The Deep South vs The Mid-South
The Blackangel replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Ok. So? Where are you going with this? -
It's things like that the breed xenophobia. Understanding culture is an important part of being a decent human. You don't have to agree with it, but you should understand it. you don't have to live the same way the people of India live. They don't have to live the same way the people of Holland live. The people of Holland don't have to live the way Americans live. But we need to understand their culture. For example, I fly 3 different flags in my home. They are all from my heritage. Is that not ok due to the fact that I haven't been to these countries? I proudly fly them and have no intention on ever taking them down unless I have to move them. The flags are Scotland, Germany, and Ireland. I've never been to that side of the pond. But I still fly those flags. I understand a bit of the culture of each country. I'm by no means an expert, but I still know a few things. I even speak a bit of German. Heritage aside, understanding different cultures is always a good thing. And classes, whether at a university or a coffee shop, should always be encouraged. Honest unbiased education and knowledge are never a bad thing.

The same could be said for any dog, regardless of the breed. One of my chihuahuas bullies my pitbull. He is controlling and possessive as hell of her. He would be the mean one in that relationship.

This thread is another of the ones you made about abortion isn't it?

Are right-wingers cool people?
The Blackangel replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
You obviously endorse this. -

The Blackangel replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
You try to say you endorse leaving people alone, but you only agree with leaving them alone if they follow your close minded ideology. You are happy to try to control others an tell them what they can and can not do with their own bodies, but you say people should leave people alone. Which is it Mr Bigot? -
La Nina weather is killing Texas
The Blackangel replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in General Chat
If I remember right, it was somewhere around 2010. My memory being what it is, I honestly don't remember what year is was. I'll have to ask @Rain Dew when she gets home from work if she can remember what year it was. -
Do you think they'll make another Final Fantasy remake?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I don't think they will. At least not for a good long while. The remake of FF7 got a lot of backlash when it was released. Sure there are a lot of fans that enjoy it, but there are just as many (if not more) that were let down by it. Taking that into consideration, I don't see them remaking a FF game any time soon. Besides which one would they do? FF8 is listed as the most unpopular games in the FF timeline. It's my personal favorite, and to be honest I was surprised that it even got a remaster due to how unpopular it was/is. -
It's not surprising. The right wing is dragging us back to pre civil war times where the only ones with any rights or privileges would be white men. Women would lose any and all rights that we have and be limited to the kitchen, the laundry, and the bedroom. Blacks would have to wear body armor just to go to the store for fear of some racist asshole shooting at them for fun. And don't even get started on the transgender community. Adolf started a transgender holocaust during his run. It would become a "kill on sight" situation if the GOP had its way.

La Nina weather is killing Texas
The Blackangel replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in General Chat
I went to a music festival several years ago, and the temperature was well over 100 (around 120 at night and 130+ during the day), and the humidity was over 100%. That's a deadly situation there. I actually missed the second half of the entire festival because I ended up in the hospital due to the heat. We went back, packed up our shit, and left to a hotel. And luckily enough, the car broke down which meant we had to spend an extra week in that hotel before we could go home. But as long as I was in the AC, and with their indoor pool I was safe. I didn't dare go outside until the car was fixed and we were on our way home. The odd thing is that it was in a location you never would have expected such dangerous temperatures. Southern Illinois. -
Either the people behind that have never heard of rape, or they're incredibly stupid. I believe it's the latter.

If they were to break that contract they would have 2 options to do so, neither being particularly attractive. 1) They would have to buy out the contract from Sony, which would cost them more than it's worth. 2) They would be at the wrong end of an extremely expensive lawsuit for breach of contract. The fact that the contract was in place before they bought the company is irrelevant. When they bought Activision/Blizzard they bought not only the company, but everything that comes with it. The games, the sexual harassment issues, and the previous contract with game developers. Among many other things. So their smartest move is to let the contract lapse, and decide from there whether it's a good move for them to reinstate a new deal, or keep the games to themselves. For those who prefer Xbox, and Xbox loyalists, this is no big deal. But for gamers who in general prefer a different platform, multi-platform gamers, or loyalists to a different platform, this could be an issue. And being that they spent damn near $70 billion just to acquire Activision/Blizzard, they can't afford either of those 2 options without facing possible bankruptcy. It's often sad to see a major corporation facing chapter 11. Or even worse, chapter 7.

For the love of all things holy and all things unholy, tell me that's a photoshop image, or at least fake in some way. Please be bullshitting us.

If the point is made and enough care is taken for it to be obvious what the poster ants to say, I just ignore any bad grammar that may have been in their post. If there is constant grammar issues and their point has been lost somewhere in it, I do ask them to clarify what they mean. But I ask that as a fellow poster and not as a mod. My posts get lost often as I have a bad habit of rambling and getting off topic. So I'm no exception to the whoopsie category. Sometimes better at grammar, often worse at grammar.

VGR Member of the Month - March 2022 Nominations
The Blackangel replied to DC's topic in General Chat
To show my appreciation for him helping me out a lot when I didn't know what to do, I nominate @Shagger for MOTM. His assistance and guidance has been an invaluable help to me as a new mod. -
Thanks for all the support guys. We really appreciate it. But don't get too excited just yet. It's going slow because we're wanting to take our time to make sure we get good, entertaining videos up. We're both perfectionists, and if we feel that a video is lacking in any way, it won't get posted. So if you're looking forward to any specific game, you may have to wait a while. The first game I'm doing should be obvious to everyone here. I'm doing RDR2. The only issue is that I play on PS4 and the longest time of a clip that can be recorded is 1 hour. So it's going to be chopped up into hour long clips. I have a few programs on my computer to record as long as I want, but the PS4 is on a completely different input since I use a TV as a monitor, so those programs are moot for any PS4 or Xbox games.
-
There are some games that for special features you can only get them through physical copies. For example with RDR2, if you want the special or ultimate edition with the code that gives you all the free stuff and extra sidequests, you can only get that with a physical copy of the game. With the exception of PC.

That's what I've been saying all along in reference to the whole PS5 and Xbox Series X/S debate. They can all do digital. That's no question. But I constantly recommend getting the disc capable version, because that way you're not excluding yourself from anything. There could (and most likely will) be games that are only released in physical form, and it may be something that a gamer desperately wants. But since they decided to buy the digital system and forego the disc capability, they're screwed without having to buy a second system. So for a PS5, I'm happy to wait until one is available and it's not from a scalper or the extortionate online prices. Also at the moment, I'm happy with my PS4 games. I know the PS5 has reverse capability with PS4, but I'm happy with what I have.
-
To each their own, but I prefer hard copies. Maybe it's related to being a classic gamer and my nostalgia kicking in. Or maybe it's just convenient in my eyes, because the first 3 PlayStation's could all play PS1 games. Without the disc there, you were screwed. Either way, it's my preference. But I will say, that having your games digital and not having to get up to change the disc if you want to play something different is definitely convenient as hell.
