When it comes to video games, are graphics important? Can a game still be "Great" or "Good" without stunning graphics nowadays? Personally, I think so. I love phenomenal graphics as much as the next person, but if a game has a compelling story and fun gameplay, graphics, at least in my opinion, can take a backseat. What about you? Do graphics make a game? Do they matter to you if the gameplay is good?

I heard rumors that they're remaking Red Dead Redemption. I feel like Red Dead Revolver should probably get a remake first as Red Dead Redemption still holds up today and I personally don't feel it needs a remake just yet. I don't know how likely we are to see a Red Dead Revolver remake though.

You kinda got your wish. There's a new Crash game. Team Rumble i believe is what it's called. Seems like a Smash Bros Style game. Looks insanely fun! We'll definitely have to try it together on Xbox 😄

Fair argument. I'm still holding out hope for a proper Final Fight 4 though. I think in time we'll see one, in the same vein as we got Streets of Rage 4 from DOTEMU.

Yeah they had the games on the 360 for awhile. The 4th one was also on game pass for a bit. It's no longer on game pass, which reminds me I should probably purchase it so I can play it again 😛

This game looked interesting. I watched a buddy of mine play through this on stream. There were some moments in this game that made everyone in chat laugh because of how he died. 😛 It looked like a fun game and I know they're making a sequel. I might have to try it sometime.

I might look into this. The last boxing game I've played was Ready to Rumble Boxing Round 2 on the Dreamcast. This looks very similar to that, so I might look into giving it a try if it comes to game pass.

Yeah I agree. I'll always prefer the 2D games as that's what I grew up with. However, I think in terms of 3D sonic, Sonic Adventure & Adventure 2 were probably the best out of the bunch. These new ones just don't feel as good.

Do you know any good Dreamcast games rated PG?
Smokey replied to BlazeNinja22's topic in Video Games
For kids? I'd say: Crazy Taxi 1 & 2 Sonic Adventure 1&2 Jet Grind Radio Toy Commander Ooga Booga Wormz Chu Chu Rocket. Sonic Shuffle To name a few. There are some 2D fighting games like Marvel Vs Capcom or Capcom vs Snk too. -
I prefer the Xbox controller to the Playstation. Ever since 6th gen I preferred xbox's controllers to the Playstations, starting with the 360. For me personally though? The best thing about xbox is being able to play with my girlfriend @Shortie, I never owned an xbox of my own until 2013, for years she'd give me crap for not owning an xbox and how much better the 360 was compared to the PS3, well at the tail end of 2013, I finally bought one and we started gaming together, a year or so later and we began dating. She was the reason I bought the xbox and 8 years later, we're still together. 🙂 So to me, the best thing about the xbox, is the relationship I got out of it with my best friend. 🙂 ,

I would like to see this too. I watched someone on youtube play through it on stream recently and I wanted to go and play it again. I guess there's emulation, but that's not the same. 😞 I wish Microsoft would restart the backwards compatibility program. Maybe in the future they will. It would certainly be awesome to see.

At first I didn't, it looked like a PC tower or mini fridge to me. However, after owning one for awhile, it's grown on me quite a bit. Speaking of the "Mini Fridge" design, I would LOVE to get one of those xbox-branded mini fridges to keep some mountain dew in there for long game sessions at night.

I remember this happened a lot on my older brother's original xbox after awhile. I was never able to play it, but I do remember him having issues with it after a few years up until he moved out to get his own apartment. I guess that's to be expected over time. Disc drives just tend to fail and need replacing. I remember it happened to one of my PS2's back in the day, the laser inside completely died and I needed to buy a new PS2.

I agree. I time my achievements, or try to, to match with the weekly sets for Microsoft Rewards that require you to earn 3 achievements, or the monthly punch cards that require the same. So I double down and not only get the achievements, but the rewards points for them too. 🙂

I would love to pick this up just for the novelty of it. However, the fact it's not wireless is a bit of a bummer for me. For the price of the controller, I would expect it to be wireless like the regular Xbox One/Series X controllers. I don't know, I might still pick one up at some point, we'll have to wait and see.

For the first time in decades, both of my consoles are completely out in the open with full ventilation optimization. Last gen I had my PS4 and Xbox one X in my entertainment cabinet, while the ventilation was okay, it wasn't as good as it could be. This time around both my Xbox and PS5 are out in the open, standing upright, with my TV between the two of them, so they get the best ventilation possible.

On Xbox, each time you earn an achievement, you get points towards your overall 'gamerscore'. This is a huge accolade to some and they take pride in having a large gamer score. There are a bunch of achievement hunters out there. I don't mind my score being on the lower side, but I do like the feeling of accomplishment when I get certain achievements in games. I have a buddy who just ended a 486 day streak of getting an achievement a day. This wasn't intentional of course, but he says he's gonna try redoing it starting January 1st. What do you think? Are you someone who cares about gamerscore & achievements?

Tough one! For me its probably either Dead or Alive 4 or Call of Duty Black Ops 2. I sunk a lot of hours into the original MW2 but on the 360 i sunk an ungodly number of hours into Black Ops 2 before hackers took it over. I'm literally 10 levels away from prestige master, but can't get it due to hacked lobbies. 😞 Which is a real shame.

Have you tried the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series? If you like Japanese lore, you might enjoy these games. I'm a big fan of them, the first 6 are like beat-em-up RPG's, and the 7th (Like a Dragon) and upcoming 8th are more like traditional turn-based RPGs.

Pope on Twitter does a lot of cool mock-ups of different color schemes for consoles & controllers. I would love to see the Series X & S consoles be put in the design lab and customiziable like the Elite Series 2 controllers are now. A custom console to go with your custom elite controller? That'd be awesome! I would imagine it'd be very, very expensive though.

Yeah. Stranglehold is on sale at GoG for like $2.50 now. I might pick it up so I have access to it, as recently i lost my PS3 and 360 collection and with it, my collector's edition copy of Stranglehold.

Bloober Team working on new horror project with Private Division publisher
Smokey replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Nice. I'm excited to see how they handle the Silent Hill 2 remake they're working on. Although, I would've liked to see a remake of the original title first. I'm excited to see us get new Silent Hill games though, and I hope this other game from Bloober is just as good & scary! Only time will tell. I'll keep an eye out for the announcement. -
What games/series were you most upset to see become exclusives?
Smokey replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I own both a Series X and PS5. I was fortunate enough to get both, and a decent gaming laptop with a RTX 3070 in it, so game exclusivity isn't a huge deal for me anymore. -
In recent years? Probably Saints Row 2022. This game was so hyped up. It reviewed very poorly and just seemed very repetitive and lackluster when it came out. I haven't even bought the game, I plan on picking it up when it's ~$20, but we'll see. I do enjoy the Saints games, but this newest one, a lot of people I know say to not bother. With the price of everything going up, I have to be super selective over what games I buy at launch and which I wait for big sales for.

Tough one! probably for me, right now it's the Playstation Vita. I loved it back at launch when I got mine, and i love it now to this day. My console is hacked so it does a lot of cool stuff and I'm in the process of getting a bigger SD card for it so I can load up all of my Vita and PS1 titles.
