  1. That would probably be my question as well. Excellent answer! Taken with the previous answer, this prompts my next question. Are you a Trekkie?
  2. Btw, can I jump into this game without playing its predecessors? Hahah. Kinda makes me think of the two weight loss diets which worked for me: food poisoning and a jaw injury.
  3. What is your favourite science fiction movie of all time?
  4. which type of curry? Red curry is my favourite.
  5. How much time on average do you wait between finishing an amazing game and playing it again? Do you start again immediately? Or do you wait weeks? Months? Years? Is there a period of time which you’ve found is ideal in terms of keeping the game fresh/getting more out of it the second time around? I feel like when I finish Bioshock Infinite (currently on my first playthrough), I will just want to dive right back into it again. But I don’t want to do it too soon/often and “get used to” the amazing environment.
  6. What moments in video games have left a lasting impact on you from an emotional point of view? The one that sticks with me the most is Joel and Ellie watching the giraffes in The Last of Us. Another one I think of is Morrigan’s reaction in Dragon Age: Origins when I gifted her a mirror.
  7. What micro-organism would be cutest if it were blown up to the size of a cat?
  8. What game have you played which scared you the most? This could mean jumping out of your seat in surprise when an enemy jumped you in a creepy environment, or in terms of concepts which you mulled over hours later which were just downright disturbing.
  9. Kind of a broad topic, but what is the most innovative game you ever played? This could be in terms of game play mechanics or any other aspect.
  10. Do you ever research stuff that interests you in video games? Like for example: -After playing Myst as a kid, I got really into learning about physics and cosmology. -After playing The Last of Us, I read up on real-life cordyceps, and also learned about the history of Molotov cocktails.
  11. If you could get a 100% certain answer to any question in the world, what would it be and why?
  12. What is your favourite article of clothing, whether on yourself or others?
  13. Fellow insomnia sufferer here. What fixed it for me is gaming for two hours before bed each night! How do you deal with yours?
  14. What question do you most want someone to ask you on this thread?
  15. That the dinosaurs I've pictured without feathers all my life may have had them. Fencing. You? Macaroni and cheese. What's yours? Midnight until 1 in the morning. That's when I feel my best physically and psychologically most days. You? Elephant.
  16. If you had to be any personal hygiene item for a day, which would you be and why?
  17. If you went to the Smithsonian, which museum was your favourite?
  18. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this up for me! Everyone mentions Spec Ops The Line to me. I think that'll have to be one of my next purchases.
  19. Are there any games you played which you thought about on practically a daily basis long after you completed them? I thought about The Last of Us at least once a day for about a year after I finished it. While I was playing that game, it really did feel like I had this whole other life and lived this amazing story.
  20. What is the oldest game you still play on a regular basis? For me it is Quake III Arena, which came out in 1999.
  21. If you’ve seen any of my posts over the past two weeks, you probably know I’m currently obsessed with Bioshock Infinite (I’m not quite done yet, so nobody give me any spoilers). Anyway, I saw some criticism of the game somewhere involving it not being much of a challenge from a tactical standpoint, and being quite repetitious in terms of combat encounters. I could see where they were coming from, but I couldn’t see being negative about the game because of it. The strengths of the game are its setting, characters and story. The combat (to me) serves the purpose mainly of increasing immersion and also giving me time to process new information. Obviously what I look for in a shooter is a lot different from what that person does. Then again, I am not sure I would consider Bioshock Infinite a traditional shooter anyway. The shooting is an element of the game, not its main purpose for existing. But if I were playing a multiplayer arena-style game without a plot, I’d be very focused on mechanics, and would demand something tactically more varied/interesting. It got me wondering what everyone here looks for in a FPS game?
  22. Is there any video game you’ve played (or watched) which has sent you into a fit of tears? I can’t say this has happened to me, but I think that’s because my emotions go on hold when I’m concentrating on something like playing a game. (and I’m asking here specifically for games which made you cry because of story/characters, not because you found them hard to beat)
  23. What video game have you played which had the most compelling storyline? No spoilers please. For me, it is currently tied between The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite (I'm still in the middle of the latter, but I think I am closing in on the end soon).
  24. Writing, driving or gaming. How about for you?
  25. Banned for saying "lol" while banning a user for saying "lol." (this thread is very meta)
