When Are Things Just Not Meant to Be No Matter How Hard We Try?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
I have always been someone who will stick at something if I feel I can be successful, sometimes I have stuck at things for too long which in turn make life worse than it should be. Over the years I have learned when it is time to stop and call it a day when something is not working. Two things my dad always used to say You come into the world with nothing and you are going to leave with nothing, so just enjoy. Don't get too busy making a living you forget to make a life. -
I used to be team bath for the longest time, would love having a bath and relaxing in the water, was always a great way to melt the stress away. Unfortunately, my health deteriorated and I now struggle to get in and out of the bath without issue. Due to this, I have now had to start taking showers all the time. I will admit, I do feel a lot better after a shower and in some cases cleaner too.

Most of the drugs or medications that I have taken for things over the years have usually worked but just recently, I had been suffering very bad headaches at the back of my head that were like a stabbing, burning pain. I was told by my doctor to not take ibuprofen as it was affecting my kidney's and instead was told to take paracetamol and if the pain was bad enough, codeine for the pain. A few weeks ago I had a bad headache, same pain, burning and stabbing and neither paracetamol or codeine touched it, worried I contacted my doctor and they have instead prescribed me with Naproxen which seems to be working at the moment.

I have heard of honey being used for other reasons health wise but never for treating a wound so this is new to me. Honey is well known for it's healing and as long as you don't have too much, it is good for you too. I may have to try honey on an open wound at some point when needed just to see how it goes.

When was the last time you took some time off social media?
Shortie replied to Heatman's topic in General Chat
I can't remember the last time I took some time away from social media, I would say that over the last year or so I have used social media a lot less with YouTube being something I use a lot more now rather than social media. I don't think I have ever taken a solid break from social media, just ended up using it less. -
I would always go myself or take my kids to the barbers for haircuts but when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit and all hairdressers closed for a good while, me and my daughter found ways to be able to cut each others hair in a way that it would not get messed up and would give us the style we wanted. I also learned how to cut my three sons hair throughout that time from home. Now me, my daughter and my three sons all have our hair cut at home rather than going to the hairdressers.

I wouldn't say that I have had too many serious illnesses but I have had a few over the years. Back in 2010, I remember becoming very unwell just a week or so before Christmas, it was the same year we got snowed in and I fell ill with a fever, sore throat and a bad cough. Sleeping was difficult due to the cough and also the pain of my sore throat and eventually I had to go to the doctors to get help, turned out I had a severe chest and throat infection and it was lucky I got the help when I did. Back in 2018 I got the flu and it was a pretty bad case of the flu, I was ill for over a week not able to do anything I would have done normally. Back last year I ended up very ill in May, sort throat, aches, and a few other issues that I had to get help for and the last time I was seriously unwell, was last year in October when I caught COVID. I was unwell for around a week and lost my sense of taste for around 3 weeks.

I have in the past fell asleep on the couch if there have been days where I have been feeling unwell and I have laid down and fell asleep, I also remember when I went to sleepovers at friends houses when I was younger, sometimes we would sleep on the floor. Both the couch and the floor are two places that I could never sleep more than I would have to. I much prefer to sleep in a bed.

Got my ass kicked by my baby bearded dragon
Shortie replied to The Blackangel's topic in General Chat
I am so sorry to hear about this. You can never be too careful when it comes to certain things, I have done it many times as I would imagine others have as well where I have assumed that I would be safe stepping on something and the next moment, you realize you weren't. I do hope you are feeling much better soon @The Blackangel -
I used to take life as it came and never really looked at what I had and how lucky I am to have what I have. As I have gotten older and gone through some things in life, I now look at what I have and how lucky I am to have what I have and the life I have. People will always put you down for something but if you are happy in your life, what others say and think should never matter.

I used to eat quite a bit when I was younger but since getting older, I am quite happy to eat smaller bits for meals and such when I feel hungry and I need to eat something. My three sons tend to eat a lot and I am always telling them they eat me out of house and home, I don't mind it though, just happy they are eating.

Would you rather be a popular influencer or a popular politician?
Shortie replied to Heatman's topic in General Chat
If I was given the choice of both of these and I had to make a decision, I would be more inclined to choose the influencer choice than the political choice. I am not someone who is into politics, I know what I need to know and that is it. I couldn't be someone who was popular in politics but as an influencer, that is much different. -
When it comes to marrying someone, I feel intelligence is important and looks should be something to look at but they should not be the most important. I would be quite happy marrying someone who was intelligent and good looking, of course, looks do fade with age and that is going to happen to us all.

I always remember at school, teachers used to give us crossword puzzles to do that were related to the lesson we were in for a bit of fun, I would always try to complete the crossword but much of the time, struggled. Even now, I can't get into crossword puzzles and tend to stay away from them. Word searches are a whole different story for me though!

Is Keeping an Open Mind Always Beneficial or Can It Lead to Issues?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
Being open-minded is not a bad thing and is very much beneficial but there are times when having an open mind could lead to some issues. I have always been afraid myself to have too much of an open mind as you never know how people could react or how they will treat you going forward. -
I get asked this a lot and my answer often shocks people. I have never travelled on a plane. I have always had a fear of planes and hearing of disasters involving planes has always increased that fear so I have never flown on a plane. Now that I am older, I do one day want to fly on a plane, even if it is for a small journey just to say I have experienced it.

I loved Overwatch and played so much of it. Hearing that we were going to get an Overwatch 2 that was going to be free-to-play, as you can imagine, I was excited for that but now, since the release of Overwatch 2 and the mess it has turned into, it's rare I end up even wanting to play Overwatch now. Such a shame that a great game turned into the mess it is now.

New Sonic Game Leaks, Looks Like Fall Guys - Is it real though?
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I had heard that this was real a few days ago I read on another forum I am part of. Has this been confirmed to be true? I enjoy games like Fall Guys and seeing a Sonic game similar to Fall Guys does have me interested. -
Google might be leaking private gaming videos - oops!
Shortie replied to CharlesK's topic in Gaming News
This is very true. Google being such a big company though, so many are less likely to move away from them and in most cases, have no clue that they are doing things like this. -
I remember seeing the trailer and will admit, it looks good! Nothing about a release date yet but beta tests have taken place. Keeping an eye on this one! It's something a little different to see a Marvel game that is an FPS!

Apex Legends postpones competition amid hacking concerns
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I had no clue this happened but that is shocking! Of all the places for it to happen, it was two people taking part in a tournament. I lost interest in Apex Legends back last year and many who I speak to have said about how they don't enjoy the game as much as they used to and that Respawn doesn't seem to be bringing in too many new ideas to keep the game fresh. -
Nintendo Has Acquired Shiver Entertainment From Embracer Group
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I would have thought the same thing myself but with Nintendo, I could see them bringing a board game to something such as the Nintendo Switch as a party type game. Monopoly is one of the board games that I know of that has been successful not just as a board game but also as a video game as well. -
Activision opens up new studio called Elsewhere Entertainment
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
When you see Microsoft close other studios down and then proceed to open up more, you do start to wonder whether or not these studios will be around for long. I don't have high hopes for this studio, I guess the big question is, how long before they close it? -
Fallout 1 and 2 won’t be getting remade, Todd Howard says
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Trusting Bethesda to remake Fallout 1 and 2 would be a bad move. I am all for remasters of these games but I feel if they are going to be done, they need to be done right or not at all. It's probably a good thing they won't be getting remade.
