To be honest, I've been spending more time with my friends and family over the Christmas period so I didn't game quite as much.

You have to have friends and family first. Aside from @Rain Dew and one other person, I have none.

  2. I keep finding new ones just about every time I play the game. Some are special/ultimate edition exclusives, but the rest are in any version of the game. I'm going to list the ones I have found because I want to see if anyone has found others. It needs to be said that I don't play the epilogue very often because I can't handle Arthur's death. I'm also not listing things for camp requests like the pipe for Dutch, and mirror for Molly. I'm also not counting things like Dream Catcher, Rock Carving, or Dinosaur Bone locations.

    Shark Tooth Trinket (s/u exc)
    Cat Eye Trinket (s/u exc)
    Hawk Talon Trinket (s/u exc)
    Iguana Scale Trinket (s/u exc)
    Eagle Talon Talisman (s/u exc)

    Gold Shield
    Native American Ring
    Shrunken Head
    Female Fertility Statue
    Viking Helmet
    Viking Comb
    Cat Skull Mask
    Pagan Mask
    Abalone Shell Fragment
    Petrified Wood
    Ammolite
    Flourite
    Catherine's Brooch
    Emerald
    Jimmy Brooks' Pen
    Meteorite (2/3)
    Penelope's Bracelet
    Quartz Chunk
    Reutlinger Pocket Watch
    Lions Paw
    Giant Boar Tusk

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Like I said, there are things I'm not including. I don't want to try to list all the dream catchers I've found, or dinosaur bones that I've found. I'll include items that I get from partaking in such stranger missions.

  3. To name the biggest ones that I'm into is pretty easy. There are games that I wish would become a franchise (Dante's Inferno for example) but I'm not holding my breath.

    Red Dead Redemption (especially RDR2)

    Zelda

    Final Fantasy

    Mario

    Castlevania

    any snowboarding game

    Layers Of Fear

    Outlast

    Dark Pictures Anthology

    God Of War

  4. I was completely unaware of the movie "Vampire's Kiss" despite being a child of the 80's. I like Nicholas Cage in action movies, but I never would have thought he would be in a comedy.

Shows what I know. But either way, he is not the right actor for this role. They could have at least looked to Interview With The Vampire or Queen Of The Damned.

Underworld would also have been a good choice.

  5. He has gone too far. He couldn't be happy being a legend in the gaming industry, so he decided to be greedy. Insider trading is a federal crime here in the states if I remember correctly. He can lose his license to produce games, and lose his job in the industry. And when it gets around about him doing this, no other company will hire him. Unless he becomes a shadow employee. Even then, he would suffer a major pay cut. So all the money he embezzled from this would have to go to not only fines from the FTC, but to get him out of debt and living a very modest life.

He screwed himself. It's that damn simple. Some criminals are pure idiots. Others a re pure genius (zodiac) and never get caught. It's sad.

  6. I have to concur with @Reality vs Adventure on this one. I have no confidence in Russia's motives. There's something else going on here. Also, I just wonder what country would even want any games they produced. There's at least a 98% chance that the games would be full of propaganda and brainwashing techniques. And with as greedy as Putin is, I doubt many people would even be able to afford them. And what platform are they wanting to release these games on? Almost every civilized nation has spoken out against the war Putin started against Ukraine. That includes spokespeople for the gaming companies. Russia's imports have slowed to an extreme, and a few countries have stopped trading with or selling to Russia all together. So if they decided to actually go through with this asinine idea, they would most likely be forced to come up with their own version of a console as well. Unless the games are all PC games, but even then, they control what parts of the internet are allowed, so not everyone has a computer. Russia may be a first world country, but that doesn't mean that a lot of its people aren't poor.

It's a complete waste of time, and utterly pointless in my opinion.

  7. I've said it before, and I'm forced to say it yet again:

    Crack is not your friend.

But you know who would have been better for this role than Nicholas Cage?

ANYONE. Get my favorite actor, Johnny Depp. He could totally pull this role off. Or get someone who plays horror almost exclusively. Tobin Bell would probably be best. No one has more dark class than Jigsaw himself. With the exception of Pinhead.

Hmmmm..... Pinhead. Doug Bradley doesn't play him anymore, but he brought unrivaled class and elegance to the role. What about Bill Nighy? He played Victor in Underworld. Basically anyone who can pull off pure evil with beauty and elegance. Former vampire actors would be the starting place, and to my knowledge, Nick Cage has never played a vampire even once. Or even been in a vampire movie.

I found a video that says its ps5 showing all render modes for TLOU2. If Part 2 has the modes, then most likely the Part 1 remaster does too.For sure the Part 1 remake does. This is the only video I can find. At 1.48 minutes it shows 8-bit

I gotta say, I love that void filter. It's as if it's in a dream or something. I wish I could play that one, but I know I couldn't. 1960 is pretty too. The fire ones are great as well. But that void filter really has me. It's as if everything is fake, yet real at the same time.

  9. Being that with the exception of several PS4 games, I'm strictly a classic gamer, my eyes do fine. Whether I'm playing SMB or RDR2, it doesn't matter. Considering that you're not used to it, you would probably have to train your eyes. Go back gradually and let your eyes get used to lower graphical abilities. It would take a long time, depending on your eyesight. Possibly a couple years or more. I would say to go for it.

As for the actual graphics, it's NES style not PS1. NES was 8 bit, PS1 was 32 bit. The pixelation of the graphics is a dead giveaway.

  10. You can try the Caribbean. I've been down there 3 times, and have visited every island except Cuba. I might recommend not going to Grand Cayman if it's summer. The heat down there is crippling. You can take a cruise like we did, do some shore excursions, and just try to have a good time. Just stay away from Princess cruises. That was the last one I went on, and one of the stewards sexually assaulted me. So be careful if you take a cruise. I'll never take another one for that one reason.

  11. Initially, being a game tester sounds like a dream come true. But in game development, they have one of the worst jobs, because they're on more of a time crunch than anyone else. If I remember right, Nintendo tried to do motion capture for Mario 64, and had the testers running up and jumping into a wall to get Mario jumping right. As a result of that, several of them ended up with concussions and even a few broken bones.

If that's how they want their games tested, then count me out. I could do motion capture as long as the character in question was in a wheelchair. But I'm more into voice acting than being videoed for anything.

  12. For me it was Link's Awakening on my Switch. I've been kinda binging on it. I played a bit of RDR2 yesterday, but had to get out to get an alignment on my car, then went grocery shopping. I got home late, and was so exhausted that I just said to hell with it and went to bed.

The first game I picked up this year is The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me. I've been looking forward to getting it ever since I saw the post the post  @Kane99 made about it. I haven't popped it in as of yet, but I plan on running it soon.

Wait, the TLOU2 has an 8-bit graphic mode? I knew they had accessibility options built in, but I had no idea they offered an 8-bit mode, that's actually pretty cool. Is there any videos of it in action? I saw some of the accessibility options for blind and those who have bad eyesight. Does it make it look like a PS1 game? If so I kinda want to try that out.

Yes it does have that 8 bit mode. As for how it looks, it's more line NES graphics. PS1 was 32 bit. @Reality vs Adventure posted a video Here that shows what the game would look like.

I find it better to use an ambidextrous mouse like the Steelseries Aerox and switch hands every few hours. Learning to be ambidextrous with a mouse isn't as hard as people think.

I actually am ambidextrous and have no problem using either mouse. As long a the one for the left hand is built in reverse. Trying to get things right with a right handed mouse with my left hand is a bitch. I'm sure that's true either way.

Fun fact: They actually did try to buy Nintendo many years ago.

I read an article about that. They were laughed out. I'm just super happy that they failed in their attempt. If Nintendo had sold out, I wouldn't be able to play Nintendo games anymore. That's just because they would have decided that money was more important than games. Sure, they hav their shady practices, but there's no company that doesn't regardless of what market they're in.

  16. This is something completionists will definitely relate to. Now I'm not a completioniest per se, but there is one thing that absolutely drives me insane. Short trip, I know. Ha ha ha. I play Link's Awakening on my Switch a lot. I would play it on m Game Boy, but can't find it. The Game Boy copy is irrelevant to this conversation though.

For those that haven't played it, there are 50 secret seashells for you to collect, as oppose to 26 on the Game Boy copy. I have no real issue collecting them, except one. I can never find that last damn shell. I get 49 of them easy. But for some reason that 50th shell always eludes me. I've gotten all 50 before, but if I remember correctly that was a one off thing. I go to Zelda Dungeon to try to find it, but every one that I look at I'm sure I got. I go to each spot hoping to find one that I missed and no luck. I honestly don't know what the hell I'm doing. It's ripping my hair out frustrating.

    What's your 50th seashell issue?

  17. I became aware of Farmville a couple years ago, but by that time I can only assume that it's no longer on Facebook because I could find nothing about it. Personally as someone who grew up on a small stock farm, it wouldn't really appeal to me. I already know how hard work that is, and I don't have the interest in playing a game that is the same thing I did every day as a kid.

In the early days of Facebook, I was probably still on MySpace. I left it behind long ago, so I honestly don't know.

  18. I don't think there could be any consensus about this unless every gamer everywhere was questioned. I know that I'm lonely, because I have been all my life. I'm also an introvert and socially awkward. At this point in my life, I prefer to be by myself. But as @Shagger said, there's a difference between solitary and lonely. And it's a big one at that. So all in all, it comes down to the individual, and their personal circumstances.

As far as lonely goes, nothing sucks so much as being alone even when your surrounded by people.
