  1. The snow here is deep and heavy. It's also a wet snow, which makes driving anywhere without snow tires is practically a death sentence. Our power grid is still up. But states like Texas have lost their power. Their grid is down for a hell of a lot of the state. I'm in Missouri, and it's almost to a point the the police will arrest anyone for being out due to the cold. That happened a few years ago, and I can tell you, they weren't exaggerating when they said they would do it. They'll cuff you, throw you in their cruiser that's set up for the weather, and either take you downtown, or run your ass home.

This is honestly one of the worst winters we've had in a long time.

I've been to Hell, also in Grand Cayman. If even the devil is asking for a heater (Michigan) or some AC (Grand Cayman) then you know the winter is out of control.

Mother Nature is pissed, and now we're suffering the consequences for it.

I guess a combination of the character's intelligence, and just the fact that I was (and still am) a major Harry Potter fan!

I can't support anything related to Rowling. Especially when she said that child porn is better than being transgender.

    One musician I can't stand is Nicki Minaj - but I suppose she's not a 'band' 😛

That counts as far as I'm concerned.

What's one food that just turns your stomach?

  4. It looks really familiar. There was another movie that we watched that was extremely like this, but it turned out to be centered around some religious cult that wanted a sacrifice. The set really reminds me of that.

Despite all that, it does look good to me. I know I'm almost 2 months late but this is the first time I can honestly say that I've seen/noticed this thread.

  5. Yeah but there's always a lemon in everything. Like I said it was all I could afford. TracFone royally sucks, but it's the only thing I could find that was within my budget. Also, this phone was all but impossible to carry.

But that said, it was a hell of a lot easier for me to find in my purse than my iPhone.

  6. Macaws aren't built to ride around in cars. They need space to be free in. As for being a handful, they're on the same level of a 3 year old child. They typically only get destructive if they're not getting enough stimulation. They need attention, and they need things to do. They also need to have toys to play with. You need to keep them on a schedule as to things like bedtime. When to get up, when to go to sleep. They have the same emotions as people. Happy, sad, afraid, angry, content, etc. So yes, they are definitely a handful. If you have a bird, they will eventually bite you from time to time. My conure bites everyone who isn't me. Yet she still bites me from time to time. With a macaw, they will bite from time to time, but sometimes it's a bit different for them. They're like a baby and experience the world through their mouths. Unless the bird is angry or scared (or just a mean bird), they usually don't bite hard enough to do real damage. But if they do bite with intent, they can remove body parts. Their bite is strong enough to pulverize bone, and their beaks are sharp enough to shred skin. So you could easily lose a finger under the circumstances at that moment.

I don't know if I have mentioned it (probably have) but we used to have a blue throat. He hated men but was ok with women. Except me. He loved @Rain Dew and was unwilling to give her a moments peace. Blue throats are an endangered species with an estimated 300-500 left. We loved him, but when Covid hit we couldn't afford him anymore. So we had to let him go. It broke both our hearts.

  7. Get a good console and have someone who is able to hack it load as many games as they can on the hard drive. Some people can make games have a little less file size and get thousands on one machine. If you find the right hacker you could end up with the entire NES, SNES, and N64 library's on there. If you take an Xbox One, you could get the entire Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One library's on it. The same with PlayStation from PS1 to PS5. You may be able to get games from all of the big 3. It just takes some good hacking skills. Which I unfortunately do not possess.😢

That's exactly the kinda stuff I'm talking about. Cool and fun collectibles you can get based on your favorite games. I'm going to have to check that place out to see if they have any RDR2 themed stuff, or maybe some Metal Gear Themed stuff too.

I want to set up a collection of figures and collectibles whenever I get to making my own gaming/entertainment room. I'd love light up stuff like this.

Go to the Rockstar Store and check it out. They have a hell of a lot of collectables. I bought a bundle deal a couple years ago, and got a lot of awesome stuff. I've been wanting to hit them up again (the bundle deal is gone) and pick up some more stuff. They're doing a site wide 40% off right now (9:34AM 12-22-2022). So if you're wanting to buy, now is definitely the time.

you'd still need the PCB for the control panel, it'd be easier to just buy the Arcade1UP 😛  They often go on sale for ~$300 too, so they aren't all that expensive if you wait for the right time to strike. 😛

You can also build your own cabinet. It's not hard at all. I've built several, despite my limits. You just need the wood for the frame, paint, a TV, and a console. It works best with digital consoles if you don't want that open disc drive on the side of your cabinet. Download a lot of games to the console, hook it up to the TV, run cable wires to the inside of the cabinet, splice the wires between a joystick and buttons, then also give yourself a game controller if you want that option. It's child's play really.

  10. True, but this is Microsoft we're talking about. They're one of the biggest liars in the tech world, not just the gaming industry. They take back promises, and lie their asses off all the time. It's part of their business practices to make their investors happy, and keep that worm dangling on the hook just above the water where we can almost reach it.

Despite using a PC, I've never been a fan of Microsoft in general (Bill Gates is an ass). Both before and after they entered the gaming market, and thus becoming one of the best selling consoles in the world.

  11. I have to concur with @Shagger on this one. I prefer unconventional racing games and kart games. F-Zero is a longtime favorite of mine. I've played a few over the years, and while fun, they just weren't my thing. I ended up with Ford vs Chevy at some point, but it just couldn't get its hooks into me.

Racing games are wildly popular, but it's such a small niche that a lot of gamers either overlook them, or just aren't into them.

  12. The same can be said for many games. The thing that was a draw for Pac-Man was that it was originally an arcade game like you would see in bowling alleys, drug stores, and restaurants in those times. People would get playing it and want that high score. So there was a hell of a demand for a turn playing. That fueled"Pac-Man fever" as it has been called. Then when it was released on home console, people were so into the game, that it sold like wildfire, and had a shitload of spinoffs, such as Ms Pac-Man, and Pac-Man Junior. Then there were a lot of spinoffs like Ladybug on the Colecovision. Everyone wanted their slice of the Pac-Man pie, and most got it. It also can't be forgotten that a lot of people bought their Atari for that one and only game.

  13. Considering that this is Microsoft we're talking about, I see the protests doing absolutely nothing but wasting a lot of people's time. It's no hidden fact that Microsoft has been trying to get as close to a monopoly as they can without actually creating one. Buying Activision is just another step up that ladder. And if they do lease games to other companies like Sony and Nintendo, they're going to demand vastly more than the damn game is even worth. Yet people will pay it because they want that game on their preferred platform.

Oh my that is a lot to get through. I thought I was bad with all what I have on my Switch that I haven't played yet. I have Nintendo Online at the moment which gets used a lot by my kids who play Just Dance online and also play things like Nintendo Switch Sports online so it does get used quite a lot. It's not a bad price at all for a year either and well worth it for how much they use. I always say though, are you even a gamer if you don't have a huge backlog? LOL

My Switch log isn’t even all the games on it. I have several carts as well. Also you have to consider the other systems I actually play, not just own.

    NES
    SNES
    N64
    Atari 2600
    Sega Genesis
    PS1
    PS3
    PS4
    PS5
    Game Boy
    Xbox One

There’s easily 1,000 games in that list. As for systems we own that we don’t actually play, there’s Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, Game Cube, Wii, and DS/3DS systems.

We don’t play our Xbox’s very often, but we do play them on occasion.
