Looks cute, and I like that it kind of reminds me of The Escapists. Well, I see it is published by Team 17, who also did that game. I'll for sure be checking this one out, as The Escapists was a fun game.

True, but we never thought we would get to this point in terms of graphics before. Devices are becoming more advanced every year, which means games will too. Of course, I don't know if we'll ever get to a point where a game looks as real, but I believe it could one day be possible. I'm speaking of the future though, because I don't see graphics getting to that point of realism for many years yet. If anything maybe 20 years from now.

I believe this is a continuation of the RE7, so likely Ethan. I remember them mentioning something about Ethan, but I don't know if he's the main character again.

Since Halloween is fast approaching, I figured we could start a topic to discuss some of the best horror games around. From the past to the present, what do you consider to be the best horror games out there? Personally for me, Silent Hill 2 is a big front runner, but I know games like Resident Evil 4, Amnesia, System Shock, Eternal Darkness, the first 2 Dead Space games, and so on. But, what should be regarded as the best of all time? What do you guys think?

I'm mainly referring to cart based games, ones from NES, SNES, Atari, etc. Anything that came in cardboard cases. I ask, because I only have the carts for my NES, SNES, atari, etc. I don't own any in the box, with the manuals sadly. Does anyone here own any games still in box?

Sad news for Amazon, their first attempt at gaming has come to an end. Their game Crucible, a free to play team based action shooter. It didn't get good reviews and also didn't go anywhere since. Seems no one was really playing it. Read more about this story here: Bloomberg

Does anyone own any pro controllers? Something like what Razer does, or what Xbox did with their elite controller. Anything where the controller can be changed to add buttons/triggers and so on. I own a PowerA pro controller that has back triggers. It was around $70 or $80 when I purchased it. It's built a lot better than other PowerA controllers, because as you know, they tend to be kind of cheap otherwise. The reason I got it, was because for some reason prices on controllers keep going up, and I wasn't going to pay $80 for another standard controller, because they tend to fall apart fast. I would like to buy the Xbox One elite controller though, but not into paying $150 plus for a controller though.

Lets face it, a 1TB HD is not going to cut it for most people. I believe both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will come with a 1TB hard drive. That of course will not last very long, especially with games getting bigger in size with each new release. Just imagine what the next COD is going to run ya, if the current one stands at over 200GBs, then just wait and see what it'll be on new gen consoles. It's gon take up a lot of storage. Anyway, they are making attempts to add more storage, which is nice, but why isn't it that they just add more storage to the consoles? Why not just go 2TBs? I mean, this will solve a lot of those problems. Yeah it'd be eaten up fast, but it's at least enough to get some games on there. And the new consoles should download and install games a lot faster, so there's that too. What do you guys think? We're going to eventually get new released that will come with bigger hard drives, so why not start big from the get-go?

idk, I wouldn't say Mafia remastered was really that overhyped. I heard a few rumblings about it, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it was overhyped. If anything, it probably could have done with more publicity and marketing, cause I don't see it selling a ton. I can agree about the Mafia II debacle lol. Squadrons on the other hand, sure. It's all over the place right now and is hugely popular right now among fans and streamers. I don't see how it failed to live up to their promises though, as it seems people are really happy with it. Unless I'm missing something? And for sure, youtubers, streamers, influencers or whatever else we call them, are for sure being paid to sell these games as much as possible. I cringe at some YouTubers who do a lets play of a new game, because it's clear which ones are promotions. It's easy to tell, because they never looked that interested in playing. You can tell when a player likes the game.

Yeah, the only thing available right now is DLC packs that have skins and I think they're called pets or companions, I forget. Anyway, there is no known modding scene for this game yet. There is news that the creator of the game will be updating it, so we may see new maps, skins, skills, etc. As well, when you're a ghost, they're working on adding options to help living crewmates and have other plans. I'm really happy this game is making a comeback like this.

Lobbies in games were awful back when the 360/ps3 came out. I was so glad that I could join a private party with my friends instead of listening to that annoying racket anymore. These days I just mute the whole lobby or don't even wear my mic. I noticed that people don't seem to talk in the lobbies all that much anymore.

I don't think people will necessarily be influenced by the graphics, I just think at some point, it may confuse some people into seeing a game and thinking it might be real. Hell, games like RDR2 are already doing that with just images of the scenery and stuff. So imagine 10-20 years from now, when games are advanced to a point where things look nearly realistic. Sure most people will know it's fake, but I'm sure there will be some who confuse it as real. Look at that time a politician thought a GTA V video of a plane was real. It's fairly easy to fool people these days.

Oh lol I didn't even think of that when I posted the topic. That's great lol. It's so cool what 3D printers can do for you. One second something is a simple design on a program, and then the next it's reality. Just imagine the possibilities of what people can achieve with a simple 3D program and a 3D printer. Wish I had one!

ROM hacked games are pretty cool. They're usually modded games with new levels, changes, and even characters. Usually someone modifies an existing game to be something different. I sadly don't own any rom hacks or modified carts. I always wanted to buy a few games made this way, as they have some fun modifications.

What are some tv shows and movies that deserve a video game counterpart? I could probably list all of the Mafia/crime movies/shows, but pretty much all of them have their own games already, albeit, most of them aren't worth your time. Anyway, what are some shows/movies you want made into a video game? I wouldn't mind seeing Shaun of the Dead get a video game. Maybe even Hot Fuzz. 😄 Discuss your picks.

A lot of games these days are getting to the point where photorealism is close to the real thing. But, most games you can still tell they're games. But, what if we ever get to a point where video games are so photorealistic, that it causes people to believe it's real. I can't wait to play games that are photorealistic. But, then again, idk. It may be too uncanny to play something that looks so real. Especially if it involves combat, guns and stuff. Imagine horror games, my goodness that'd up the fear factor for sure.

Idk what it is, but it seems if you keep your PS1/PS2 dualshock controllers for a long time, they tend to get gunky and slimy feeling. I think the rubber on the analog sticks starts to go after being left alone for such a long time. Or it just collects dust way too easily. Does anyone else have this issue with old controllers with rubber sticks? Like they feel sticky and sometimes it falls apart. Do you guys know a way of protecting controllers from this? I'm thinking of just wrapping all of my controllers in plastic bags to protect them more from dust and debris when not in use.

The thing with Forever, is that it took forever to get out there, so a lot of people moved on from it. Only devoted fans went for it, and even they were disappointed. Personally, I would like to see Duke Nukem make a comeback, but the inevitable is that his character will have to change, or adapt to the new world. That's why i think it'd be cool if some people made a game where Duke is old, and cranky. I could see a game where you play old Duke, an old out of touch guy who has mostly been forgotten. And maybe he can have a character arch where he makes redemption for his past. Fans might not like it, but I just don't see him surviving in this new world otherwise.

I'll admit though, it is fun killing someone in COD and hearing them scream before the mic cuts out. That is always fun. Whenever I would get killed, I'd try to say something dumb or make dumb noises though. Just to make them think I'm not taking it too seriously. Causes some fun discussions lol.

I will be, as I should be ready to stream by the end of the month. So, I'm going to try and find some good horror games to stream. I found one on Amazon games recently, as I got a bunch of games for being a prime member. I forget what the title was, but it looks pretty scary.

Haha that is brilliant. I am glad IGN are allowing their employees to give their honest opinions on games. This can be said for every EA sports game, Madden, NBA Live, and whatever the hell else they do sports wise. It's all the same shit year in and year out. I don't know how many times I played a new madden (mind you, years later, never buy that trash new lol), but each one was essentially the same, with just some added things here and there. The graphics, animations, gameplay are always all the same. I don't understand it. It's why I have such a huge fondness for ESPN NFL 2K5, because it has better presentation, gameplay, and even animations than the newer Madden games have. When was the last time a sports game had a literal ESPN commentator going through the first half of the game in great detail? And then a post game show going into detail about the second half? Wow, who knew it could have been done. That game alone, was why EA paid so much money for the NFL license, because Sega and Visual Concepts became a massive threat to them. It's still my favorite sports game, and I now want to play it. That's one reason I want the new Xbox, so I can stream it finally. 😄 But seriously, EA needs to adapt with the times and start to make changes to their hit sports franchises soon, because what they're making isn't new. They could go free to play, and update the game every so often with new DLC packs. I would even accept that to some extent.

I imagine it'll be emulation similar to what the Xbox One did with the 360 and Xbox originals. That's a small list though, and nothing I'd be too sad to miss. Wish they supported PS3, PS2 and PS1 as well. Or even PS3 at the least. But oh well, still will be able to play most PS4 titles, so that's a plus.

What is the first game you ever beat or finished? For me, I believe it was Super Mario Bros. 3. I had some help from my mom, but I was able to finally beat it. I felt so awesome for beating it. What was the first game you ever beat or finished?

I got the recent remastered set for THPS 1+2, but it got me thinking. If they can make this game great, why can't they make a new Tony Hawk game in the series? Just use this system and adapt it to a new game and just improve on the rest. THPS5 was considered to be one of the worst games ever, and rightfully so, it was a mess of a game. But, with this remastered set, it shows they can do something right. So, maybe, just maybe, this will result in a THPS6 that's actually good. Oh, and you gotta have it where we can get off the board. 😄 Or, they could remaster the underground games. I'd love that.
