Reto gaming esports?

Does anyone play any retro games in the esports scene? I can see a lot of classic fighting games, sports games, and more that can be done as esports. Do you think anyone is doing retro game esports leagues? I'd love to play some Smackdown here comes the pain in a esports setting, as I think I could get pretty far. 😄

Sure, you could play the original Tekken, or one of the sequels. Really any game that has some form of multiplayer, probably could be reverted into a possible esport game. You could say any fighter game from that time as well. Racing games too.

I never tried my hands on retro gaming nor streaming it's players. It's been long I use old consoles and video games to satisfy my curiosity.

I know it s possible to play retro kind of games in the E-sports tournaments. Some E-sports tournament hosts simply organize retro game tournaments to bring back the old memories of the long existed interesting games into play.

I've seen a retro gaming forum recently, I've also seen retro game YouTube channel also, so it isn't new seeing someone getting into retro, it simply comes down to passion.

I think that some retro games would be good for esports. Games like Street Fighter II and Super Smash Bros would be great in esports.

I think there are already SSB leagues. But what you call “retro” is what I call “daily”. I play NES and SNES all the time. I also play Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, N64, PS1, Game Boy, and a few scragglers from other platforms. The only current games of today are things like The Dark Pictures Anthology, RDR2, Layers Of Fear, Outlast, and random indie titles.
