I've discovered pretty good music genre, not really songs. The genre I'm talking about is bands that sing about gaming themes and song mixes/covers. Some of my favorites are the Witcher 3 and AC Valhalla songs.

That's all I use it for. Do they just look for things to add onto consoles to increase price? I buy the system for games. Give me a choice to buy a standard system with nothing on it except the disc drive, and the rest can dig their forks deep into the cabbage of every other add on feature. Seriously, I have no use for anything but the gaming part.

It's not unconscious bias because blacks have endured far more suffering and targeted hate. I'm part Sicilian and I don't care the way Italians are portrayed because it's kind of bad assery. Italians may have a bad rep, but in no way are they mistreated and abused these days. I'm part Hispanic and because Hispanics also have endured far more suffering I get defensive. I'm thrown into the same pool of hate towards Mexicans and Central Americans but my family is from Spain. I'm also part British, but if someone were to call me a Russian I'd get pissed. But that never happens to any British. No European gets treated the way blacks do, unless there is a war obviously. And if they are, since you know more about that region, then it is your responsibility to speak up and raise awareness. If not, then stop undermining blacks.

What kind of gambling? I don't see how poker can help with throwing dice or betting on sports; unless there is a bigger picture at play where people bet on both sides skewering the underdog, then bet huge at the end knowing the underdog actually wasn't really the underdog at all. But that isn't using poker skills. It's just rich fucks corrupting the spread.

It seems like a lot of the things progressives believe are the same as what a liberal believes. Is there really any fundamental difference between the two? If you identify yourself as a progressive I would like to hear what your core values are. And those that oppose their values and specifically targeting progressives as @m76 has brought up in another topic. I would like to hear why you oppose them. A quick search brought up how progressives believe in social reform. And what is so wrong with that? I also believe there needs to be social reform in all sorts of ways.

Italians a lot of times are depicted as gangsters or thuggish because of the Sicilian history from the 20's to the 70's in America. There are a lot of people mixed with Italian, but in entertainment, a full Italian I usually see portrayed as someone involved in crime.

I'm curious: If we took a look at all the protagonists from GTA 1-5, what is the breakdown of the ethnicities of the protagonists? I get the vibe it is mostly minorities depicted as criminals. But I haven't played all the games. Even in GTA 4 the protagonist is Eastern European white male. Eastern Europeans usually are depicted as some kind of a gang member too in entertainment because of the years of the Soviet Union.

I think it’s kind of a community thing, where they think everyone else is like minded. And it’s a good feeling party thing. Which i think trends in a community setting. Like being on a beach music blaring, going to a bbq, do some mud spinning then on down through the village, blast the tejano when a rodeo is nearby or a market. It could be a holiday, event, or game day. I think usually it offends people that don’t like the type of music, otherwise it’s subconsciously ignored just to criticize it another day when it’s music a person doesn’t like. Sometimes it can be an intentional statement playing the music loud to annoy people you know isn’t gonna like it. Kind of a fuck you to them. Other times a person is under the influence. And again if the vehicle has many passengers then they usually blare the music. It could be the driver is trying to drown out the passenger. Many reasons. It could resemble insect antennas, kind of a calling to like minded people. Where are you? I’m blasting music. I’m over here dude! Can you hear it? And it continues down the street, down the city, through the suburbs, reaching rural town, on through flyover country, to different cities, countries, and then the aliens listen in too. “vwat es dees? eetza toonies. Maybe fate is pushing me to PC gaming because I haven't had any luck with consoles. I would love to mod some of my favorite games if they have some.

That idealized version is what the problem is. Because it usually reflects what they think or what they want the majority of society to think or see as idealized. There are cultures past and present that would rather see a busty character. Ancient Greeks idealized overweight women for example. Idealized versions through the decades have also cast many other demographics as villainous or simply left out, just as society itself has left many people out of equality. But you make a good point of how maybe people, I wouldn’t say progressives, try to make fiction a mirror of reality. To me that is amazing how they can do that while keeping the work of fiction. Doesn’t it make things seem so much more real or believable if let’s say, magic wasn’t just some godly blessing, but maybe have some realistic physics or chemistry behind it to make everything seem real. Look at Malazan Book of the Fallen, I’m sure you would agree the magic and gods there are used in a way that seems realistic. And an apocalyptic world is a fantasy setting where fiction is a mirror of reality, but destroyed and with zombies. And to make the virus believable is the challenge of keeping the realism there. To mirror that reality using demographics in a work of fiction, well why not? If the characters are human, why not? Aren’t humans used as characters a mirror of reality? Then it should also be free to have everything that comes with it; ethnicity, LGBTQ+, weight, height, hairy, balding, glasses, as well as the personality traits. Otherwise they can use fairies and dwarves in all the games. I’ve never seen a black dwarf. So just make all characters the perfect white dwarf and hairy females so there won’t ever be any controversies right? ‘Behold perfection’ that is a clear example of what we have already been seeing in all entertainment. No prejudice intended, but the perfect golden boy, the good looking, strong, moral, straight, white, clean, male, has been waaaay overused. That is the landmark of ‘behold perfection.’ And when I criticized that in the past in the Star Wars topic you called me a racist. So that swings both ways. The fact is, my criticism of ‘behold perfection’ has more weight to it because we all have witnessed it get overplayed through the years. That is the same thing I have been saying about the ‘golden boy’ which is an outdated ‘protected class’ ‘behold perfection’ and ‘idealized version’ of the same gender, ethnicity, roles, etc. that in reality have been repeated over and over over the years to the point that it is simply cheap now. We are criticizing the same thing, but our eyes simply are seeing through a different lens. And you are trying to hold onto something that doesn’t reflect a worldly public opinion. I get what you are saying about how some characters of a different demographic come across as aggressive and angry at the world, my shit don’t stink sort of thing. That does happen sometimes, but that also could be a misunderstanding from the creators of whatever the medium of entertainment is. It is a misunderstanding, mischaracterization, and out of touch intention, sometimes intentional and other times not so by their role given. It is the creators who are doing that and their out of touch syndrome. And they have the right intention, but sometimes hurt those groups of people by simply not understanding HOW they should be as a character or represented so to speak.

That might work. I haven't contacted playstation support yet to see if it still has warranty. Seriously though, I bought two systems because I was afraid one would fail on me. Didn't expect both to go screwball back to back. The other one was fixed though, at least for now. Maybe I get a few more months out of it. That's if all my saves transfer ok. If not I'm gonna burn it all in a pile and mail it to Sony. Are they using child labor to put these things together? Is someone in the desert building electronic parts in the middle of a sandstorm? Is some drunk person drinking wine on a curb asking for change to buy more and goes back home to fulfill his Sony contract to build these systems? I'm not a pessimist for no reason and I don't like being right when I feel I have to buy two of every electronic because one or both will fail. I don't see a point spending hundreds on something that won't last a year. That's my unfortunate experience.

My system says it can't access the system storage and the main screen won't come up. I looked it up and the hard drive is no good. I have only used this system for 8 months. And that was after another ps4 system I had to send to the shop. I still have that one, but I don't trust it. That's why I have been using this other brand new one that is no good after 8 months. I done with this shit. I hate technology. I'm retiring from gaming. Toodaloo

I love the canyon country out west USA. Las Vegas is a great central location to go anywhere. That is my hometown and last time I was there it was cool to see my old neighborhood and all. Flights are usually cheap, get a car rental and you are set. I don't worry about hotels because I stay at campgrounds. From there you can go to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, all kinds of national parks in southern Utah, Death Valley in California, and all kinds of scenic drives around Vegas, and abandoned mining towns dotted throughout. I'm ready to go back. I want to really soak it all up in the Grand Canyon and southern Utah. You can lose yourself in those places in a good way. I would get some shrooms and share it with some Native Americans and we will sit around campfires and dance to some drums. (cliche I know) But I would anyways.

1.3 patch just came out with some free DLC, but I think it's just some gear. Looks like they fixed a lot of things so I'm thinking I should download the game and get the DLC. I don't know how long it will be free for.
