That's actually a good rule of thumb actually, with no shortage of people streaming games and making content for twitch/YouTube?
It's better for the consumers and lessens the impulse buyers (though they still exist) 🤣

as a general rule i try to avoid buying games until i get a good look at the gameplay. every time i make an impulsive buy i end up hating the games. if i've been looking at enough gameplay and have decided i'm fairly interested in the game i will buy it as soon as it hits the eshop.

and here i felt stupid for feeling bad about pick pocketing the AIs in skyrim. lol!
i can't do stuff like that phosphorous thing...i'd quit the game and delete it if i had to do that. i don't like killing animals in games. games like fortnite and splatoon the violence is cartoon violence. it's easier for me to accept. i still don't like hurting animals in games. i play minecraft in peaceful/creative mode. a gamer friend of mine plays tomb raider and i can't watch. i mod his stream but i can't watch when he plays that game. certain games just bother me and i won't watch or play them. i've been having some heart problems so i gave up my skyrim and all my shooter games because they cause too much anxiety. i've never really been into violent games but during the pandemic for a while they scratched an itch that needed scratching. i don't know that i'll ever be interested in the survival mode on minecraft. i just like cozy games mostly. the most chaotic game i have right now is my fall guys. lmao!

ok now i'm confused. if the question is which games offer the least prejudice or bigotry i am sticking to ac new horizons. you can make whatever island you want. if you're part of the lgbtq crowd you can have that kind of island if that's what you want. i had a goth island going. i since restarted to do something else. i'm sure you could do just about anything on acnh u wanted. it's a creative/simulation type game. acnh doesn't really hang on male or female roles or nationalities or even sex. you just go to this deserted island and get yourself 10 villagers and start creating. the villagers go along with whatever because their those AI's and you can interact with them. befriend them and even love them. 
 

Animal Crossing New Horizons. Whatever you do in that game, the villagers are always happy for you, where in the previous games (particularly the first one, it's been toned down more and more every installment) they could be more rude. But NH is essentially just a tool for the player to express themselves without fear of pushback nor repercussion.

Some video games doesn't just click with you no matter what you do or how many times that you try to force play it. 
It's happened to me with quite a few number of games and I knew right away that there's no point in try to push it.

I gotta give props to the people who make these wild creations in Minecraft, especially taking 6 years of their life to make something such as this. This person decided to make an as close as possible replica of Hogwarts as they could. The creator used the likes of video footage of the movies and photos as well.

Agreed and to top it all off - my cable bill used to cost way more and I still couldn't watch certain channels without paying extra...

I quit watching tv years ago. I was tired of paying a cable bill for crap I was turning off. I have Hulu+LiveTV with ads but I can choose my content. I like it better and it's only $77 something a month. There's nothing of interest on tv for me anymore. Especially all that reality crap. I get enough of that IRL.

Even if it's just a $100 loss, I still wouldn't feel happy about it. If I had used my stuff and it damaged on my watch, it's a lot better than having to lose it to a thief. Some of them wouldn't even know the worth and they will gamble it away for a piece of trash.

This is why I'm always very careful with whom I allowed into my home after one of my expensive digital camera was stolen and no one who came to my house that day agreed to have seen anything. 
I would piss myself if anyone steal my Nintendo Switch. 

i've had both mine for nearly 3 yrs. not had any trouble with them. my original expensive switch that could be hooked to the tv got stolen. i hope to replace it with an oled at some point. 

you're talking about game reviewers. i'm talking about streamers who play these games every day in the hope of getting pd. to sit there and play video games all day so they don't have to work outside the home. they're well past the review stage. some can chill and play and have a good time and a great stream. others are big babies when the struggle gets to be too much. every time they chant i hate this game they are bringing down any reviews or possible sales with all that grumping if you wanna get technical about it. many times they start losing supporters/followers because of it.

i work in healthcare and i'm here to tell you covid is still very much alive and well.
i have some friends that do 24 hr gaming streams. one is coming up on his 12 month sober anniversary and wants to do a 24 hr stream next month. if i'm off i'm gonna try to hang out. i told him if he needed an extra mod for the day i'd be down for it. i mod for another guy on twitch. he hardly gets any viewers bless his heart. he's a pretty cool guy. i've been with him from the beginning on twitch. i met him on facebook. he made me a mod even though i had no clue what to do. i ended up googling the info so i could at least do the basics for now. i just don't see how these people can do this full time and make enough to live on. i would feel weird streaming and expecting people to pay to watch me play video games all day.

and today's kids are only getting this now. they don't know what it was like to just be a part of life. most of them only know what's in their phones.

I agree with you on that I grew up without internet for a portion of my life and only had a land line at MOST , generally we spent time together outside as a family or you just learned to spend time alone being creative to entertain yourself. Now adays if you don't instantly agree with someone its almost 100% going to be an argument and that person would rather just find a group of people that agree with them instead of pushing their mental limits of what they "know". Can say dating these days is actually a really tricky thing since no one wants to admit their wrong anymore or be open to change. Its either they believe 100% what they think they know or they dont trust anyone because they know nothing xD and generally its the ones thinking they know everything that know nothing at all REEEE
Still technology has helped alot and made life much more convenient but it took away all the substance from life at the same time. Most people don't even know the smell of a camp fire, the taste of a real home cooked meal or the sounds of nature. Not on a true deep level that happens on a regular basis ofc. I think a shift will come in the future where more people want to experience natural real life experiences orrrr if that doesnt happen we just fall deeper into the rabbit hole of technology and dont return on humanity is forced to XDDD

true but bear in mind i come from a different generation. even if we'd had cell phones when i was a kid there's no way we would've ever been allowed to have any. all this technology is changing people and their perceptions of real life events like simple conversation. they can't have a conversation without either getting offended because they no longer understand the concept of voice inflection or they're too busy on their phones to have a conversation. but there's no balance really to fix it. it is what it is.
