    Probably Starfield is the only game I'm excited for

    I slightly regret not pursuing online racing after a few random races. Fun fact: I once raced a driver who become a sim racing champion, and later became a real world racing champion, and I almost beat him that time with little practice.

    I never played MMOs, but I do wonder what became of some of the people we used to do lan parties with.

    Yeah that's a good rule. I never pay for in-game items with real money either. If it's in the game it should be earned by playing the game. If it can't or takes too much time then the game is bad period. They literally expect you to pay money to make the game less shitty.

    m76 got a reaction from StaceyPowers in Do corporations actually care?
    There has been a feint going on that US and some other corporations are standing up for human rights.
    If they really cared they wouldn't just pretend on their US domestic branches, but declare support worldwide, especially where basic human rights are not granted to everyone. But that would actually hurt their business. So what do they do? They pretend to care where human rights are already won for everyone.
    If they really cared about discrimination they'd stand for women's rights in Saudi Arabia, or Gay rights in Iran, etc.
    If there is one thing I hate most in this world it is hypocrisy.

    How the heck did driver gave birth to watchdogs? I've never seen that comparison ever made.

    Half Life -> Counter Strike.
    GTA -> Saint's Row
    Dune 2 -> Command & Conquer
    Car & Driver -> The Need for Speed

    I guess this qualifies as a classic now. Unfortunately no remaster in sight for this.

    I never had a problem with consoles overheating even when it was 35C° in the room.

    Lumberyard is a fork of cryengine, amazon literally bought  a version of cryengine and added a few things related to MMOs. (like aws integration and web services) It is based on a 2015 version of cryengine.

    m76 got a reaction from Shagger in Can you sell your PSN account?
    Well, that'S really the scummy part of digital distribution, you can't ever resell games. Which kind of sucks, and that's why I'd never buy a digital only ps5.
    Selling accounts is definitely against TOS, and will probably get the account banned if discovered, not to mention the huge security issue it presents. Both as  a seller or a buyer.

    m76 reacted to killamch89 in What opinions have you changed over time with respect to gaming or the industry?
    Growing up, I used to dislike most RPG games but they eventually grew on me and it's now probably one of my favorite genres of gaming. The opposite is true of racing and most fighting games - growing up I loved them but they've become so dull and boring to me I only bother with certain games.

    m76 got a reaction from killamch89 in What non-player character would you like to play through a game as?
    I always wanted to play through ME3 as Miranda, she is on a mission of her own through the whole game and we hear next to nothing about it. It would've been a great DLC opportunity for the game to play through her exploits.

    The Alien in Alien Isolation, but not during the events of the game, but before that during the initial slaughter of the inhabitants.

    m76 got a reaction from Family sedan in What is a deal-breaker for you as far as trying or buying a game?
    Exclusive to the epic game store, or consoles.
    The first one is out of principle.
    The second one is because I might have a ps, but I hate playing games on console due to the controller. So except for a very few select games I don't buy games for playstation.
      Multiplayer only games
    Games that have no proper single player campaign can F right off.
      The inclusion of current day political debates in the game
    No real world politics should ever be a central theme in a game, unless it is historical with no ambiguity around them.
      Games by Developers / creators who have a history of degrading / looking down on the gaming community
    Examples: Patrick Soderlund, Adrian Chimleraz, Cliff Blezinsky...

    I'd say that's more amazing than scary. And it is testament to why the game has the best AI among horror games as well.

    m76 got a reaction from killamch89 in Do You Use Video Games As A Coping Mechanism
    Entertainment in general is a copeing mechanism, or as it is usually called escapism. So of course I play videogames to get my mind off existential problems and work stuff.
    Of course if you have problems that can be fixed you should work on them, not just try to drown them out.

    Alien Isolation for sure. No other game comes close in terms of terror. It has both the most scary enemy and the most creepy ones.  The alien is sheer terror, the working joes are dread.

    I think this game was thrash to begin with. Crap graphics, basic linear maps with artificial barriers, trigger based uninteractive gameplay. And some of the most atrociously bad dialogue and cutscenes known to man.

    m76 got a reaction from killamch89 in Is there anything you want to change about games in general?
    I wish there was full unrestricted customization of the player character from the beginning of games.
    In the majority of games there is no customization options at all, in others customization are unlocked by finishing the game, which feels utterly pointless to me, great I can change my character's look after I finished the game and no longer wish to play it? LOL.
    But the biggest issue is paywalled cosmetics. They say microtransactions that only affect the cosmetics does not matter, but they do. To me the look of the character is much more important than XP boosters and such nonsense p2w items.

    No, i don't like stealthing past enemies, but not for a lack of achievement. But I don't like leaving active threats behind my back. If I get discovered later it's better to know that there will be nobody running up to me from behind.

    What was the moment when you identified 100% with your character in the game and why?
    For me it was Abby in the last of us 2 on the skybridge level. I have a profound fear of falling off things, standing on the second step of a ladder is already terrifying to me unless I can hold on to something solid. So on that level I knew exactly what she would feel, so I had a very personal connection. It felt more real because I know how it feels IRL if you get what I mean.

    m76 reacted to Reality vs Adventure in Do you prefer happy or sad endings?
    I think sometimes a game throws in a dramatic event for an affect, but doesn't really fit into the game. I think what that does is desensitize us to games that are meant to be dramatic. So in order to keep drama strong, we need a balance of happy ending games too and vice versa.
