  1. Links Awakening on Switch last night. I had to put it up though, because my bird was crying for me.

For those of you from the UK, that's an actual bird with feathers. A Conure to be exact. It's not a woman.

  2. The Sharks? Seriously? You need to join the right team. The Detroit Red Wings are the best team in the NHL. We're having a horrible season this year, but that's irrelevant. The Wings are the best team ever. That's just a bone hard, stone cold fact.

  3. I might be going to St. Louis this weekend. Spend the day going to the science center, and if I have time the art museum. The science center is having a big Leonardo da Vinci exhibit with a lot of recreations of his designs. Things like the Aerial Screw. I'm a humongous "fan" (only word I can think of) of da Vinci.

  4. I have some sort of weapon in my hands at all times. Yes this includes when I’m sleeping, and I take something into the shower with me as well. I’m paranoid schizophrenic, and being a sociopath on top of that I don’t trust my own shadow. I’m constantly looking around at my surroundings, even when I’m sitting at home watching TV. If you were to see me unarmed, that would mean that you are at my funeral. I can throw a knife. I can throw a shuriken. I’m a dead eye with a rifle and a bow. And I’m no slouch with a pistol. I have no qualms about taking a human life. I’ve been shot before. I’m no stranger to random violence. It’s just a normal part of life. An average day. Nothing more, nothing less.

  5. I think as time goes by they're all going to do what they can to phase out all physical games and everything will digital downloads. PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, and any other competitors that enter the mix whether they make it or not. But after seeing the train wreck that is Google Stadia, I highly doubt we'll see many new challengers to the Big 3.

  6. If anyone is into ROM-Hacks, for your own sanity I recommend you stay way the hell away from the 3 Zelda R/H's on SNES. I've been playing Goddess Of Wisdom for a few years now, and have only just discovered the location of a third dungeon. This game is so far beyond hard that it's crossed the line of being fun long ago. Now it's in the realm of having to beat it just so you can say you did, and feel that small sense of self satisfaction. Or so that you can wipe your ass with it afterward. Whichever is a more attractive choice. I'm opting for choice number two. It's the type of game that you don't even like playing anymore due to the difficulty, but you're too damn hard headed to quit until you beat it. That's how I was with DKC1 and DKC2. And now I absolutely despise that franchise.

And the worst thing about it is that due to it being a ROM-Hack, there are no guides or walkthroughs. There are no cheat codes. There's just you getting butt fucked by the Master Sword while all of Hyrule howls with laughter. And if the Master Sword is in this game, I haven't seen a damn trace of it anywhere.

  7. T&C Surf Designs is another one. I think most people passed on it because it's made by LJN. Granted they put out a lot of horrible games, but this one was actually really good. With the exception of the surfing part, it wasn't too difficult, and was loads of fun.

Another is Super C. I know it couldn't touch the first one, but it was still a really sweet entry into the Contra series.

Conker's Bad Fur Day. Why does no one remember this one? Even though it was an adult game, it was a blast. It's as if it's been swept under the rug of shame in an attempt to be forgotten. I don't get that.

Hexen. Everyone wanted Doom. No one wanted a medieval version. The cost of that? They missed out on one hell of an awesome game.

Final Fantasy VIII. Up until FF13, FF8 was the worst received entry into the series. Players had difficulty with the junctioning system, they didn't like the characters, the storyline was like nothing they had seen. Gamers just didn't like it. Now it has a cult following of die hard fans, myself included.

Dantes Inferno. Why does no one talk about this one? It's one of the most mesmerizing games that ever came out on the PS3. Yet people seem to have either not noticed it, or they were just like "meh".

There are also several of the old, old, old classics but I'm not going to get into them or I would be posting all day.

  8. Even with their screwups, and the crash in 1983, Atari is were pioneers and pretty much the ones to be thanked for keeping video gaming alive. Sure they're more or less gone now. But if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be talking right now, because this forum wouldn't exist.

  9. There are thousands of games on the 2600, for exactly the reasons @Shagger mentioned. Anyone could make a game in their basement and sell copies on the street corner. You just needed the materials and a little bit of programming knowledge. I just did a count, and I have 72 different game titled cartridges, and duplicates of several of them. Some of them are multigame cartridges. I'm not even close to scratching the surface. I'm at the back of the line to do so. if you can think of it, chances are, you can find it or something damn close to it on Atari 2600.

  10. One game that I thought of that I play that has a few moments where you need a bit of stealth is Zelda OoT. The two that stick out to me the most are the Forest Temple and the Gerudo's Fortress. The only part in the Forest Temple is when you have to shoot the paintings to draw out those Poe sisters. You have to hide from an angle she can't see you and pick off the painting she's in. In the Gerudo's Fortress, you have to be very careful where you go there, or you could walk right up in front of one. You have to hide from their view then pick them off when their back is turned and they've moved far away enough that you have time to nail them.

  11. The games I play where you level, it's automatic (FF8, Castlevania SOTN, etc.). You don't have a choice really. The closest I can think of would be Zelda 2. I save my points so I can level up several things at once. I stick with the mini battles (which takes a million years but still) because there's a decent amount of points to gain somewhat quickly, and there's no shortage of them.

  12. It all depends on the game. Most of the games I play are either an above aerial view, or a side scroller which doesn't offer much in the way of stealth options. However in the few games I can think of that I play that have the player option, I tend to go with a bit of stealth. I try to be as stealthy as I can in GoW and in Dante's Inferno. I recently started playing Darksiders for the first time, and I'm still learning the mechanics of that, but I go with stealth when I can. Unless there are humans around. Then I go nuts and slaughter them.
