That video is blocked here, but I found one, and I'm already into it. It's second only to BattleBots for me.

I couldn't see the video either. I'm not familiar with BattleBots. Is it similar to ANJ? From what I searched, it is an American robot combat series. The machines are created & able to fight in an arena.

  2. Who remembers using VCRs? & an extended question, who actually remembers having Beta cassette tapes? Stood for Betamax & were smaller than VHS tapes. I remember my family thinking about whether we should get Beta or not. I’m glad we stuck with VHS as Beta didn’t seem to go far. Though it did have a good cult following for some people.

It was a pain though to do. You had to remember to set the recording, make sure the tape was in there, & most importantly, know how much time is on said tape. So many times I didn’t record something because the tape ran out!

  3. The movies were in 1985, 1989, 1990. They starred Michael J. Fox as student Marty McFly & Christopher Lloyd as scientist Doc Brown. I remember when this came out, it was the best thing. Which movie did you like the best? I lean towards the original. Original movies helps the viewer to build up the characters & the storyline.

Interesting tidbit: The rights to the film & their sequels are owned by Robert Zemeckis & Bob Gale. In an interview, they mentioned that there would be no reboot or remake during their lifetimes.

  4. Who has played this? Around here, I have seen several courses. While it’s not that popular, it is gaining in momentum. For those who have never heard of this game, it is also called Frisbee Golf in some areas. The game started when people threw Frisbees at targets. The object is to complete each hole with the least amount of throws.

I have never played it myself; honestly not sure how I would be as I tend to overthrow a Frisbee.

  5. I'm pretty good with getting things done. Only time I don't is when I get intimidated especially if it's the first time I've done something.

Do you have tips to stop yourself from procrastinating? I think of this as Self-Care. When we rest, our bodies & minds get recharged & we are able to handle things a lot better. I unplug often from technology. I’ve actually set timers to make sure I take a break. Too often we are online & look at that ‘one more thing’ & it’s hours later! We get in a zone, knowing we SHOULD do something else but just push it aside. Making lists, having a routine is also what helps. Then you can feel good about yourself & not beat yourself up.

  6. Talking about Sci-Fi got me thinking about this show. At first, my husband & I nixed it. Looked too gory. My husband doesn't care for zombie movies (I can take it or leave it). Then we saw that this was on many seasons & the people who DID watch it, continually raved about it. So, we tested it out on Netflix last winter. Yep, got hooked lol It is a bit too gory for my liking, but the plot tends to pull you in. We're behind on seasons. Waited for Season 10 to come out on Netflix. Anybody like it? What are your thoughts?

  7. Includes The Karate Kid 1984, The Karate Kid Parts 2 & 3 1986 & 1989. The Next Karate Kid 1994. The newer movie of same name in 2010 with Jackie Chan.

The one with Jackie Chan was better than I thought it would be but it was odd seeing that actor as feeble with less humor. It still doesn’t hold a candle to the original ones. There wasn’t any chemistry between the 2 main actors IMO. I watched it but can’t imagine watching it again, whereas I’ve seen the originals several times since.

Then of course the newest series, Cobra Kai. A reboot of the series with the two rivals. I tried watching it but it didn’t hold me. When I looked at reviews, people are raving about this series. Something must be good if it’s going on for 4 seasons now.
Have you watched any of these movies? What did you think about them? Should I give Cobra Kai another go?

  8. We watched this years ago. When we started watching it, they were in Mount Midoriyama in Las Vegas, NV. It’s based off of a Japanese version, Sasuke. It started in 2009 & is on its 13th season. While we are not athletes (into fitness but certainly not athletic lol), the skills these contestants had just blew you away. We watched enough to recognize some major characters as time went on.

Did you watch this? Would you do something like this?

Can you imagine leaving your dog with strangers? They'd feel like they've been abandoned and I've seen how they act when they feel like that and it's heartbreaking.

Wholeheartedly agree! The 2 we've had were rescues from bad situations. They bonded to me very strongly. I can't even leave the room sometimes lol It's hard enough when we have to leave them at a vet for teeth cleaning. Can't convey to them that it's for their own good & Mommy & Daddy will be back. It's heart-wrenching on the pet AND on the human.

  10. I'm of the older generation so I learned that time is precious. If my parents wanted to learn a game, I think of it as spending quality time with my best friends. It's not a bother. Sure, it can be annoying if they don't grasp it right away, but I just breathe, take a step back & focus on being with them NOT on the game. That is what helps. Life is too short.

  11. I like being self-sufficient & a prepper. I can live without toilet paper as well as soap. There are other alternatives. For toilet paper, there’s cloth, which is also washable. Back in the day we had cloth diapers.

For soap, you can clean with baking soda, vinegar, essential oils. People do oil cleansing which uses i.e. the coconut or another carrier oil & actually have found it to be more beneficial.

Point is, when you think outside the box, people will find a whole other world out there.

  12. Putting this in Music as it has dancing. I went to a school dance when I was 14 but was not into it. I went because my friends were going & it was the ‘thing’ to go to. I didn't go to prom. Just wasn’t for me. Being an introvert, I was the wallflower. I preferred being home reading than going out in crowds. For those who did go to the dance or prom, what was your experience like? Is there anything you would do differently? Have any good or even bad memories to share?

  13. Do you watch Reality shows? If so, what do you like? What do you think about them. I personally don’t care for them. Some or even all, is staged to be hyped up to create the most wow factor & drama. For those who watch them, what draws you to continue watching? I know some people just like to veg out & not take life too seriously. Some view them as just a good laugh.
