Motion capture, texture fidelity, lighting, animation, character models, lip syncing all contribute to the overall graphical presentation. The Last Of Us, God Of War and Killzone Shadow Fall are probably the best looking games I've played. But I think Octopath Traveler is also an amazing-looking game which marries 16-bit aesthetics with more modern lighting.
Truth is, video games cost A LOT of money to make. Video games haven't really increased in price compared to general inflation. However, our expectations for the quality of a video game has changed DRASTICALLY. Overall, I think video games are pretty cheap these days imho. Games will probably have to go up in price slightly next gen.

Will probably pick this up, but wanted to share for those interested. https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/video-games-and-tablets/playstation-4/playstation-4-games/ni-no-kuni-2-revenant-kingdom-ps4/p/161660
I think it'll drop in price a little more before I bite, but this is a decent deal for one of the big critical disappointments of the year: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/gaming/console-games/ps4-fallout-76-10184091-pdt.html?awc=1599_1542909960_7c144ebdf4ab739699f90d987b5358e8&srcid=369&xtor=AL-1&cmpid=aff~HotUKDeals~Communities %26 UGC~47868&awid=47868
Never got around to playing Sunset Overdrive but I did like Infinite Warfare. It's better than Ghosts, which I think is the worst modern COD imho. Thanks for commenting!
Gaming has always been a part of my identity. It’s helped me connect with other people, stay in touch with friends and simply been a good way for me to unwind at the end of a busy day in work. It’s a wonderful medium that is all too often misunderstood by society and mainstream media.
I started skateboarding in my teens with a few friends but as I stopped hanging out with 'em, I skateboarded less and less to the point of having a 10 year gap where I never skateboarded at all. I've recently got back into it (I'm 36 now!) and I'm really loving it! I'm by no means an expert, but I've got a few basic moves like ollies, shuvits and power slides down. I'm working on my pop shuvits and kick flips at the moment. Anyone else like to skateboard? How old are you? How long you been skateboarding? What tricks have you got nailed?
Gotta say I've been pretty lucky with this, but I do remember buying Red Faction Guerrilla back in the day and not enjoying it. Really regretted buying it. Any games you really regretted buying?
Dark Souls t-shirt, Black Ops t-shirt and a few soundtracks on CD (Two Worlds 2, Silent Hill 2). I really fancy picking up some Fallout merch sometime. Love that little vault boy character.
Don’t use Amazon Prime Video too much as much like Katri above, I’m a little disappointed with it as a service. Amazon need to step up their game if they really want to compete with Netflix and co imho.
Playstation, and to a slightly lesser extent, Nintendo, are doing incredibly well. I can, however, see a resurgent Microsoft coming into the gaming ring next generation — they’re putting the right infrastructure in place to bounce back.
This may be a perfect deal for all you PC aficionados out there! https://www.ebuyer.com/769693-msi-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-gddr5-oc-v1-graphics-card-gtx-1060-6gt-ocv1?utm_source=hotukdeals&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=hotukdeals
I love FPSs, they're definitely one of my favourite genres and they're one of the most popular genres in gaming, too. My favourites are Bioshock, Call Of Duty: Black Ops, Fallout New Vegas, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Doom, Aliens Vs Predator, Left For Dead and Duke Nukem 3D. I think we - as a human race - find shooting things in the face pretty cathartic.... well, after a busy day at work, I know I do!
