Does your personality change when you’re gaming?

Recommended Posts

Depends on what the game you play. It does and can change me if I tend to stick with the same game everyday.. in and outs. When I Was young it did affected me allot, I have to admit but as I got older things have changed. Yet again I'm playing far less that I'm more busy with other things.

A few years ago games used to affect my personality more than they should. Playing moba games like Dota or HotS made me rage and smash my hand on the desk, MMOS made me lithargic, almost non social and finishing single player games made me arrogant towards other people that did't know as much as me.

Growing up, I realized that letting games control your personality is just as bad as being affected by toxic people. Now I play but try to have frequent breaks to detach myself from the game world. Fortunately, my friends didn't hold a grunge about my personality back then, so no harm done 😄

To me, I guess kinda in a different way. A few years back when I was an adolescent, that was the time I was hook into games and it changed me somehow. I don't know if I can call depressed a personality but I'll consider it as one. Yeah, I'm depressed (until now) although when I play video games, it lessen my anxiety. Like I didn't think my problems that time and just enjoying myself.

Gaming is already part of my life and it will always make me happy (even though I play some rage games). I am thankful for the ones who thought of making a game and they made us happy. And....GAME IS LIFE!!!

I occasionally let my slight obsessive nature take over, particularly for certain fetch quests in RPGs. Most would probably hate collecting all the knick-knacks a game throws at players, but I sometimes find a sort of peaceful, relaxing joy to it.
