Ryzen is really starting to make a dent in the mobile industry and I have a hunch they'll leave a bigger impression this time around. True but until I see a Ryzen version, I'm not really interested...

Sell a kidney! How much is one worth in the pandemic? XD This must be one of the few times I'm really excited to buy an Asus gaming laptop or have an urge to... Asus also fixed their cooling issues this time around so these gaming laptops should perform far better.

That's the way it's been with Nvidia in the last 2-3 years unfortunately... Not much of a surprise really - I knew this was going to happen again. We need AMD to start pushing out their mobile GPUs as well - some more powerful at that to really push Nvidia. Consumer deception has been a practice of companies for decades and nobody will address the issue so it's best to do your research before buying any product.
-
Fun fact! Nvidia has indefinitely pushed back the release of the 3080 TI due to shortages in supply with their other GPUs. We'll probably have to wait until June before we even can get our hands on a 3080 or a 3070.

That's why I stopped buying them long ago. I think in the last two decades, EA started to sneakily push the boundaries but us as customers were too blind to notice it until recently. I do agree that the modern era also brought their greed to light as well.

What makes for good or bad AI in video games?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
AIs like the ones in the newer Hitman games are very bad examples. I mean the guy throws something into the food in front of thousands of people and not one of them is remotely suspicious. In older Hitman games, if you were even too close to an enemy while disguised they'd start to get suspicious of you. -
How much have you spent setting up your PC?
killamch89 replied to Alexander.'s topic in Gaming Forum
My previous desktop PC build was give and take $2000 at the time. This time around, it'll be even more expensive because I'm going to invest in a 3090 for 3-d modelling/animation so I'm looking at $3500 in total although I did buy most of the other components already. The only thing I'm missing is 5950x and a rtx 3090. -
Unpopular opinion: Games can be for more than entertainment
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Fortnite is particularly guilty of the practice and recent Battlefield games. I learned some life lessons from playing the Metal Gear Solid franchise as well. While games are mainly for entertainment, you can garner other things from gaming. For instance, gaming gives me a way to think about an issue (weird I know but it does and I usually find a solution to my issue while gaming). -
lol. I can't set games to easy because I get bored easily. I much prefer my games to be frustratingly difficult. Same here. I don't really get worked up over games to be honest.

Not using items ever to conserve resources
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I admit to being a hoarder of resources and I'm not sure when I developed this habit in video games. If I'm going to use a weapon, I'll actually ration out how much ammo per weapon I'm allowing myself to use because I'm always thinking about a situation where I might be attacked and I have no ammo to defend myself or healing packs to regenerate health. -
You mean the Grenade Launcher in Quake 3 or Quake Arena because that was a pretty fun one to use. When I was in a fight with people I used to shoot at the roof at a 45 degree angle and let it drop right behind them and detonate. The Wabbajack from Skyrim is also a weapon I loved using just because of the random effects which ranged from turning someone into a chicken to completely incinerating them. Complete insanity just like the Daedric Prince that created it.

Do you play games to escape yourself or find yourself?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Neither honestly, I mainly play it for entertainment and sometimes, it helps me to think or come up with solutions to a problem I was having in real life. I know it sounds weird but anytime I can't figure out something and I start gaming, a solution usually comes to me within 2-3 hours. -
Some people, especially the ones that didn't grow up playing videogames, look on video games as childish because their parents/guardians from the older generations had this mindset towards video games and they have that same view on videogames as well.

Medal Of Honor Warfighter - Mother's death was crazy to say the least. -
His final speech was also quite moving as well...

Big Boss's death in MGS 4 truly was impactful because we always heard about him in many MGS games and even found bits of info here and there but to final meet the guy who Solid was cloned from was surreal.

Snacks, Junk Foods and Fast Foods perfect for gamers
killamch89 replied to mehboy's topic in Gaming Forum
All the time and especially since quarantine, I've been trying a lot more recipes because most fast food restaurants are either shut or their options are limited due to demand. -
Ever think Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony will work together?
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Greed and competition will prevent them from ever truly collaborating on anything. The only way it could happen is if they all stand to benefit from it - not the consumers. We're just a meal ticket to them quite frankly. That's a completely different scenario and the way how things work in the PC community is a tad different. The console gaming industry has always been pretty cutthroat so working together is the last things on their mind. The only circumstance where they might all collaborate if there's an issue which deeply affects all 3. Otherwise, they won't budge. We weren't necessarily talking about making a console. We were going along the lines of cross-platform compatibility and only a few games allow that the most known one is Rocket League. They couldn't even agree on this very same issues a few years back so I doubt it'll happen. At least, not any time soon. -
I think that most of the things you listed basically answers your question but what I would add is them actually putting some effort into their games. Not the same old re-skin every year and call it a new game.

Rollable phones: better alternative to Foldable phones?
killamch89 replied to killamch89's topic in Mobile
I'm not a fanboy of any mobile company but the note 20 Ultra will probably be my last Samsung device. They keep stripping away features and charging around the same price every year since the Note 9. -
You not getting any charger in the box with those either - just a heads up. I agree that I'll probably get myself the Note 20 Ultra but there's no way I'm going to by the S21 Ultra or anything in the lineup for that matter because they're junk. I thought they would stop at 3 cameras but nope, they'll continue till the whole back is full of cameras.
