some classic game and then I will go out of my way to plat it.

I don't play the games for achievements and trophies. I play the video games the way I want to have fun. I think it's the most important thing when you are gaming.

I have never actually looked up trophies and what was needed to get a specific one. However, I do have a bit of a completionists mindset when it comes to my favorite games, so by trying to collect and complete everything I often end up getting a lot of trophies along the way.

I've only grinded for the trophies in Binding of Isaac. I had 100% completion until the last DLC came out, that's when things got rusty 😢

Usually when new DLC comes out it adds trophies meaning you no longer have 100%

I"m one of those people the play the game just to have fun.  If it doesn't have any entertainment value, then it isn't worth it to buy the game to begin with (in my opinion).

Now, if part of the fun is trying to get the trophies and achievements for that game, then I'll probably go ahead and do it.  But I don't get a game just to try to get the trophy.

Yy, so much for my one perfect game on Steam. I don't have the patience anymore to grind for the new challenges and whatnot

There's a program called SAM (Steam achievement manager.)

I wouldn't go to that extend, can't risk my library getting VAC banned over some achievements

Sometimes my preferences changes depending on the kind of game that I'm playing at the moment but generally, I most have at least a sense or feeling of fun catching in any game, it's a must.
