I missed so much of the Summer Game Fest this year and I am still catching up on things that were announced! From what I have seen so far, there were some amazing games announced, even some I was not expecting at all, very excited for future releases and to see where things go from here in the gaming world.

Check out what Sony thinks gaming and tech will look like in 10 years.
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Seeing how far we have come with technology and gaming already, I can only imagine what the future holds for both gaming and technology in the years to come. I will admit, this does look awesome and with the technology and ways to play video games we have now, some of this may very well be possible in the next 10 years. -
Google might be leaking private gaming videos - oops!
Shortie replied to CharlesK's topic in Gaming News
If I had a friend who showed me a leak for a game, I would be very cautious about sharing it anywhere online. I know that game developers tend to take things very seriously when they are leaked and I would hate to be in some kind of lawsuit with a game developer of any kind because I wanted to be the one to leak something about a game. -
How did I miss this? This is interesting. I will admit, I prefer to use YouTube for watching videos and uploading my own videos and watching YouTube Shorts on the platform as well has been something I do a lot of now too. This could be interesting if you have some time to kill and want to do something to pass that time.

I absolutely love these consoles and love that they are releasing more options for gamers to choose from. The Series X in white and the other one (can't remember the name) I do like the look of. I have yet to upgrade to either a Series S or X so this may be something I look into when they release later this year.

Someone has just spent over $1m on a CS2 skin… Would you if you could?
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I could never spend $1 million on a skin in a game at all. There are so many things you could do with $1 million, invest it in something to make a profit, pay off bills and debts, buy something you always dreamed of, even buy your own home or set up a business. To throw $1 million away on something like that is crazy! -
It is so sad to see that video games that provide entertainment are being brought up in lawsuits as an excuse to blame something other than the issue that is the reason these shootings happen. The mental health system is not great and because of that, so many slip through the net and don't get caught, this results in shootings, many of which we see quite a lot. I feel that video games are an easy way to blame the shootings on something so they don't have to do something about the mental health issues that are getting worse all the time.

I do believe that competitive gaming will continue to gain mainstream recognition but maybe not all games depending on the root the developer takes when creating and releasing new games. Fortnite is one game that jumps out at me that I believe will continue to gain mainstream recognition in terms of competitive gaming and that is because they are always bringing new things to the game that change how you play the game to earn that win.

Hosting a yearly gaming tournament between popular sites
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
Hosting a tournament between popular gaming sites such as VGR here would be an awesome idea, it wouldn't even have to be for any kind of physical prizes but instead maybe digital prizes. I personally would love to join a tournament like this just for fun, I feel it could bring communities together and bring a lot of fun into the games. -
Ever try to do random challenges in games?
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
I haven't attempted to do random challenges in games for a long time, can't even remember the very last time I did do something like that with friends. I always remember on Black Ops and Black Ops 2, me and my friends would play against bots and would set up challenges to do no scopes on Nuketown. I used to love the into prone option that was available and we used to jump, use that and try and hit a no scope. I was terrible at it but it was fun to try 🙂 -
Are there games you consider yourself a pro in?
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
Not sure I would consider myself a pro but I used to play a lot of Call of Duty over many years and got to a level where I was pretty good, even used to play for fun with a group of friends under a clan we had and we used to win a lot too. I have taken a huge break from Call of Duty since then though and couldn't even say if I was still as good as I used to be. -
As much as I would like to see Fortnite, seeing how the pro's play in tournaments on that game, there is zero chance I would be able to compete against that. Call of Duty is a game I used to play a lot and was a game I felt I could go into competitions and tournaments with around 6 years ago now but I have since taken a long break from Call of Duty and know I would be rusty. If I were to get back into Call of Duty with Black Ops 6 and got back to how I used to play, that could be a possibility if I ever wanted to compete.

Agreed, I feel as though most tend to double down on their games by charging that amount and then adding more into the game in terms of microtransactions, issue is people will buy the game and use the microtransactions so the developers continue to do it.

It's been a long time since I played any games with friends in person or through LAN, most of the time I tend to play with friends online or just my family in the same room nowadays. I do miss the LAN days, they were so much fun!

I have to agree and say that the biggest problem with online games is not only the cheaters who ruin the games for everyone but also those who are toxic and like to ruin things for others as well with the things they say with no thought.

The last game I played was Monopoly Go just a little bit ago starting on the new events that came out today. I did want to check out the Valorant Beta on Xbox but it turns out it is not available on my console so going to have to give that one a miss for now.
-
I have not paid $70 for a game yet and don't believe I ever will. I will always wait for a sale or for the game to drop in price before I make the jump and buy the game, especially if I can't justify the $70 price tag.

I always remember when I got my first mobile phone, I was 12 years old and I had started in secondary school which was a good 2 miles away from where I lived. My mum felt it best to get me a mobile phone so I was able to make contact with my parents or family should I need to. All my kids were allowed a mobile phone from around the same age I was due to them going into secondary school and that being a distance from home.
-
This is the first time I am hearing about this mobile game. As someone who has played the Monster Hunter games in the past, I am quite interested in how this game works on mobile. Another game I can check out a little later today when I have some time 🙂
-
At the moment I wouldn't say that I have a favourite mobile accessory. I have a phone and I have a case that I like that has a pattern rather than it being plain but that is about it. I have been thinking about getting a power bank as there have been times where I have had to leave the house for things such as appointments or even to go to A&E if my children have needed to and the anxiety I get when my phone is dying is never a nice feeling on top of everything else.
-
This is a good question, I have a lot of old phones that I have kept in storage over the years when we have upgraded our phones over the years and I always wonder what else I could use them for other than as a backup to send and receive calls and texts. This is actually a good idea and one I am going to look into, can never have too many ways to make a little extra.
-
The app that I would say I find most useful on my phone would be my banking app, it allows me to keep up with my in goings and out goings which in turns help me feel less stressed and anxious about money and finances.
-
I have tried many different virtual pet games on my phone but none of them have ever been able to keep me interested enough to want to continue playing them. There was one that I started to play a few weeks ago called My Tamagotchi Forever, many had said it was similar to Tamagotchi's that we used to have when we were younger but I found it to be so much more different to what I remember.
-
This game looks fun and interesting but it's not a game I have picked up as of yet. It's definitely a different game and one that looks as thought it would be a lot of fun to play through. Going to keep an eye out to see if their is any deals for this game the next time I jump on my Nintendo Switch

I remember we had Wii Music, it was a game my mum bought for herself when she had the Nintendo Wii and she gave us the console when she stopped using it for my kids to use with Wii Music. We played the game a few times but it wasn't one of the greatest games and we found that we easily got bored of it.
