Best Choice/Consequence Games?

Recommended Posts

I really like games which force you to make complex choices and explore their ramifications, especially if those choices are morally gray.

What are some of the best games to play in this regard?

Games that jump to mind that explore the grey ethical boundaries that you're speaking of are Telltales’s The Walking Dead series, Detroit Become Human, Life Is Strange and Heavy Rain. I’m sure there are plenty more but those are some off the top of my head.

There are plenty of video games but one computer game that I can remember on the top of my head would be Grand Theft Auto Five, also known as GTA 5. You have so many choices to make in the game which can all potentially lead to consequences or an positive outcome. An example would be

A five star police chase. You've chosen to run away from the police, you can suffer from the ramifications which is death or serious injury or

A alternative outcome that would have a positive result from escaping your wanted level

The choice is yours.

I think if you are into choice based games then you should play "Call of Cthulu", it's kind of psychologically damaged game. So if you have faint heart then maybe not something you should be trying. But that game has options where you are being asked the questions and you navigate the game ahead slowly. It can get pretty difficult slowly. I have learned that such games can be fun to play.

I love the Mass Effect series and how your choices affect the outcomes in the games. The original Deus Ex is also a great game and one of the earliest where your choices directly affected the storyline.
