Favorite NES games?

What are (or were, if you don’t have your NES anymore) your favorite games on NES?

Mine was Solstice. I never beat it, but I loved everything about it. At the time, being able to move in three dimensions totally blew my mind. I also loved the colors, music and atmosphere, which was quite unique.

I never owned a NES growing up, sadly. The games that I played extensively with friends and loved a ton were:

SUPER MARIO BROS 1-3

DUCK HUNT

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

DUCK HUNT! A most excellent choice!

Off the top of my head, Super Mario Bros. 1-3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1-3, Castlevania 1-3, DuckTales, Ninja Gaiden 1-3, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Kirby's Adventure, Snake Rattle 'n Roll, Mega Man 2. I know i am forgetting a whole bunch of games. Duck Hunt is fun too, but i no longer have a CRT TV, so playing that on an original NES is a bit difficult nowadays, but it is available on the Wii U's virtual console and playable with a Wii remote.

I'm going to exclude franchises like Zelda, Castlevania, Mega Man, SMB, etc for this one.

My favorite will always be Blaster Master. It's just a flat out awesome game. As I've said before it's the perfect mix of fantasy and sci-fi.

Here's some shots of just a few of the bosses you'll face:

These were the first 3 games I owned for the original NES.
